Can You Take Naproxen With Tylenol

I took 2 Naproxen 200mg earlier today. Can i take 2 Tylenol tabs for a slight headache? ## Since both medications can be used to treat the same conditions, it is best not to combine them, unless your doctor instructs you to do so. Can I take Tylenol rapid relief with naproxen? Just had meniscus surgery and they gave me naproxen to take. Not cutting it for the pain in my thigh!!! I have had a couple of neck surgeries may need another and am waiting on 2nd hand surgery. I took 15 naproxen and 4 Tylenol last night and I feel fine. I'm just scared I caused permanent damage to my body, what should I do? ## You should report this to your doctor, as soon as possible. Naproxen is an nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID). It is used to reduce inflammation and lower fever. Penicillin and amoxicillin are antibotics and are used to treat infections. Being allergic to Penicillin and amoxicillin has nothing to do with Codiene # 3 and narpoxen. ## Codeine #3 IS NOT 30mg of codeine. That is actually called Tylenol #3 with codeine. I am taking 500 mg. of naproxen, with 500 mg. of metamizol sodico and tylenol. I am worried about any drug interactions. this would be short term use for a bad back spasm. ## Oddly enough, I'm not finding any specific drug interaction details relating to Metamizole or its brand names. I'm assuming this may be a foreign medication, as that would explain why it's not listed in U.S. drug interaction checkers. However with regards to Naproxen and Tylenol, there are no drug interactions listed between the two. So I get the sense that you should be fine taking those together. Is your current doctor the one who prescribed Metamizole with the other two medications? If not, you may want to double check with him/her just to be on the safe side. I hope this helps!

i took 5 ip190/500 pills (naproxen) by mistake will i be ok. Thought they were tylonol. Took 3 then two hours later took two. ## Hello, Stew! How are you feeling? That is over the recommended daily dose and you shouldn't take that much Tylenol, either. It is actually the more dangerous of the two. Have you consulted your doctor? You should do so, as they may want to check for possible liver damage.

Plus, the more you take, especially all at once, the worse the possible side effects are going to be. Have you tried spacing them out more? Or perhaps asking your doctor for something to help prevent the nausea and vomiting?

I'm researching pain meds for my knee pain after a replacement. ## Naproxen is an nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory. Naproxen is the generic name for Aleve, The difference is that Aleve is OTC because it is only 220 mg and Naproxen is prescription because it is 500 mg. Vicodin is a combination of hydrocodone and tylenol. Hydrocodone is a narcotic and can be addicting. You must have a prescription to get Vicodin. ## @original post, No, Naproxen is not stronger than Vicodin. Although it could probably compare to the acetaminophen in Vicodin, the hydrocodone is still a far more potent pain reliever in and of itself. I had a spinal fusion on Nov 8, 2016... 6 week checkup w/ PA on Dec 20th... Trochanteric Bursitis... Shots given in each hip... She had renewed my prescription of Hydrocodone 7.5/325 before seeing me... I was in horrible pain, told her I couldn't believe she'd switched medication strength prior to seeing me, so she prescribed original Hydrocodone 10/325 and Naproxen 500mg 2x daily... Approx. day 4, "Ah! Relief everywhere I swear! So... I put away the Hydro 10's (40 remained) and stepped down to the 7.5's." I was taking 2 every 6 hours, at one particular dose about an hour and a half later, "Woohoo!" At this point, I took the pills down to 1 every 6 hours, comfortable, able to continue my PT...
