is Oxycontin going back to their old formula? OC instead of OP. ## At this time, Purdue has no plans to return to the original formula. They released this new one, with the specific intention of helping to prevent abuse of the product and discontinued making the original, when they did so. They claim, however, that it works the same and causes the same side effects: nausea, drowsiness, dizziness and constipation. Read more: Are there any questions or comments? ## They re not even remotely close to the original OC formula. I'm concerned about what this new formula might be doing to me. At least I knew the olf formula eventually disolved, I'm not sure about this new version. Hopefully someone will make a similiar version as soon as they are allowed. I think the original patent exp...

Has anybody tried Opana vs OC 80? Any feedback would be helpful. ## What dosage of the Opana? The Oxymorphone in it is actually twice as strong as the Oxycodone, so if you were taking 40mgs of it, then the equivalent dose of Oxycodone would be 80mgs. Both can be effective at controlling pain, it just requires a dosage adjustment. You should also know that there are no more Oxycontin OCs. Purdue has changed the formulation and they are now Oxycontin OP. Are there any questions or comments? Does anyone else have advice to add? ## i have and they work fair for pain but made me very tired. ## DO NOT GET THE NEW OPANA 40MG ER, THEY ARE JUCK A LORTAB 10/325 WORK BETTER BEFORE A OPANA WOULD BLOW OXYCONTIN THE NEW ONE (OP)AWAY BUT NOT NOW,MY DR PUT ME BACK ON THE NEW OPANA DO NOT WORK IN 2 WEEK...

I have been on large doses of opioid pain medicine for 8 years. My conditions require it for me to walk and do anything out of bed. Now they are stopping it. I'm not ready to lay down the last couple years of my life, I want to spend it standing. Opioids have been used over 4000 years and a very smart Indian rheumatologist told me they have killed less people than most of the man made pharmaceuticals. My dose is high, but never needed changed. I really need a Pittsburgh doctor that can help me with the next 2 years of my life. I would placate the doctors and just go to bed, but I have 2 perfect boys. Unfortunately my youngest, 16, started having epilepsy in October. He needs me to get through this. His straight As are slipping, and he needs me up. He brought his computer in my room, ...

I was diagnosed with bone cancer several years ago and prior to during and after surgery I was prescribed oc 80mg. Which most of the time worked to relieve my pain. After being blessed (or not now) and survived they changed to the op. understand why but in all honestly it ruined my pain managment. By not helping as well and I believe causing other problems as well. It doesn't cover my pain doesn't last as long and if I miss one dose I get very ill. Please purdue pharma do the right thing and help those that use it properly and that were lucky to survive go back to oc's or bring back 160's. Imbegging you do the right thing. We get treated bad enough from the stigma of oxy atleast give it to those who take and need the medication as prescribed. Sincerely. In constant pain ...

Got a pill that had OC on the front and 40 on the back...Took it and felt nothing... Looked at pics online and noticed the 4 on the 40 imprint was different. .. the online pics has the 4 open and not joined...Actually mine looked like ( 40).. the 4 is closed not open... im thinking its fake.. ## Hello, Rufus! How are you? It most likely was, because these are no longer being manufactured. Purdue changed the formulation to help prevent abuse and the new tablets use the marking OP on them. They discontinued the original formulation with the OC on them. The FDA lists Oxycodone as being a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. It's best not to take anything that hasn...

I got my Oxycontin (name brand) today and thought i had gotten the generic because it had OP imprinted on it instead of th regular OC imprinted on it. I ask my phamacist what was going on and he said that Oxycontin had changed their logo. I noticed the pill was slighly bigger so when i took my pill i noticed it give me heartburn really bad just like the generic did when i tried the generic. Now i am in pain, i have the heartburn, and i don't know if i will be able to hold this new formular down because i am so sick at my stomach. Do you think Purdue will ever change the formula of Oxycontin back to the original? I sure hope so. I am going to start a petition to get the old formula back again. I've been taking the oxycontin oc for years now. I want to know what exactly is in the new oxycontin op? PLEASE HELP ## The new Oxycontin OP are replacing the original Oxycontin. They contain the same active ingredient Oxycodone, in a time released formulation. The only difference is that they have been specially formulated to help prevent abuse. Even if someone tries to crush or chew them, they retain their time released properties. Side effects are still the same: nausea, drowsiness, dizziness and constipation. Do you have any questions? ## Well I've been on this medicine for over 5 years now, and YES it has changed. I don't know how they are getting away with calling it the same thing? They are absolutely not, all in active ingredients have changed. Headaches, Nausea, Sto...

OC ONE SIDE OTHER 80 GREEN ROUND PILL ## I can't post a picture for you, due to copyright reasons, however, I can confirm that a pill meeting this description, with those markings is an 80mg Oxycontin tablet. This is the original Oxycontin product. Purdue has recently changed the Oxycontin formulation, to help prevent abuse and the new pills have an OP on them and they have discontinued manufacture of ones with the OC on them. Oxycontin is a narcotic pain reliever, so common side effects may include: nausea, drowsiness, dizziness and dry mouth. Read more: Are there any questions or comments?

I was receiving Oxycontin 80mg OC, but then they changed it to the reformulated Oxycontin 80mg OP. I never had a problem with the old version BUT now i get right side cramping. Is this because new version is not made properly? ## every 1 that gets the new oc should complain so much they hav to go back to the old 1s ## I am NOT getting the same pain relief with these new pills. And I've noted a change in 'digestion' issues. Is the gummy junk in these little hockey puck pills clogging up our insides? ## reformulatated oxycontin has something very wrong with it it makes me feel like i want to hurt myself or others very aggitated frustratecrying snaping at everyone i have been on this a very long time never felt like this until taking the reformulated oxycontin. does anyone elsf...

Yes having the same problem. I have four herniated discs and the original OC 80 would do the job but OP's to come close to doing the same job your talking twice the dose easily. Any info would be awesome ## Hello, Unfortunately I'm having trouble finding the answer to your question on the web, I even checked the FDA site and wasn't able to find any information on the topic. I read a report from 2011 that Purdue pharma stopped making Oxycontin..but that I'm to sure if anything has changed since then. Have you checked with any local pharmacies? Since they are the ones who provide medication, they would very likely know what is/isn't in stock at this time... You may even try contacting Purdue Pharma, it never hurts to go straight to the source! If you have any more ques...

I was on 200mgs of oc and they changed the formula and all I did was stay sick from it. The Dr switched me to opana er and the insurance wont't pay for it so what do I do now ## Have you and your doctor discussed your possibly using Morphine? There is also a time released version of it, called MS Contin and it is available as a generic, so most insurances will cover it. It is also a narcotic, so the side effects would be similar and can include: nausea, drowsiness, dry mouth and dizziness. Learn more: ## have Md get prior op. its. a from his MA sends into them. if still does work get copy of their formula (which. is want they will cover.) oh, and ask if Md has any coupons which helps the costs. ## OP other side and 40 peach/ beige color small round pill

I'm taking Hydrochlorothiazide for water retention due to a side effect from high estrogen levels in my birth control. I take 25 mg every morning, and haven't been able to sleep at all in the past three nights. I've looked it up online and haven't found anywhere saying that it causes loss of sleep. Is that a side effect of hydrochlorothiazide or is there just something else wrong with me? Because I haven't changed any other medications, or habits since then. It's the only thing I can think of that's causing this. ## Hi Hannah, There are actually quite a few side effects listed that, in my opinion, could indirectly result in loss of sleep/insomnia-related symptoms. I recently was told by my pharmacist that oxycontin8o mg.O.C. was no longer available thru Perdue. Perdue reformulated the medication and noe has O.P. instead of O.C>on the pill. This new formulation is very upsetting to my stomach. Please advise. ## There are a few pharmacies that still have the original product available, but this will only be until their supplies run out. Your pharmacist is correct, Purdue has changed the formulation and is no longer making the original product. There have been many complaints that it does not work as well as the original and about it causing unusual side effects. Since you are experiencing more nausea, you should report this to both Purdue and the FDA. You can do so at the following phone numbers: Purdue Pharma number for drug safety/medication ...

Hi, There I am suffering from gout, since I changed my blood pressure medication its been worse then ever. My doctor said that prexuim plus could cause this, but the specialist opinion diffres. Could prexuim plus influence gout? ## Hi Johan, Based on my research, the medication "Prexum Plus" contains Indapamide and Perindopril. Studies show that Indapamide can cause Hyperuricemia; which is a high level of uric acid in the blood. Gout usually occurs when the uric acid is deposited as needle-like crystals in the joints and/or soft tissues- and according to the National institute of Arthritis and Muskuloskeletal and Skin diseases, Hyperuricemia is a symptom of gout. Also, I've heard that most blood pressure medications can cause excess uric acid levels which could result in gou...

these 15 mg tablets of oxycodone along with the light blue 30 mg oxycodone have become the biggest fad now that they have changed ocs to ops everyone and their mom is trying to get their hands on these oxycodones for abuse - both the 15 and the 30... ## The abuse of any medication is a very dangerous practice and something this site does not condone. Therefore, I am posting some basic warning information for others that may read this post in the future. Oxycodone is a very potent narcotic, with well-known addictive potential. On top of the risk of overdose, there are also other risks that can be associated with using it improperly, such as organ and cardiovascular injury. Are there any questions or comments?

Hi there, New to this forum, and appreciate any replies/feedback. My PM doc (who has changed my meds each visit x3) Rx'ed Nucynta 50mg 3x day, a change from Percocet 10/325mg 3x day for BTP. Also switched to Oxycontin 10mg every 12 hours (from Opana ER) Stated he wished to "lighten any burden on my lungs" given my medical status: pulmonary nodules which are increasing in size, both lungs, biopsy next month; severe asthma, residual COPD S/P bilateral PE's 10 years ago. Using Symbicort inhaler. I am uncertain how Nucynta would lighten the burden on my lungs, given the warning about lung conditions/impairment, and specifically asthma--of course, respiratory depression can occur with many pain meds. I also have hypothyroidism & seizures, which are both listed in precauti...

Is it normal to have bruising after having a stent put in through the groin? My husband had this procedure done a week ago. ## Hello, Lady d! How are you? Yes, bruising can occur after almost any invasive medical procedure, including dental extractions and actual full surgery. You can read more about it in the details provided by the NIH. Anything that requires the tissue to be cut, ripped open or manipulated in any unusual manner can result in bruising. Has it changed, any? A healing bruise should gradually go from the darkish color to a pale yellowish or greenish shade, which denotes improvement. If you're concerned, then please speak to his doctor.
