hi, i am taking suboxone i would like to know if i take codeine with it would i feel the opiate? Also is it possible to go through withdrawals from codeine if on suboxone? ## more info please! 1) what dose are you on, how long have you been taking suboxone? 2) How much codeine we talking about? Are you meaning a dose to make you feel high? Or do you have a headache?! 3) what is your usage history? If you have been on Suboxone over a few days then dont take codeine as it will have no effect. It wont hurt you but wont do anything either as the suboxone will boot it out your receptors. You say 'would I feel it' which suggests to me you are looking to get high off the codeine. Hi I have been on suboxone for four weeks, before that I was on methadone for five years. I decided to try kratom to stop the suboxone but it isn't really doing much and I feel really lethargic and headaches. The Doc put me on 5 a day 8mg pills. In all 40mg a day. It makes me really tired during the day, then at night I have Insomnia. I guess it's better then taking Opiates again. It's truely changed my life? If only I can sleep! ## My doctor started me on four a day, which happens to be way to much. I don't know the exstent of your using but I can tell you that I was bad as they come. If you want to sleep then stop taking so much, no one needs that much suboxone. Otherwise, it won't work and can make u feel worse. As far as time, they usually take about 15 minutes 2 work. If the g don't work, u may need more. It all depends on how much and how long u were using. But, if you want 2 get clean, u r going 2 need more than a day or few 2 do it. U should go 2 a clinic or suboxone dr and do it properly. If u r not already doing that. Remember, the main thing is 2 b withdrawing b 4 u take the suboxone.

I have now been on suboxone for a year, I got on it when I found out I was pregnant last January 2013 and I had my beautiful healthy daughter in August 2013 I used to be on subutex during my pregnancy but once I had my daughter I was switched to suboxone. I am a pain killer addict. I was addicted to Lortabs for about 7-8 years. I began seeing a new doctor & was prescribed Suboxone 2/.5 mg & was on that until about 6 months ago when I was changed to Buprenorphine due to it being cheaper. My question is, I have become increasingly depressed & dealing with anxiety as well as becoming very withdrawn & moody. Could that be a side effect of this medication? It also depends on how much suboxone you take., however most people take suboxone for opiate addiction. Normally you would have to wait at least 24 hours after taking 1 suboxone to take any type of narcotics. Otherwise the suboxone will block the narcotics and you will not get any relief from the pain pill. But in no way shape or form should you mix the two. You could get very I'll or die. Tuesday I have an appointment scheduled with a suboxone doctor. I have became addicted to opiates in 2005 after I had surgery. I was able to sober up on my own for around a year in 2008 but I relapsed and in the past 2 years I dont think I've had even one sober day. I work, run my household, take care of my children but I just can't seem to function without something in my system. I am ready to be the person I was before I started abusing pain meds (and anything else I couls get my hands on). From what I've read, using either of these medications together can increase your risk of developing serious respiratory depression, buprenorphine overdose, coma, and even death. Is this combination something your doctor prescribed to you? If so, he's really putting you at risk for some potentially life-threatning side effects. You may even want to consider switching doctors to someone who knows more about drug interactions; if not but for your own safety. Suboxone/Subutex should be used one way and one way only. Start with the professionally recommended dose; (usually according to one's opiate intake) and ween off of it in 5-14 days. Any longer than that and it becomes a crutch, simply trading one demon for another. I know people that have been on it for 3yrs, and when it came time to stop...HELL. I took it for a year. Mistake. I suffered worse withdrawals from that then any other before. I relapsed. Relapsed with a plan of pure Will. I used vicodin for two weeks, weened myself off and suffered much, much less. So I have been on Suboxone for years and years. I have had every different generic made and found they all effect me mor or less the same. However, I am having a hard time with these new West-Ward 54 375 generics. This one just doesn’t work the same. I know all generics have the same amount of drug in them but these just real weak and it really pisses me off. ## Actually, they do not all have to have the same amount of the active ingredients.
