I have been on gabapentin for a week know not having any relief. Doctor prescribed it for carpal tunnel. Any suggestions for me need some relief fast unable to sleep due to the pain. Thank you! ## Hello, Bella! How are you? Gabapentin is not an analgesic, so it will not work that fast to help with pain. It is an anticonvulsant that can help with some types of nerve pain, due to the way it acts on brain chemicals, but it will take about 4 to 6 weeks to reach its full efficacy level in your body to see if it will help you. Side effects may include nausea, dizziness, dry mouth, mood swings and weight changes. Is there anything else I can help with? ## Actually when taking gabapentin you will get pain relief both immediately and as it builds up in your system. I got this information from bo...

I have been taking methycobal 500MCG and neurobion tab but not much relief. Any better medication? ## Both of those are actually only nutritional supplements, so they will only help if your condition is caused because you are lacking in some vital nutrient. Since such a thing is not what causes Carpal Tunnel, it is not really that surprising that you have not gotten any relief. Have you tried anything else? There are some other medications that actually work for pain that may help. Such as opiates: or muscle relaxants: Many cases of Carpal Tunnel require bracing and surgery: Has your doctor suggested anything?

My doctor subscribed Lyrica for my RSD (CRPS) 10 mos ago. I had shoulder rotator cuff repair, clavider bone removed last May. 4 or 5 nerve blocks; and carpal tunnel surgery this past Jan. (Lots of pain). It works wonders for my severe pain. Does have side effect for weight gain, but that's ok for me since I have a small frame. It relieves my pain. I am not able to work, but I do get great pain relief. I take 600mg a day. ## i need more info on this pill. i already weigh 232 ## hi im mark I have diabetes and shingles worst luck I also have back probs and old slit disc now the doctor put me on tramadol for over 4 years just found out that liver levels are low.. one doc said oh that's down to the drink?? from ten years ago?? I have been suffering from sever spondylosis with numbness in the fingers. The treatment advised was traction and pain killers, which did not really solve my problem. Now for the past few years i found numbness in my left hand fingers throughout the day which makes it very difficult for me to do my work. I was asked to do a nerve test which diagnosed as carpal tunnel syndrome and was advised surgery and a vitamin tablet for the nerve. I did have the surgery; however i opted for acupuncture treatment, which did give me relief for a period of time but now it is persist even more. I find this numbness when i exert myself with work. ## Have the same experience. had carpal tunnel surgery years ago. Also having sciatic pain etc

Over the past 6 months I have developed acute pain and numbness/tingling, as well as loss of strength, in both hands. I've been to 3 doctors and a specialist and they can't work out what's happening. Have tried strong painkillers like Tramadol but no relief. I'm now taking medicinal cannabis 100 (.5 mil per day), and although it has helped slightly, the pain is still chronic. Has anyone else out there had similar problems and, if so, what treatment have you had? ## Have your doctors done any imaging studies to check your spine, and joints? In many cases nerve pain like this is due to some issue with nerve damage, a slipped disc putting pressure on certain nerves, or etc. Have you ever been checked for Carpal Tunnel Syndrome?
