I have recently seen pharmacies carrying Cialis in strengths up to 200mg. I'm curious, I thought that 20mg was the highest recommended dosage. Has anybody tried dosages above 20mg? What results? Are doctors prescribing dosages above 20mg? ## Are you sure it was Cialis and not one of those over the counter herbals that are claimed to help with ED? There is no 200mg Cialis, the maximum dosage currently available in the U.S. are 10mg tablets. I am a healthy 53 year old, with E.D. issues - stress, age, unknown. I have been trying Cialis for about 1.5 weeks with poor results. Got a 20 mg Cialis prescription. Tried to split them with my regular pill splitter but it crumbled pretty badly. Any suggestions or special splitter since they are oval shaped? Dr said to split them long ways. If they are still in a factory sealed container, they are good for about 4 to 5 years. However, if they are in a pharmacy dispensed bottle that leaves them exposed to the elements that cause degradation, they are only good for about a year, before they begin to lose efficacy, under FDA standards. Healthy fit 69 year old that takes no meds. Cut a 20mg in half and took first half and first ever dose at 915am on Fri. From 12:15 pm til 6pm it had plenty of opportunities and reasons to work but nothing. Took the second half at 6:30pm Fri evening and still no help and suddenly around 8:30pm some of the listed side effects kicked it.The desired good effects never materialized and the negative side effects lasted Fri night and thru all of Sat. Later I did read that I shouldn't have taken two doses but in my defense I had read that some people were taking a 20mg dosage all at once which was my total intake with the 2 doses spread over 9 hours. Hello, this is my first post. I took Viagra for 20 years with excellent results. Suddenly it quit working. So I tried 15 mg Cialis, and it worked great after about 8 hours. I was a raging bull for about 3-4 days. The following week, I lowered the dose to 10 mg and.....nothing, zero after 8 hours. My new girlfriend was so disappointed that I don't think she will ever come back. The next morning, about 18 hours after taking the 10 mg Cialis, it kicked in. Of course, my girl was long gone by then. So frustrating. My husband's age is 69. He is taking Amlodipine Besylate 5mg. He has just been prescribed Cialis and Flomax 0.4mg. for ED and BPH. Is there any "current" research showing a risk for lowering blood pressure to a dangerous low when taking all 3 meds conurrently? I have read that the FDA approved Cialis for urinary symptoms of prostate enlargement in 2011. His urinary problem is not severe...why could he not use Cialis to treat both ED & BPH and drop the Flomax? Also he plans to have cataract surgery and I have read that IFIS is caused by alpha blockers & can complicate surgery even months after stopping use of Flomax.
