black and red capsule pill with yellow band, with no other markings. What is it? ## Hi Pheonix, Based on your description, this could be anything from an OTC dietary supplement to something illicit. Unfortunately because there are no markings, the best thing I can suggest is to either have the capsules analyzed by a lab and/or utilize a drug panel kit to see if it contains any illicit drugs. Were you given this by someone at a party or did you find it in a medicine cabinet, etc? Maybe its origin can help rule out a few unlikely suspects or at least narrow down our search efforts in some way. Does anyone else here recognize this?

What is the pink and white capsule with a red band in the middle and the number 1462 ## The marking is actually L 462 and this capsule contains 25mgs of Diphenyhydramine, it is a generic or store brand of Benadryl, which is used to treat allergies. I found two capsules, light blue, gray band in the middle, red on the other side, marked with L and S....would like to know what it is. ## I am not completely certain, since I can't find a listing, but it sounds like a generic or store brand of Tylenol Rapid Release, containing Acetaminophen. The gray band in the middle is what allows the medication to release faster than it would in normal caplets. Are these caplets or just regular capsules and did you find them in the U.S.? Need to know if this is acetaminophen or what, exactly; it was found by a co-worker in the parent's house.... ## There doesn't seem to be a definitive ID on this pill, but I noticed others who were trying to identify this same red capsule and had found it to be Tylenol; I believe the dosage is 500mg, but I don't have enough information to confirm this. Acetaminophen is the active ingredient found in Tylenol, so my finding appears to match what you have mentioned in your description. I hope this helps!

I recognize the description of this pill, I buy them for my husband all the time. This is the new Tylenol rapid release caplets, like nenene said, 500mgs of Acetaminophen. The middle band actually has tiny little holes in it, so your stomach acids work on it and release the med quicker. When my husband has classes and gets a headache, it is the only thing that works fast enough, so there is always a bottle in his bookbag and in the car.
