I have high blood pressure. Will this medicine make it higher? ## Hi, Sharon! How are you? And yes, it may elevate your blood pressure and heart rate, most antihistamines can do so. Whether or not you can take one will usually depend on how much it can raise it and what your blood pressure readings have been. For instance, I was given permission to take Benadryl and since it works so well for allergies, I've pretty much stuck with it ever since. Learn more Benadryl details here. You may want to ask your doctor about taking it, since it doesn't usually cause as much of an elevation as most others. Do you take any other medications?

I have a one-year old daughter and she has allergies. She also has rashes on her face, hands, and legs, and is frequently attacked by asthma. Her pediatrician prescribed alnix drops 2.5ml for two weeks and then 1ml once a day until she reaches 2 yrs old. I am having doubts the fact that alnix drops have its side effects on babies. Is it really safe to take alnix drops for more than two weeks? I hope you could answer my doubts. Thanks! ## Cetirizine is an antihistamine, that is commonly used to treat allergies. In the U.S. it is most commonly found under the trade name Zyrtec and is quite often used for children and, when necessary, is used on a long-term basis. In most cases, when someone suffers from such severe allergic reactions, it is necessary that they take some type of medication...

After taking Cetirizine Hydrochloride I am having awful eye problems ... straight lines are bouncing all over the place and my vision is so blurry which is apparently a rare side effect. Obviously I stopped the tablets (after taking 2). Has anyone else had this? I took it last year with no problems. How long before my eye sight gets better? Does anyone know? ## Vision issues can be a side effect of most antihistamines, if you only took 2 of them, it might be best for you to try a different medication, since that is rather severe. It usually takes about a week, or so, for things to improve, but if the issue persists, you should consult your doctor about trying a different medication. The FDA lists other side effects as possibly including headache, dry mouth, and drowsiness. Are you on an...

I am the mother of 3 boys & a daughter. All 3 of my boys have had a seizure before! My youngest was 9 months old, & it was a febrile seizure, which is quite common in younger children. My older 2 were not sick or feverish at the time, so it was scary and baffling! For one son I was told pretty much that it was a mystery and that sometimes things ...

Can i take a Cetrizine hydrocholride 10 mg tablet twice daily for a cold? I am a 60 year old lady. ## This is an antihistamine that is used to treat allergies, it will not help with a cold and the symptoms caused by a cold. The NIH lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, and dry mouth. Is there anything else I can help with? ## 100% incorrect. Certirizine is incredibly effective for headcolds. It clears sinuses way FASTER than a decongestant.

Cetirizine, the active ingredient in Zyrtec, is an antihistamine that is used to treat or prevent allergy symptoms, however, it can cause drowsiness in some people, as a side effect. As to how much of a dosage you should take, you should really consult your doctor, especially if you are on any other medications and have other health conditions.
