I am prescribed peridex for oral use. While traveling in Italy, I ran out of the liquid. Visiting a pharmacy, I obtained chlorhexidine gel. Name: Plax-Gel. This product is so much more effective, twice the strength, and it travels well as compared to the liquid. Product of Switzerland and Italy. It does not seem to be available in the USA. Anyone know about its availability? Anywhere? ## Hello, Kate! How are you? You are correct, it doesn't appear that the gel is available in the U.S., I'm sorry. Thus, obtaining it elsewhere for import would be considered illegal. The FDA classifies this as an antimicrobial. Its typical side effects may possibly include nausea, blistering, burning and headache. Is there anything else I can help with? ## Thanks Vern. Showed the tube of gel to my ...

I had 4 teeth pulled out and had no infection...my gum is swollen and I'm on amoxicillin as well as tylenol #3 and chlorhexidine rinse. Everything was going good until I started the rinse yesterday. I know it's only been 2 days and some bruising is normal but my gum is swollen and hurts so bad. Should I keep using the rinse? Will it help heal my gum faster? ## Hello, Stephanie! How are you doing? Has there been any change? Yes, you should continue using it, as instructed. The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including terrible taste, nausea and oral irritation. I know it is annoying, I had to use it for awhile, after I had all of my remaining teeth removed to get dentures, I didn't like it, either. As to the pain and swelling, that is normal, however, if it wor...
2 REPLIES Filed under AmoxicillinI'm a vegetarian and need to take Peridex. Are there any animal ingredients in this product? Thank you. ## Not being a vegetarian, I don't know what is or isn't an animal product, but other than the active ingredient Chlorhexidine, here is the inactive ingredient list: Water, 11.6% alcohol, glycerin, PEG-40 sorbitan diisostearate, flavor, sodium saccharin, and FD&C Blue No. 1.
1 REPLY Filed under PeridexInsight Pharmaceuticals has recently changed the Nostrilla formula they have been using for years. They have added a preservative to it. The problem is, it makes many people's noses swell and burn for about 20-30 minutes and doesn't work as well. This Petition is to see is we can make our voices heard and help bring back a product many of us have used and loved for years. a petition link is below. ipetitions.com/petition/bring-back-original-nostrilla ## Based on my research, The new Nostrilla formula contains Hydrochloric acid and Chlorhexidine, a topical antiseptic that has been proven to cause irritation. According to the FDA, in 2011 Insight Pharmaceuticals issued a recall of "Nostrilla Nasal Decongestant" due to bacterial contamination. Hopefully another recall will ...
4 REPLIES Filed under Nostrillais Galocipro the same as clorex is it for stomachs due to food poisings is food poising when u have stomach ache but no diaharr ## Hi Sharon, Food poisoning can certainly cause stomach aches as well as diarrhea, but every case may be different and vary in so far as what symptoms you experience and how severe they are. Regarding Galocipro and Clorex, I'm not seeing either of these even listed as a medication or dietary supplement.. so I don't know if the spelling is wrong or if it may be some type of foreign product... Where did you first hear about them? NOTE: Chlorhexidine and Clorox are the only two remotely close names I found to Clorex, of products that actually exist (at least here in the US). If you could provide any additional information on these drug names and/or their ...
