Cefpodoxime 200mg

I have been put on 200mg of Cefpodoxime for life. I had an infected TKR (knee replacement) and infection was not stopped. I have had now my third TKR and the doctor has put me on this antibiotic. It has kept the infection away for about a year and a half now but wondering what side effects or concerns I should have. I try to periodically look up anyone that takes antibiotics daily and I can never find anyone. Can I stop at some point? is this bad? The antibiotic does keep the infection away and I don't want another infection again but this still seems extreme. Any thoughts? ## Hello, Anderson! How are you? ORANGE PILL FOOTBALL SHAPED WITH THE NUMBERS 5229 ON THE FRONT ## This is actually a veterinary medication, called Simplicef, it contains 200mgs of Cefpodoxime, it is approved to treat canine skin infections. Unfortunately, I am not sure what types of side effects it may cause in animals. Are there any other questions or comments?

Is this a canine antibiotic? ## In most cases, the same antibiotics are used for canines and humans. This pill contains 200mgs of Cefpodoxime, a generic for Vantin. This is an antibiotic. Some of the most common side effects include: drowsiness, rash, nausea and diarrhea. ## Thank you very much - my dog started this 3 days ago and he keeps vomiting a few hours after taking it - I was wondering if I should cut the tablet in 1/2 and give it to him 2x's a day instead of one? ## I suggest consult with the vet, they'll have a better idea of how to handle it.

I am trying to figure out what kind of pill this is. I was told it was Xanex but it's definitely not. Does ANYONE know what this damn pill is?? I have searched different colors, sites, everything.
