Chantix Return

I have been taking chantex for almost 3 weeks. The week I stopped I did good. I was on a trip that week, but after returning home I have had a hard time with it. Is there a chance I need more than the two a day? Please help. I want this to work so badly. Thanks. ## No one can really answer that for you, except for your doctor. Hi, on day two I woke up with this horrible metallic acidy bad taste in my mouth, mostly my tongue. I searched the Internet for help. I tried the following: Gargling with salt water, no effect. Gargling with baking soda, no effect. Eating drinking citris - somewhat effective Spraying my mouth with sore throat medicine - short term effect Started taking Zinc- BAD TASTE VANISHED - EFFECTIVE! ## Ironically enough, Chantix does list "having a bad taste in the mouth" pretty much word for word as a general side effect. So I wouldn't be surprised at all if it never went away until you stopped taking the medication. I have been taking Chantix for about a month now and decided tonight that I must stop. From day one I have been nauseated and increasingly depressed. I have a history of depression and anxiety - I have also began to notice that when I eat a lot of sugar, I get a rush of energy and then within an hour or so I feel terrible. Is it okay to just stop this medication and how long will it take to be out of my system? ## Hello, Pinky! How are you doing? It may take a week or two, before you start to feel back to normal. However, that reaction to eating a lot of sugar is normal and may continue. It's just not good for our bodies to overdo it. Is there anything else I can help with?

I'm 2 weeks in with chantix and stopped smoking a week in. Can I stop the pill. ## Hello, Kenny! How are you? Congratulations on quitting!!! However, you should continue that medication for whatever period of time your doctor instructs you to do so. Stopping too early may cause the nicotine cravings to return, so you may start smoking, again. The FDA lists the typical side effects of this medication as possibly including: nausea, dizziness, headache, insomnia and constipation. Is there anything else I can help with?

How long does it take for Chantix to be completely out of my system after stopping last dose? ## My husband took chantix 4 years ago and hasn't returned to normal yet. I know that medically the chantix has left his body. I also know medically that once your neurotransmitters have been altered that there is no way to repair them. Should I be prepared to live with this "new" husband that frankly would not have gotten a second date. Any insight will be greatly appreciated
