I seem to have à vitamine b18 defieciency .... What does that effect? ## Hello, Monty! How are you? That would be choline, which the NIH lists as helping to reduce the risk of neural tube defects, fatty liver disease and other body pathologies. It is an essential component of your cell membranes. It can be supplemented via diet, by eating foods, such as cauliflower, broccoli, eggs, chicken, milk, grapefruit and almonds. What solution has been recommended for you? ## Make sure to eat different types of healthy food. It is that EASY. How many international units (I.U.) are in 2.0 mcg of Vitamin B12? ## 120mcg of Vitamin K2 is equivalent to how many IU? ## I have never seen vitamin B-12 measured in (I.U) international units. It's almost always measured in micrograms. From what I've read, 2.4 mcg per day, is reportedly the FDA's recommended dietary allowance (RDA) for vitamin B12. The conversion charts that I've come across supporting MCG to IU only pertain to the following vitamins: A, B1 through B6, C, D & E. Perhaps contacting a local pharmacy may be your best bet? However, it seems to me that as long as you can measure the recommended daily allowance (e.g. 100% daily value) then that should be adequate enough for determining how much should be taken in any 24hr period unless specifically told o...

How long will B12 remain usable past the expiration date? ## When it comes to vitamins I think it is best to not take any chances with the past expiration date if it's been more than a few weeks to a month. They MAY still be ok to take if they haven't been exposed to a high amount of heat or various other conditions outside of the bottle, however I am not a pharmacist or MD, so I cannot guarantee if it is in fact safe for you to consume. There is still a high likelihood that it lost some of its potency and MAY be ineffective to the point where it could harm your body by not doing it's job all the way, per say. I would recommend contacting your local pharmacy or doctor to assess if the quality of the drug still remains. They may have certain tools, charts, or methods for meas...

I've been on 10 mg Simvastatin for 3 months. It was prescribed after a TIA landed me in the ER one evening. Extensive testing was done including the CT, Echo, and others. ALL were totally normal. I figured from the get go that my extreme stress level (an easy 25) was the culprit. My cholesterol was 220 and that set off alarm buttons. It has been 240 for years so I wasn't in the least bit concerned. Other things were prescribed on my chart including coumadin which I refused. I take vitamins & minerals (fish oil, flax oil, D3, SE, CA, and others) daily and have for years. Reluctantly I agreed to try the simvastatin 10 mg for 60 days. First lab work showed cholesterol at 178 and I said enough. Realizing I'd have to back off a little slowly, I'm now taking 5 mg for 30 da...
