Can cilift contribute to erectile disfunction (libido) and failure to reach climax. ## Cilift is not known to be manufactured in the US, so it is difficult to gather abundant information on the drug. However, I did find that Citalopram is reported to be an ingredient of Cilift in South Africa. Citalopram can have a number of adverse effects: Fatigue, drowsiness, dry mouth, increased sweating (hyperhidrosis), trembling, headache, dizziness, sleep disturbances, insomnia, cardiac arrhythmia, hallucinations, blood pressure changes, nausea and/or vomiting, diarrhea, heightened anorgasmia in females, impotence and Ejaculatory Problems in Males. I've used Cilift for 3 months, and systematically stopped using it as advised. My question as follows. Can the discontinuing use of Cilift cause any change in your menstruation cycle? ## Hi, Johcha! In theory it shouldn't, since it just contains Citalopram, which is an SSRI class antidepressant, but in reality anything that stresses us and/or upsets our body's balance can upset our hormonal balance. I am not sure why you were advised to systematically stop using it, because if you've only been on it for 3 months, then you're really not even giving it any time to work and help you. It takes 4 to 6 weeks for it to reach its full level of efficacy in the body. Thus, if you're stopping it regularly, it's never getting there and you're basically starting over ...

Could the long term use (17 years) of cilift 20 mg and initially cipramil cause increased confusion, heightened forgetfulness and disorientation? ## Hello, Paul! How are you? Yes, it can cause those types of side effects, as reported by the FDA. You may also experience nausea, dizziness, headache and dry mouth. However, those symptoms could also be indicative of other health problems, so you should have them checked out to be sure. Is there anything else I can help with?

I have been using Cilift 20mg as well as Alzam for just over 2 years. I have Rheumatoid arthritis. Started taking anti depressants after my husband committed suicide over 2 years ago. I do not sleep well. I still feel down at times, I have terrible pain in my hips, knees and elbows. Seems both tablets do not work for me anymore. Does the Cilift and the Alzam not affect the balance of my hormones? Oh I'm 63 Years old. I want to wean myself from these two meds. What would be the best route to follow? When I talk to my GP she says 'take them, you need them to cope'. I refuse to take a sleeping pill. ## Hello, Mathilda! How are you doing? Has there been any change? It could be that you just need a dosage adjustment. No dosage of any given medication lasts forever, our bodies eve...

I've been on the pill (Diane 35) for 7 months now and was put on Cilift (Citalopram) about 2 weeks ago for depression and anxiety. I'm 18 years old. I've been feeling very strange: loss of appetite, tremors, I need to wee a lot more frequently, I'm going to bed much earlier (around 20:30) and I always wake up at 00:30. I toss and turn the whole night, I never get a good night's rest. I feel very weak and shaky, sometimes lightheaded or like I'm going to faint. If I take the pill a few hours late, I will always vomit early the next morning around 2 am . I was just wondering if anyone else has been experiencing this, any info will be great :) ## If Cilift is the only new medication that's been added, then it's most likely the one that's causing these si...

Usually my lips feel hot and then I know the next day that I will have problems - is it a side effect of this drug ## Dry lips is indeed one of many side effects when on cilift. Some gain weight, others lose, and it can also affect your fatigue. Consult your doctor on this issue and make use of good, quality lipcare. ## Does Cilift make big fat hard stomachs and does it make Gastric problems worse? ## Cilift is from satan it is ruining my marrage ## Every so often I am put on Cilift 20mg. I would just like to know can these be takeing together? one cilift and one obesan x cause on Friday night I was really sick and I only drank one cider? Could it have been the cider with the tablets or was it the 2 tablets takeing together. ## Hello, Sonja! How are you? I don't know about the Obesan-X, since it's not an actual medication. However, you really shouldn't drink while taking the Cilift, it contains Citalopram and taking it with alcohol could definitely have made you sick, because that will worsen the side effects from it. You may also experience more severe dizziness and drowsiness. Is there anything else I can help with?

I have stopped using cilift for two weeks now, since then my head has been spinning, I itch all the time, and my fingers are extremely stiff. I feel disorientated all the time. Please help! Could it be that I am fourty years old and I am going through menopause? I was on fourteen sleeping tablets a night and I managed to ween myself off. I have been off the sleeping tablets for a month now. ## The dizziness could be from stopping the Cilift, that could also explain the disorientation. Learn more Cilift details here. At 40, if anything is due to hormonal issues, it would be the start of menopause, which is perimenopause. Unless you've stopped having your periods. But that would only explain the skin itching, not the rest of it. Have you consulted your doctor?

I've changed from Cilift to Nuzak due to extensive weight gain. I've been taking Nuzak for 8 days now and the horrible side effects have not gotten less. How long does it usually take for the side effects - anxiety, head aches, nausea - to go away. Is it possible that I can also have withdrawl symptoms form the Cilift. I am desperate to feel better and am concerned as I've been taking huge amounts of headache tablets and muscle relaxants to feel better. ## Yes, it's possible that what you're experiencing is a combination of stopping the Cilift and the side effects from the Nuzak. Learn more Nuzak details here. And it can take about 4 to 6 weeks for your body to adjust and for the effects to start to taper off. However, if they are that severe, you should seek medical...

I have been taking Cilift and Purata for some time now and it worked till recently when I started feeling down and depressed again. My Dr changed Cilift for Urbanol and I still take Purata, is this right. Whilst going thru the change, I experienced electric like shocks when I moved my eyes, this is now gone, but now I regularly get an overwhelming feeling of no energy, tiredness and feel totally drained. Could this be a side effect from the Urbanol ? I am under the impression that Urbanol is an anti-depressant and Purata is an anxiety pill ? Have I got it all wrong ? ## Hi. I have been using urbanol as prescribed by the docter for anxiety. Problem is it's done, and I have not been using it for about two weeks. Since I stopped taking it I've been experiencing severe headaches, fe...

On the 07/03/2015, my mother of 81 years old has been prescribed Urbanol, simultaneously whilst she's taking Cilift. Over this week end she started with symptoms of feeling extremely tired, energy less and totally drained; almost like she either suffered a stroke or TIA. She has also, due to her legs suddenly becoming weak and lame, fallen twice. She says it feels like her legs become lame and her legs just can't support her body. She too experienced this throughout her entire body. She has been on Cilift for approx 5 years, however her GP prescribed Urbanol because she felt anxious and panicky. Today her GP said to stop with the Urbanol. Could Urbanol cause these side effects? ## Hello, Louis! How is your mom doing? Yes, it has been known to cause such side effects, as reported...

ive been on cilift for 5 years and went off about a month ago, for the past week i have not been able to sleep, maybe 3-4 hours broken sleep per night, could this be from after effects of long term cilift use ## Cilifit contains the active ingredient Citalopram and if you were taking it for that long, then stopped taking it abruptly, without tapering off, then you are likely experiencing some rebound effects. It can take several weeks before your body readjusts to not having the medication anymore. Learn more Cilift details here. These types of medications work on brain chemicals and after you are on them for awhile, your brain just gets used to having the drug do some of its work. Have you talked to your doctor? Are there any other questions? ## Is it advicable to let a 12 year old tak...

Can cylift and drinking alcohol make you agressive? ## Cilift contains the active ingredient Citalopram, which is an SSRI antidepressant and it's possible for it to cause aggression and irritability in some people and, of course, adding alcohol to the mix may only worsen such an effect. Learn more Citalopram details here. Has this happened to you?

I have been on cilift for a month now and have the most unusual, weirdest dreams for the past 3 weeks. Is this caused to the meds? or maybe everything that is suppressed that are now coming out in dreams? ## Cilift contains the active ingredient Citalopram, which is a SSRI antidepressant that can also be used to treat other conditions. However, since it does affect the brain chemical Seratonin, yes, it can cause the vivid dreams you are experiencing. 4H2 ## Is cilift addictive?and how strong is it as a medication? ## Cilift contains the active ingredient Citalopram, which is an SSRI antidepressant, so no it isn't actually addictive. Learn more Citalopram details here. It may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth and weight changes. As to how strong it is, that's really difficult to say with this class of medications, it really depends on how well it works for the individual taking it. Not everyone gets the same results from it. Are there any other questions or comments?
