Pink oval antidepressant ## I recently received a refill from my mail order pharmacy for Citalopram HBR tablets, 20 mg. The first prescription I had were pink oval tablets, but this next one was round white tablets, the size of a 325mg bayer aspirin. Embossed on the tablet, from what I can make out is, WP1 3177. Is the same type of drug or could it be the wrong prescription?? ## This is the same medication and same dosage, just made by a different company that your last fill. Many pharmacies end up switching which one they carry according to what company had the cheapest available when they needed to restock. Some of the most common side effects include: nausea, drowsiness, dizziness and sweating. ## I was taken off lexapro and put on citalopram hbr 20mg. After being on the generic anti...

That's not a normal side effect of this medication, but it is difficult to know how any drug will affect any given person that takes it, but your doctor should be able to help you get to the root of the problem. ## I have the same leg pain. I was on Citalopram from August 2017 to June 2018. I decided to taper off of them because I didn’t like how I felt on them. I have had a pill for just over 5 weeks now. While on the medicine, I was definitely less panicked. However, I had a pretty constant feeling of being out of it, like being drugged or spaced out. I had this before I started the medicine so I was hoping it would help. The other really bad symptom I had was this weird dizziness and vertigo. I was dizzy before I started, but a few weeks in I remember I had rapid feeling in my head before bed like my head was moving. This turned into an awful vertigo sensation that hits hard when I lay down. It feels like I’m spinning or my body parts are moving or being pulled, and makes it hard to sleep sometimes. Anyway, ...

I've been taking citalopram for just over a week and I've got the shakes and my walking has gotten slower. Also, I tend to forget things. I am feeling washed out and tired. I'm not bothering with my appearance as I can't be bothered to even cook myself a hot meal. I'd rather live on crisps and snacks. Is this normal or does it get better with time? ## No, this is NOT normal. It sounds like you are having a bad reaction to the medication and you should contact your doctor immediately to inform them. They will want to rule out other causes and if it is the medication, you may need to try something else. Have you contacted them, yet? ## Hi. I've just been put on citalopram 10mg a day for depression and anxiety. Has anyone out there benefited from this drug and does ...

I've been taking Citalopram 20 mg for two weeks now, for anxiety. It took around 7 days to kick in, but I suffered anxiety symptoms in second week and had a very mild stomach ache and bloated feeling. Has anyone had a similar experience? ## Citalopram, the active ingredient in Celexa, is an antidepressant. It can take several weeks to reach its full effect and help relieve your anxiety, if it does not work in the next 1 to 2 weeks, please make sure to contact your doctor. And yes, the things you are experiencing can be normal side effects of this medication, you may also experience symptoms that include dizziness and headache. I've been on the pill (Diane 35) for 7 months now and was put on Cilift (Citalopram) about 2 weeks ago for depression and anxiety. I'm 18 years old. I've been feeling very strange: loss of appetite, tremors, I need to wee a lot more frequently, I'm going to bed much earlier (around 20:30) and I always wake up at 00:30. I toss and turn the whole night, I never get a good night's rest. I feel very weak and shaky, sometimes lightheaded or like I'm going to faint. If I take the pill a few hours late, I will always vomit early the next morning around 2 am . I was just wondering if anyone else has been experiencing this, any info will be great :) ## If Cilift is the only new medication that's been added, then it's most likely the one that's causing these si...

I just started taking citalopram 20 mg 5 days ago. Today I had a terrible all over anxiety/panic attack that lasted about 10 min. I've never had anything that intense before. I've used Cilift for 3 months, and systematically stopped using it as advised. My question as follows. Can the discontinuing use of Cilift cause any change in your menstruation cycle? ## Hi, Johcha! In theory it shouldn't, since it just contains Citalopram, which is an SSRI class antidepressant, but in reality anything that stresses us and/or upsets our body's balance can upset our hormonal balance. I am not sure why you were advised to systematically stop using it, because if you've only been on it for 3 months, then you're really not even giving it any time to work and help you. It takes 4 to 6 weeks for it to reach its full level of efficacy in the body. Thus, if you're stopping it regularly, it's never getting there and you're basically starting over ...

I have been on mirtazapine at 15mg for two weeks, I feel like a walking zombie and my moods are vile! I am agitated and hot tapered with my husband and children making me a nightmare to live with. Today the doctor has prescribed me 30mg as I have always been on such a high dose of Citalopram before we tapered off, that she thinks my side effects may be because I need more antidepressant in the system but agreed it might be because they don't suit me but we won't know until we've tried them for 5-6weeks. My question is will I always be tired and zombie like?...and also will I always be hot tempered and agitated? Or will these symptoms wear off as at the moment I just feel like stopping the damn things! Would really appreciate the opinions of those who have experienced this dr...

I have been on Citalopram for a few years, on 30 mg at most but in the last year have been weaned down to 10mg (could not go any lower or come off completely due to side effects). Recently I have had problems acquiring my monthly pack of 10mg and so found an old pack of 20mg to tide me over until I can get my usual 10mg. Since taking the 20 I have been having dizziness and nausea for almost a week - spells in work where I feel as if I might black out and generally feeling off balance - Is this normal? I don't remember experiencing such effects when I switched from 10 upwards originally, just the first time I ever took them.... Can anyone give any advice? ## Yes, any time you raise the dosage, it is possible to experience side effects, even if you didn't experience them before, b...
