Clear Cough Syrup

I am 56 years old. When I was a preteen my dad used to give my sister and I a clear medicine. It was the most horrible medicine I ever tasted! My OLD doctor said it was taken off the shelves because of miss use. I was trying to remember the name. ## I remember a clear cough syrup that was AWFUL called terpinhydrate. My brother & I used to run from it, but it really worked. It was discontinued in the 90's.

I would like to know what the clear form of codeine liquid is used for and how many milligrams it is? ## If it is a cough syrup, then that is what it would be used for, to help prevent coughing, however, I cannot tell you anything from just the color. The FDA warns that this medication carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth, and constipation. However, it should be noted that there is also a liquid that just contains Codeine, without other active ingredients, which is used to treat pain. Is there anything else I can help with?

I have been taking from two days Banocide Forte & cough syrup for severe cough, difficulty speaking due cough, shortness of breath, clearing of voice consistently. I have been having cough, cold, fever for 3 weeks, now cold & fever have subsided but severe cough is still persisting. Kindly suggest. ## Getting often sore throat,wet cough,slight fever and tiredness. I want reason and medicine. ## Are you sure you are taking the right kind of medication? There are different medicines for different kinds of cough (i.e. oral expectorants, cough suppressants, topical ointments, etc).

My son had a broken leg and was prescribed hydrocodone 7.5 liquid. I had a vistor come over and use the bathroom where the medicine is. Due to her reputation, I checked after she left. I had tasted it before because my son complained about the taste. I tasted it just now and I'm pretty sure it's watered down based on my memory. I'd like to be 100% sure before confronting her. sir i am having fever and cough, doctor prescribed me azithral 500, calpol 500, levocet and a cough syrup. What i want to know is about this antibiotics. Does it help in killing the viruses or it'll only supress it. Is it good to avoid the antibiotic and take the rest of the medicines? ## An Antibiotic will not do anything for a virus, it will not treat it, clear it up or suppress it. Saw my GP on Friday with a tight chest and breathing discomfort. I have history of pulmonary embolsm. Have flu symptoms as well. Was nebulized with oxygen, prescribed betamox and mybulen and cough syrup to clear chest. I have horrific headaches and nausea. Could it be because of overdosing on betamox?? Instructions says 3 tabs 3x day (500mg). ## It is very hard to actually overdose on an antibiotic, in most cases, according to the U.S. FDA, you will just experience more intense side effects, which may include nausea, dizziness, headache and diarrhea. So yes, the headaches and nausea could be due to the antibiotic. How long will you be taking it?

Is it OK ? I've taken two Bayer aspirin 25 mins ago..for a low grade fever my temp was 99.5 .but my heart was beating so fast. I've got asmathic bronchitis took dilinct syrup and use nubilizer. My chest is still very tight and I'm so tired. Which one is the best for a tight chest dilinct or clear cough syrup.

I lost the bottle that held the original prescription on it, but was trying to find out if the clear cough syrup i found was either codeine or hydrocodone, cause i am allergic to codeine.
