Can I take 2 10mg celexa at the same time?? Would it be the same as taking a 20mg??? ## Yes, it would be equivalent to taking a 20mg, as long as they are both the regular release formulation tablets. My doctor even suggests I do it, if we're upping the dose of something, to use up the pills I've already purchased, before spending money on more. Learn more Celexa details here. There should be no problem, unless your doctor has specifically said not to do so. Is there anything else I can help with?

I had been taking Citalopram 20mg for 8 months. I began taking it for anxiety, agitation, hormone type issues. Although it absolutely helped all of the symptoms that I complained of, the drowsiness side effect is too much. I feel like I am completely worn out all the time. I don't have the energy to exercise, therefore I have gained 10 pounds. My doc has switched me to Lexapro 10mg and I have been taking it for a week now. I already have far more energy than I had on Citalopram. Just hope it is as effective for my original symptoms. ## Are you still doing well on the Lexapro? Learn more Lexapro details here. I've been taking citalopram for just over a week and I've got the shakes and my walking has gotten slower. Also, I tend to forget things. I am feeling washed out and tired. I'm not bothering with my appearance as I can't be bothered to even cook myself a hot meal. I'd rather live on crisps and snacks. Is this normal or does it get better with time? ## No, this is NOT normal. It sounds like you are having a bad reaction to the medication and you should contact your doctor immediately to inform them. They will want to rule out other causes and if it is the medication, you may need to try something else. Have you contacted them, yet? ## Hi. 8 weeks ago my mom was given 10mg citalopram for anxiety. she did not feel any side effect in the first week but afterwards starting having insomnia, upset stomach, tremor, agitation, etc. The psychiatrist increased teh dose to 20 mg daily but this did not solve anything. Today, in the 8th week she could not sleep at all in the night (she felt fresh when going sleeping even she was working the whole day) and in the morning she is feeling needles in the whole body, she is shaking + many other bad feelings. Can be that the dose is too high for her age (74 years old)?. I am afraid not to be the symptoms of a high level of serotonin. ## Those can all be side effects of Celexa. Insomnia is a classic side effect, though some people get sleepy from SSRI's. Seems to depend on the person. Th...

I have been on citalopram 10mg for 2 months. The last few weeks I have been getting tremor spasms in my left arm and really bad night sweats.. Can I just stop citalopram safely? I have had blood tests 2 days ago and all is ok. ## A slow taper is usually best, stopping abruptly may cause withdrawal effects, which the NIH lists as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, rebound depression, anxiety, and diarrhea. Are you on any other medications?

I was on 40mg of Citalopram and slowly over a few months I cut down to 10mg. On Christmas eve I cut it out totally, the main effect of this was sleeping terribly which I know is normal and why I waited until I had time off work. Now I'm back at work I feel very anxious and had diarreah yesterday quite a bit in work. Now I'm worries my ibs-D is making a comeback, or is it just settling back to work anxiety. Not sure if taking propranolol as and when would help with this. Does anyone have any advice? Need to wait around 4 weeks for an appt at my docs surgery so thought be worth trying forums 1st.

Can I Break A Citalopram Hbr 20 Mg Tablet In Half? ## I have been on Cit for about 6 years 10mg. the great news is it made me feel great took away all that angst and low mood. BUT I have gained about 2 stone and its made my IBS terrible. its wierd because i always saw Cit as a cure and would look for other reasons why i was getting bigger, having bad stomach. it was only when I started a serious diet and had lost nothing after 4 weeks (while my daughter on same diet lost ten pounds) that i started to research reasons. Theres no question its this horrible little drug and i am furious that my doctor never thought to see if Cit was a cause. over many many forums the same theme is coming thru, doctors fobbing off patients that Cit doesnt cause weight gain and there should be no withdrawal s...

I have been on Citalopram for a few years, on 30 mg at most but in the last year have been weaned down to 10mg (could not go any lower or come off completely due to side effects). Recently I have had problems acquiring my monthly pack of 10mg and so found an old pack of 20mg to tide me over until I can get my usual 10mg. Since taking the 20 I have been having dizziness and nausea for almost a week - spells in work where I feel as if I might black out and generally feeling off balance - Is this normal? I don't remember experiencing such effects when I switched from 10 upwards originally, just the first time I ever took them.... Can anyone give any advice? ## Yes, any time you raise the dosage, it is possible to experience side effects, even if you didn't experience them before, b...

Good Morning, I started on 10mg Celexa (Citalopram) at the end of May 2015. Two weeks into the medication I had sever nausea. I could not keep anything down. This has been non stop to this day and Doc wouldn't prescribe me nausea medicine. 4 weeks into Celexa and I had my first anxiety attack. I have only had one once before in my life before I started antidepressants. A few days later another attack would occur that kept me from leaving the house on my birthday. I have trouble falling asleep now and I constantly feel weak and faint. I went back to my Doctor for a check up and he insisted I try 20mg and then also prescribed me .5 Xanax. I tried the 20mg for a few days, but the side effects were too intense. I cut back to 10mg for a week and now I have decided to wean myself off of C...

Hi I'm Chantelle my GP today prescribed citalopram 10mg for my anxiety/depression, after reading things from other users of this product I'm scared of taking it because the most common cause feeling sick is one of my biggest fears, with actually being sick, and I don't know whether to to take it! :( would I be better taking it before bed so I won't feel any symptoms, thanks ## Hi Chantelle, While I don't have any personal experience with citalopram, I do think it's important to understand that medications can and usually do effect everyone differently, whereas some people get great results, but there are others that it inevitably just doesn't work for no matter how many they take. Unfortunately when it comes to prescription drugs, the only way to find out is ...

Since I have been on this antidepressant/anxity med (or any antidepressants for that matter) I have been tired all the time. I am on 20mg. I have no desire to do anything and once I am home all I want to do is take naps. I have never been like this when I haven't taken anything. This is the only antidepressant that helps with my depression but I can't stand the way it makes me exhausted all the time!! ## Hello, Nickey! How are you? It could be that you need to try a lower dosage, there is a 10mg dose available. That way it may still help with your depression, without causing such fatigue. The FDA lists its other typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth, and weight changes. How long have you been taking it?

Hi, I have been on 20mg of Citalopram (Celexa) for a year and starting to come off them. I was taking 2 x 10 mg tablets a day. So I started by alternating 2x10mg one day followed by 1x10mg the next day and alternating for a few weeks. Well that was the plan, but I felt no side effects after 3 days so figured I could go down to 10mg a day. I was on 10mg a day for about 3 days and had no withdrawal symptoms, so again figured I had this tapering stuff sorted and then decided to go to 10mg every other day. Then it hit me, I felt like I had the flu... which is my main question, people talk about side effect symptoms like brain zaps and nausea, I havent had any of those. But I feel achy and lethargic and cannot sleep. But also have a really bad cough. I have never seen anyone mention a cough ...
