I was just diagnosed with fibro. I have EBV, chronic mono, chronic fatigue syndrome, depression, anxiety, you name it. I've been to so many different spec. And they all gave me different diagnosis. My back and legs feel like they are on fire. I just turned 22 and can't even walk up two flights of stairs. I get migraines and head aches all the time. I fell asleep at my work desk one day due to the fatigue. I was put on b12 shots and cymbalta. not helping. It's also my neck and shoulders. Nothing even seems to put a dent in it. I'm taking to many NSAIDS. I can't sleep at night. I have adhd and insomnia as well. What are some meds I can talk about with my dr? Can you give me any advice? I am very desperate. I'm tired of this taking over my life at such a young age. ...

Hello, I'm looking for a Dr who understands and is up to date on the most current Medical research and information concerning Fibromyalgia, CFS and Lupus. I was on medication for 7 years for the above chronic illnesses and an accident which caused damage to various areas Lumbar 7, degenerative disc, etc. But, I know it's not as bad as many of the people who post on here requiring surgery etc. But, I went off all my medications in 201. Due, to money crisis, Dr passed away, etc. I'm 51 and had no choice back then due to a personal crisis as well but, to take any work I could find. So I cleaned homes & danced until I could finally secure a job at a restaurant until the pain became to miserable at that point my boyfriend asked me to move in (2013) and have been maintaining r...

As a CFS patient I started using Nevramin to beat anemia. I am familiar with giving myself injections and I used injectable Nevramin. I injected only twice in my upperlegs, but it got swollen and was too painful. After 3 weeks the upper leg muscles are still sore and stiff as if it has shortened the muscles. Unlike B12 (more energy the day after) I had no benefits from Nevramin. ## Nevramin is a vitamin B complex and there is the possibility that a bolus formed in the muscle, which caused the problem. Did you massage the area, after givings yourself the shots? This can help make sure that it is all absorbed and not left to sit, which can create such soreness and yes, it can linger for quite awhile. You also may be sensitive to some ingredient in it. Have you talked to your doctor about ...

I take LDN for CFS and it’s been amazing. I also have athletes foot for the first time in my life and it won’t go away. I have been using lamisil for a month. My doctor had me take the yeast infection pill once, then again a week later. I haven’t taken the 2nd pill yet, but it hasn’t improved and I remember when I started LDN some people reported chronic yeast infections. Does anyone have any info or experience with this? I don’t want to give up the LDN for a week or two but I will if it’ll help me fix my foot. It hurts to walk now. ## Hi, I’m Beth, 66 years old and have dealt with Dr.’s and pharmaceuticals for years! When I was eight years old I ended up hospitalized for a year and they diagnosed me with Epstein bar and, yellow jaundice, ...

Elavil 50 mg nite. Do acupuncture, chiropractor helps. If I'm active then I nose dive it immense pain. Epsom salts bath helps. Have Vicoden 350mg, if I take it on a regular basis I itch then have to take a shot of benadryl. I'm 71 and would like part of my life back. Is there anything that will help? ## Hello, Lyn! How are you? I'm very sorry that you're in so much pain. Has your doctor made any other suggestions? There are other options you could try, such as Oxycontin, Oxycodone regular release or Dilaudid. They are all classified by the FDA as narcotic analgesics, s...

I have cfs since 1987 and fibro since 1994 (adrenal fatigue is the true illness). Recently I notice I have low blood volume, my pulse is always rapid, I get maybe 2-3 hours of sleep in 24 hours, high blood pressure, as well as other symptoms. I read clonidine will specifically help with all these symptoms. I just started a .1 once a day rx. I was very hopeful about this drug helping me but I am reading so much about people having bad experiences. Is this an addictive drug? My doctor and pharmacist did not say it was an addictive drug. If you have taken this drug did you become addicted? I am worried now. Although, I have to admit, my life in the last several months hasn't been a life. No sleep, can't stand up for than a few minutes, dizzy when standing from laying down. Thanks f...

I do not have CFS, but I have been experiencing pretty severe fatigue on a daily basis for over 2 months. I began 150 mg of Nuvigil 3 days ago. It seems to have given me a lift but I still feel tired. I'm wondering: -what is the usual effective dosage of nuvigil for this type of problem? -and, does it have to build up in your system for a while before it's effectiveness can be judged or is it a short-acting med that is only effective for a little while after it's taken? ## There isn't a recommended dosage for chronic fatigue, as it isn't usually used to treat that. The normal dose for conditions it is used to treat, such as shift work sleep disorder and narcolepsy is 150mg once daily, just as you are on. And yes, it can take a few weeks for you body to get used to th...

Why are amphetamines so difficult to get prescribed when you suffer from disabling cfs? These are the only thing that help to have a life. ## Hello, Angie! How are you? I'm sorry about the problem you're having. But the reasons are due to the facts that this medication tends to be habit forming and is very commonly abused, thus most doctor's are reluctant to prescribe such stimulants. The FDA lists the typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, irritability and mood swings. Is there anything else I can help with? ## Many people can get addicted to stimulants. Also their is a "responsibility" to maintain the person using the drugs.

I am hurting very bad with this weather in cleveland ohio. please HELP. Thank U ## Hello, Chocogal2! How are you? The easiest thing to do would likely be to ask your regular doctor to refer you to a colleague. Most doctors are more inclined to be cooperative and prescribe when they know someone is coming from a fellow respected physician Does anyone know of any good doctors in that area? ## Looking for a dr to prescribe Percocet or Vicodin.Had a back surgery in 2005 for a b...

Rintatolimod, sold under the tradename Ampligen, is a medication intended for treatment of chronic fatigue syndrome (CFS).[1] There is some evidence it may improve some CFS symptoms.[1] It is an immunomodulatory double-stranded RNA drug similar to the prototypical RNA poly I:C, first synthesized in the 1970s and manufactured by Hemispherx Biopharma, which was later renamed AIM ImmunoTech.[2] Although Ampligen was initially cleared for use in Can...

Has anybody else been prescribed this medication for hot flashes? I have fibromyglia, CFS, nerve damage in my legs, Osteoarthritis in both knees, herniated disks in my neck, and three bulging disks in my lower back. I also have terrible insomnia. After reading all of the side affects I am afraid to even try it. I am also taking 60mg er mscontin 3 times a day, Valium 10mg 3 times a day, and Xanax 1mg at bedtime for sleep. And D3 2000 iu once a day. Any help would be appreciated. ## Hello, Bettyboob! How are you? Yes, it's actually become very common to prescribe a medication like this for hot flashes and other female hormonal symptoms, since they are not as dangerous a hormonal replacement therapy and usually help with a broad range of symptoms. I am trying to find a doctor near Portland, OR that will prescribe Qsymia for me. I am severely overweight and struggle with CFS so energy is a major problem when trying to lose weight on my own. ## Hello, Christina! How are you? Unfortunately, there's no directory of doctors that I can refer to for you according to what they will or will not prescribe. The only thing you can really do is see a doctor, discuss your problem with them and ask them about trying it. Do you currently have a PCP that you see regularly? If so, they may prescribe it, or refer you to someone that can help. Qysimia is an extended release medication that's used to aid in weight loss. Side effects may include nausea, dizziness, headache, irritability and anorexia. ## Let me know if you found a Doc!

I started nuvigil 1/4 of 150mg tablet or 37mg in the morning. The first two weeks were great , it was like my mind was awake(but I my body still felt tired-CFS/ME) then the muscles in the back of my neck near my spine started to feel extreme muscle pain, then the neck pain grew to pain along my entire spine , from my neck along my spine to my low back, 8 out of 10 pain and stiffness along this area, then by the next week, the pain and stiffness was across my entire back , top to bottom and spread out to the sides of my spine. I am stopping Nuvigil today as I have linked my back pain , spine muscle pain, and neck pain to Nuvigil , and I only took 1/8 of a 150 mg tablet today, or 18 mg today . I am in so much pain 9 out of 10 in muscle and stiffness neck and back pain . ## Hello, Mary! Ho...

This thread is to discuss Ibogaine as a means to treat Depression and Pain Management, including, but not limited to, anxiety, IBS, joint pain, brain fog, shortness of breath, backpain, FMS, CFS, anhedonia, sleep problems, racing thoughts, loss of libido -- symptoms which are often associated with depression. I would like to start a discussion on the subject since there is a lack of information regarding Ibogaine as a viable treatment option for Depression. Most information on the web only deals with Addiction treatment. This is an off-shoot of the thread Ketamine for Depression. You can find more information regarding my past history with depression and avenues of treatment that I've pursued in that thread (for example see post # 392 over there). Ibogaine. I was taking Effexor 150 mg since March 08, and just yesterday my doctor switched me to Prestiq 50 mg. I haven't been reading too many great reviews about it? Is it very similar to Effexor? I got many side effects with Effexor. Cold sweat, tiredness, no sex drive etc. ## I just started Pretiq today. Suppose to have less side effects then Effexor or Cymbalta. I need to take it for my Fibromyalga and CFS - suppose to lower the PH (what ever that is) and that is suppose to help with the pain. Good Luck! ## This is a SSNRI antidepressant, so its side effects will be similar to other drugs in this class. In addition, there is no way to know how many side effects you may experience, until you actually use it, since they can vary from person to person. ## I started pristiq last about 4 day...

Having been experimented with and suffered daily side effects of many other drugs to deal with fibromyalgia and related pain disorders; I am reluctant after reading the others reports of increased insomnia, severe sweats, nausea to the point of vomiting, not to mention increased blood pressure and heart attack risks. I have got to be my own best advocate and exercise caution. This is a relatively new drug on the market and notice that it is being recalled in Europe. Would like to hear others thoughts on this subject. ## Laurie. I too am a Fibro/CFS patient of 22 yrs, and have tried practically 'everything' under the sun.
