Have kidney stone and was prescribed Hydro/Apap 5-325. Says to take 1 tablet every six hours. Took half a tablet four hours ago because a whole tablet was making me sick and dizzy. Half a tablet is doing nothing at this point, so can I take tylenol after four hours or do I have to wait until six hours? ## Can I you take zolnoks 10mg half tab every 6 hours throughout the day and night? My mother who is 71 years old had a knee replacement and zolnoks seem to help taken with pain medicine, senaleve. ## Hello, Calchandl! How are you? Sorry about the kidney stone, I had one last year and they are very painful. Nausea and dizziness can be normal side effect of narcotic analgesics, such as this. Have you tried taking them with food? That might help prevent the nausea, while enabling you to tak... ...

Just had surgery for a hernia. I was prescribed Norco 5/325, take 2 every four hours. Can I take 1 every 2 hours so I don't get that "Narcotic" feeling? ## Hello, Scott! How are you? Yes, you should be able to do that, but you should double check with your doctor to be sure. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Is there anything else I can help with? ...

My elderly mother has shingles and was give hydrocodone 5mg with 325 mg acetaminophen. Can i give her half a tablet every three hours instead of a full tablet every six hours to cut down on the possibility of dizziness and falling? ## You need to wait 4 hrs because of the tylenol. ## And it really should be dosed as prescribed by her doctor. Has she experienced dizziness from it? If so, you could try giving her half a tablet every 4 to 6 hours, if her doctor approves. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. ...

my husband was givin reprexain 10-200 mg one every 6 hours but he is still hurting bad can he take 2 at a time ## Has he consulted his doctor about it? This contains Hydrocodone and Ibuprofen and the maximum dose of Hydrocodone that's usually given at oce is just the 10mgs, it is very potent narcotic, so I wouldn't suggest increasing the dosage, without a doctor's approval. ...

Had a tooth extracted took two 500mg of Tylenol can I take a 5 325 Vicodin three hours later ## Yep drink water ## Hi Mark! You just need to be careful of the amount of Tylenol ( acetaminophen) you take. It gives you instructions on the Tylenol bottle as to how much you can take. Remember that the Vicodin has 325 mgs in it too, from what you said. ## If you take more than 650 mg of tylenol, you have to wait at least 6 hrs before taking any more tylenol, that includes the Vicodin. Do not take more than 1,000 tylenol every 6 hrs or more than 4,000 tylenol is a 24 hr period. ...

How Often can One Take Hydrocodone 10/325mg Tabs?

I have severe chronic back pain. A neurosurgeon prescribed Hydrocodone 10/325mgs tablets to be taken every 8 hours. I am finding that my pain diminishes 1 to 1/2 hour after taking one tablet. Can I take 1 tablet more often, i.e., every four hours? ## Have you consulted your doctor, or the neurosurgeon? Hydrocodone with Acetaminophen, the active ingredients in Vicodin, is a narcotic opiate pain medication, so while there are times it is appropriate to take it more often, sometimes as often as every 6 hours, you should not do so, without checking with your physician. Learn more about Vicodin Details ## I agree with Verwon. Talk to your doctor. You should not increase your medication dosage without his express consent. My husband has a prescription for hydrocodone 5/500. How often can he take it for back pain? Like every 4 hours? Or 6 hours or what? He doesn't use it much and can't remember the frequency. Thank you for any help! ## This is a generic for Vicodin or Lortab, which contains Acetaminophen and Hydrocodone and the directions are usually to take it every 4 to 6 hours, as needed. Since it has the Acetaminophen in it, there is also usually the caveat in the directions to not exceed 8 of them in any 24 hour period and not to combine it with any other medications containing Acetaminophen. YELLOW SOLUTION LIQUID HYDROCODONE-APAP. IT IS A GENERIC FORM OF VICADON ## I was prescribed this stuff for pain relief after a tonsilectomy...bottle reads: 400 HYDROCODONE/ SOL APAP Take 2-4 teaspoonfuls every four hours as needed. My question is, is there a way to tell how many milligrams each of hydrocodone/acetominophen per teaspoon? I am concerned about the APAP as we all know it is toxic to the liver in high doses and would like to know how much is in each dose I take so I can monitor it. I am assuming the 400 on the bottle corresponds to that, but I don't know how it applies (ex. per teaspoon, or per reccomended dose of 2-4 an hour). Seems to me its a lot harder to find info on ratio of hydro. to APAP in liquid form, wheras it is almost common knowlege for the tablet-forms. I... ...

Just started using hydrocodone apap tab5mg-325. This first dose I took is 2 pills at 12 noon. The bottle instructions say you can take 1 to 2 tablets every 4 to 6 hours. It is now 3:15 pm and it feels like the hydro pills, made by Amneal are just about finished. The pills I have been taking prior to this are oxycodone, Mallinckrodt, acetaminophen 5-325 and I take 1 pill every 6 hours. This is OXY condone, NOT HYDRO codone made by Amneal. Are they different strengths? The HYDRO seems weaker. Whats the difference between the two? And should they be interchangeable? ## It does require 7.5mgs of the Hydrocodone to be equal to the 5mg Oxycodone you were taking, because the Oxycodone is stronger. However, it may simply be that the Hydrocodone just doesn't work for you. Learn more Vicodin ... ...

i have a headache that seems to not respond to any pain medicine, but when i take hydrocodone alone, i get a little relief, is taking one spoon of hydrocodone every 4hours too much? ## What is the dosage of the syrup and what has your doctor advised? It is usually taken every 4 to 6 hours, as needed, but it really depends on the dosage, your tolerance and whether or not it also contains Acetaminophen, since too much of it in any 24 hour period can be toxic. ...

I had a tooth extraction yesterday, been taking I norco 7.5-325 regularly since; took one pill an hour ago and the pain is still unbearable, can i take one more or even half a pill more? ## Hi Ryan, Generally with this type of drug the dosing instructions indicate that you should take 1 pill every 4-6 hours or so. I could be wrong, but I think this is mainly due to the concerns associated with Acetaminophen and liver toxicity. From my own personal experience, it should be fine to take a half a pill more, as they do make a stronger norco with 10mgs of Hydrocodone and 500mgs of Acetaminophen. So it would be as if you're taking the stronger version of the drug. I had been on oxy before and I don't do well with it. Already addicted and wanted to get off it I asked for Hydrocodone. He gave me 10/325 taking every 4 hrs. Is this amount of medicine dangerouss? ## Is taking a 10/200 Hydrocodone pill dangerous to my body ## The usual adult dosage for Vicodin (Hydrocodone + Acetaminophen) is one or two tablets every four to six hours as needed for pain. The total daily dosage should not exceed 8 tablets according to the dosing and administration guidelines for this medication. If you are taking more than you need, then the Acetaminophen can certainly cause damage to your liver over a period of time. That said, I would strongly suggest sticking to the dosing schedule that your doctor or pharmacist recommended for you. If they didn't advise a dosing regime for you, I would personally stick to the usual adult dosing schedule listed above. Dosages should also be adjusted by your doctor according to the seve... ...

I have had two surgeries and on hydro.10mg|325 tabs. I have winged myself down to 1 every 12 hours. Ive noticed that after about 9 hours it seems like im catching a cold. I push myself to go the 12 hours. Once i take the med. im fine. I have probably been on them fo 3 months.. Really i may need a smaller dose but ill try taking maybe about 5 ibuprofen's for a little while. Is there a easier way to taper down, how can i taper down or do i just have to crawl under the sheets and die. I hate these pills, don't want something else controlling me. ## Sounds like you have been on them a while, The reason you feel like you have a cold is that your waiting to long to take one, if you want to tapper down start with the dose you were on, then your next dose wait an additional hour and so on... ...

I had surgery in May for disc replacement in C5 and C6 and was taking 10-325mg of Norco for pain, on October 12th I had a disc replaced in L5-S1 and my surgeon put me on 10-325mg of Percocet and Valium 10mg. I have been depressed at home and went to my primary care doctor who prescribed 7.5-500mg of Lortab, I was taking the other meds 2 every 4 hours for pain and have been dropped to 1 Lortab every 4-6 hours, this is not controlling my pain, my doctor feels I have been taking the Percocet for too long, 2 months, he also took me off my Valium 10mg and changed it to Klonopin 1mg, half to 1 pill twice a day, I have been in a lot of pain for a few days now since changing dosages and feel anxious and depressed, is this acceptable or should I go talk to my surgeon again and have my meds chang... ...
