I had taken generic Zyrtec for years and decided to stop many months ago. I had no withdrawal symptoms when I stopped until a week ago I broke out in a rash on my arms, then spread to my neck, chest and thighs. Terrible itching and redness. Wondering if my rash is related to the discontinuation of Zyrtec. Has anyone else experienced this? From what I have been reading, most people have withdrawal symptoms as soon as they stop taking this drug. ## Hi Rose, Sorry to hear about your situation. After taking Cetirizine Hydrochloride I am having awful eye problems ... straight lines are bouncing all over the place and my vision is so blurry which is apparently a rare side effect. Obviously I stopped the tablets (after taking 2). Has anyone else had this? I took it last year with no problems. How long before my eye sight gets better? Does anyone know? ## Vision issues can be a side effect of most antihistamines, if you only took 2 of them, it might be best for you to try a different medication, since that is rather severe. It usually takes about a week, or so, for things to improve, but if the issue persists, you should consult your doctor about trying a different medication. The FDA lists other side effects as possibly including headache, dry mouth, and drowsiness. Are you on an...

cetirizine hydrochloride? This is a round fairly small pill with ZS on one side and 906 on the other. I received them as generic zyrtec but I can't find it on the internet. Is it one possible generic pill for zyrtec? It doesn't seem like it's working for my allergies so I figured I should check it out. usually the generics are white oblong pills. I got them from walgreens. ## I received same pills and no they don't work the same as zertec. I can't find anything on it either. ## Its actually SZ 906 which is Cetirizine which is used for an allergy pill. But if that doesn't help you can take that pill (Cetirizine) and Singulare. ## Yes, this tablet is listed as containing 10mgs of Cetirizine, which is most commonly used to treat, or prevent allergic reactions. The F...

Could taking 10mg of Cetirizine Hydrochloride clear up a UTI or would I need a stronger antibiotic initially? ## Hello, Larissa! How are you? Sorry about the UTI. However, Cetirizine is not an antibiotic. It's an antihistamine that's used to treat allergies. Learn more Cetirizine details here. Thus, it won't do anything to treat a UTI. Have you consulted your doctor? They'll need to confirm the presence of an infection and prescribe you an appropriate antibiotic, if one is present.
