My husband was dx with Parkinson's disease and was Rx Carb/Levo to reduce his tremor. After 3 days no change was noted, and the shaking slightly increased. Maybe the Dx is wrong. ## My mother is taking carb/levo 25-100mg four times a day. This past several weeks she has been seeing things that are not there, not sleeping at night, and not wanting to eat. is this normal for her to be doing on this drug. she is 83 years old and she has just gotten worst in the past several weeks. she has been to the doctor and he says she is in the last stage of this disease Parkinsons. she has just came down hill so fast and i need to know if this all is normal. Are there any generic versions of this tablet either er or direct version which contain different coloring ingredients than the original sinmet product? ## @Dr. Perry, From what I could gather, Sinemet (Carbidopa + Levodopa) by Merck Pharma reportedly contains the following inactive ingredients: hydroxypropyl cellulose + pregelatinized starch + crospovidone + microcrystalline cellulose + magnesium stearate. NOTE: FD&C Blue #2 are also present in the 10mg/100mg and 25mg/250mg dosage forms; whereas D&C Yellow #10 Lake is used in the 25mg/100mg dosage form. From what you've listed, the second one with the SA would be a time released formulation. The sa stands for sustained action, it's used similarly to ER, SR, XR and others. what are the side effects of carb/levo ## My father was prescribd carb-levo in a reltively small dose. He takes it in the morning and seems to get veru sleepy from it. I've been prescribed to take Carb/Levo for restless leg syndrome. Does anyone have experience using it for this purpose and what were results? ## I don't know how old your question is, but my mother has taken it for at least 10 years with no side effects. It provides her great relief. Once in awhile it won't be effective enough, but she gets by on those nights. ## I've been taking carb/levo for restless leg syndrome for a couple years. I started taking one tablet, 10 mg.- 100 mg and about a year later took 1 1/2 tablets. Now I'm down to 1/2 tablet as the higher dosage created restlessness an hour after I took it ... and lasted an hour before i could relax enuf to go to sleep. Then I moved on to Ropinerole (Requip) which was wonderful for a long while and now I have to take five a night for a few hours of unbroken rest. What is next, please?
