I am taking 500mg of Cephalexin for Mastitis. One doc said 4x a day for a week. Pharmacist said 2x a day for 2 weeks. Does it matter? Due to nausea I would rather take 2x a day for a longer period. My wife was prescribed Cephalexin for a stye and I was wondering since it is an antibiotic, whether it is okay for her to be out in the sun? I could not find anything on the included drug label insert specifically mentioning sun exposure risks, but I thought I would check seeing as how other antibiotics are known to increase sensitivity to sunlight. Any feedback appreciated. It is consistent dosing that's important, you have to keep it in your system at a consistent regular level, in order for it to eradicate the bacteria. So, you can take it, either way, whichever works best for you, but keep the timing as precise as possible. If you take 2 of them twice a day, keep them as close to 12 hours apart as possible; or if you take it 4 times a day, keep them as close to 6 hours apart as possible. I take 1 at night 1 in the morning. For the past two weeks I have had a cough and cold. I tried solmux but it's still the same so last saturday I tried ambroxol and my mom suggested that I also have to take cephalexin? Is it OK to take these two medications at the same time? I've undergone 4 chest xrays in just 2 months before I had this cough so I'm afraid to go get an xray again because they say its bad for my health. Please I need advice. And yes, it is in a different antibiotic class, but that doesn't necessary mean that you may not be allergic to it, as well. Hey im a young girl and ive recently been prescribed ibilex 500 (Cephalaxin) it is a 5 day course I am supposed to take 2000mg each day till its finished. Cephalexin 500mg caps nov didn't upset my stomach the way apo cephalexin 500mg (orange tablet) does. What is difference and are both as effective? ## They are the same medication, in the same dosage, just manufactured by different companies, so they are both equally effective.
