Really bad ear infection, prescribed 5ml every 4 hrs - pain is back 3 hrs, can I take at 3 hrs when pain is back/ ## Hello, Gommba! How are you? I'm sorry that you're in pain. However, you shouldn't change the dosage, without your doctor's approval. The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. On top of the risk of being addictive, you also have to be very careful about how much Acetaminophen you take each day, too much of it could result in overdose toxicity. The usual dosing is every 4 to 6 hours, as needed for pain, but you should follow the instructions that were provided with your prescription. It can be taken with or without food, but taking it on an empty stomach may cause you to experience more nausea and dizziness than usual. So I have a lot pain and idk how many pill I'm supposed to take of the pill that says L484 does anyone? ## Hello, Sadie! How are you? This tablet does not contain Hydrocodone, or any other type of narcotic. It is listed in the NIH database as only containing 500mgs of Acetaminophen, it is a generic or store brand of Tylenol. The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, and headache. My elderly mother has shingles and was give hydrocodone 5mg with 325 mg acetaminophen. Can i give her half a tablet every three hours instead of a full tablet every six hours to cut down on the possibility of dizziness and falling? ## You need to wait 4 hrs because of the tylenol. ## And it really should be dosed as prescribed by her doctor. Has she experienced dizziness from it? If so, you could try giving her half a tablet every 4 to 6 hours, if her doctor approves. oxycontin 10mg 2x a day vs. hydrocodone 5/325 every 6 hours

I suffer from cervical stenosis and severe back pain that may require surgery. I am also suffering from a mental illness/deep depression/anxiety. I take several meds for the latter. I had been prescribed hydrocodone 5/325 every six hours, and that worked great for my pain, and I didn't sleepy. Now since changing Pain Mgmt Specialist, he prescribes OxyContin 10mg 2x a day, and this makes me so sleepy, especially with all of my other medications. This new doctor said hydrocodone was not good to take with my mental illness, but he gives me OxyContin? I don't get it, clearly the OxyContin is worse for me if I'm sleepy all the time, at least I could function and stay awake on hydrocodone. How often can you take Hydrocodone 5-325 ## Hello, Sky! How are you? It should be taken as prescribed by your doctor. Generally, no more than every 6 hours, so 4 a day, but many doctors prefer to prescribe it to be taken every 8 hours, for 3 times a day. The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Is there anything else I can help with? ## Take it as your MD says, but you can have it every 4 hours. The MD can increase the amount of hydrocodone in it. It's the acetaminophen they worry about. There is also a 10-300 out which is less acetaminophen and more pain relief if you REALLY need it. Most MDs will not Rx this now. You have to ... ...

YELLOW SOLUTION LIQUID HYDROCODONE-APAP. IT IS A GENERIC FORM OF VICADON ## I was prescribed this stuff for pain relief after a tonsilectomy...bottle reads: 400 HYDROCODONE/ SOL APAP Take 2-4 teaspoonfuls every four hours as needed. My question is, is there a way to tell how many milligrams each of hydrocodone/acetominophen per teaspoon? I am concerned about the APAP as we all know it is toxic to the liver in high doses and would like to know how much is in each dose I take so I can monitor it. I am assuming the 400 on the bottle corresponds to that, but I don't know how it applies (ex. per teaspoon, or per reccomended dose of 2-4 an hour). IS IT SAFE TO TAKE TYLENOL P M 2 HOURS AFTER TAKING HYDROCO/APAP 7.5-325 ## Hello, Sam! How are you? Additionally, they both cause sedation, which may also be dangerous, if it's too much for you. Just started using hydrocodone apap tab5mg-325. This first dose I took is 2 pills at 12 noon. The bottle instructions say you can take 1 to 2 tablets every 4 to 6 hours. It is now 3:15 pm and it feels like the hydro pills, made by Amneal are just about finished. The pills I have been taking prior to this are oxycodone, Mallinckrodt, acetaminophen 5-325 and I take 1 pill every 6 hours. This is OXY condone, NOT HYDRO codone made by Amneal. Are they different strengths? The HYDRO seems weaker. Whats the difference between the two? And should they be interchangeable? ## It does require 7.5mgs of the Hydrocodone to be equal to the 5mg Oxycodone you were taking, because the Oxycodone is stronger. However, it may simply be that the Hydrocodone just doesn't work for you. Learn more Vicodin ... ...
