Taking morphine and dilaudid for crushed foot, will those two drugs override TCH?? ## Hello, Peggy! How are you? Did you mean THC? There is nothing in Morphine or Dilaudid that will neutralize any other medications. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Is there anything else I can help with? ## Can you take Tylenol 3 and Morphine 30 together

My mother is 74 yrs old. Had rotator cuff surgery 4 days ago. Had to take her to the ER on day two. There they gave her an IM Dilaudid shot and sent her home. Called the doctor on call the next day and ask if they could admit her for pain management, he proceeded to tell me that the insurance would not pay for it. Post-op surgery they gave her Percocet 7.5/325 1-2 every 4-6 hours for pain. To make a long story short. Two was too strong so she had the 5-325 and took two every four hours and that would help her pain level which would be tolerable at 5. This is 3900mg of tylenol. Too much in only 24 hours. So this is why I am asking if you can take the Percocet 7.5/325 every 3 hours? ## Hello, Debbie! How is your mom doing? Since this is a narcotic, the FDA warns that it carries the risk o...

Is it possible to get the codeine without the Tylenol and or is dilaudid a better than Tylenol w/codeine? ## Yes, Codeine is available by itself, with the Acetaminophen/Tylenol. Dilaudid, however, is a much stronger analgesic. The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Is there anything else I can help with? ## Yes, you CAN get straight Codeine(anytime you can get a med w/o Tylenol, please do so as it's less damaging to kidneys)& this way YOU can control the amt of acetaminophen you injest. As for which med us better? That all depends on your need for pain relief AND what your Dr. recommends. I'm in stage IV kidney diseas...

I've been taking dilaudid 4mg once sometimes twice a day. At the end of the month when I run out, if I take a couple of Tylenol and codeine will it help till I get my pills? ## Hello, Sue! How are you? It may help, a little, but it is not equivalent to Dilaudid, so it will not be an adequate long-term replacement. The FDA warns that this medication carries the risk of being habit forming and it may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth, and constipation. For example, it takes 1.12mgs of Codeine to equal each 4.5mgs of Dilaudid. Is there anything else I can help with? ## As per my original post, I've been taking 4mg of Dilaudid for a year (two a day). Will oxycodone 5mg help with withdrawal?

I am allergic to Vicodin and Percocet so for my last 2 surgical procedures have been prescribed 4mg oral Dilaudid. I understand that it is a very powerful pain reliever but I get minimal relief from it so is it possible that my pain receptors are not responsive to this type of medication? The only other pain med that I take is Lodine (NSAID) for arthritis. It seems that I get more pain relieve from 2 Tylenol but am still in alot of pain with that. Both times after surgery I have stopped taking the Dilaudid after 3 days because I'm still in pain and on top of that constipated. Has anyone had this same minimal response and any suggestions on other pain meds I could use if needed? ## Odd. I too had little relief from Dilaudid. I was in a motorcycle accident, and they gave me that after...

Other options include Morphine, Opana and Dilaudid. Learn more Morphine details here. Learn more Opana details here. Learn more Dilaudid details here. round white thick outlined M on one side and the number 2 on the other side ## Could you please tell me if 4mg Dilaudid is anywhere near close to being the same medication as Tylenol #3?? I'm severely allergic to Codeine & want to make sure I'm not in danger of having an anaphylactic reaction if I take the Dilaudid. Please help!! ## This tablet is manufactured by Mallinckrodt Pharmaceuticals and they list it as containing 2mgs of Hydromorphone, which is a generic for Dilaudid. The FDA warns that it carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, constipation, and dry mouth. It is much stronger than Codeine. While it is a different medication, that does not mean that someone might not also discover they are allergic to ...

Hello..I have Crps type 2 and take Norco 10/325....Is there any other pain med that DOES NOT CONTAIN TYLENOL that would work for me,, esp since I like my Liver and want to keep it as long as possible without killing it from Tylenol....Thank You ## Hello, Stevarino! How are you? Yes, there are quite a few other options that don't contain Acetaminophen/Tylenol that you can ask your doctor about, including Oxycodone, Morphine, Dilaudid and a new version of time released Hydrocodone without the Acetaminophen called Zohydro. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. I have sever neck pain and back pain. I have had several surjurys to both. Im on a dilaudid pump plus 8 mg 3X day. Are there other ways to make the pills more effect when the pain becomes unbearable? ## I am very sorry that you're in pain. You may need a dosage adjustment, or an additional medication added. You may also want to ask about taking Tylenol with it, because it can enhance the effect of some narcotics. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Does anyone else have any suggestions?

How many different green liquid medications are there? My mom is prescribed liquid medicine and I need to know the name of it. It's green and highly addictive. ## My dad is on hospice. His morphine is blue. His morphine pills are blue. I hate giving it to him, but I hate him suffering more. I usually make sure he's on his oxygen really well before administering the meds. He usually screams out or he asks for it. I know he's hurting because in his lifetime he's only taken Tylox for maybe four days after surgery. The only other pain killer has been a Tylenol for headache. He hated medicine. I've had pain so severe until I've been on dilaudid and Actiq the pain lollipops. My doctor had to wean me off. That was a result of six back to back surgeries. I think I will a...

I was recently told of a new medication from my physician that would help with my chronic back pain.this medicine is supposed to be eqivalent to four hydrocodones.please inform me of the name of this medication so i can research it.thank u ## It sounds like Zohydro. It came out last year. It is hydrocodone extended release with no tylenol. You take one tablet every 12 hrs. ## @Edge, According to the Oxford Journal of Analytical Toxicology, Hydromorphone (Dilaudid) is reported to be approximately 4 to 6 times more potent than Hydrocodone. So this sounds like it may be one suspect as well. However, I suppose if you were to take a high enough dose of Zohydro ER relative to whatever dose of Hydrocodone/APAP you're comparing it to, then you could easily end up taking 4x (or more) than th...

I was prescribed Dilaudid 2mg every 6 hours as needed for pain after being in the hospital for 5 days getting it through an IV every 2 hours as needed.... The pills I was prescribed were 4mg and I cut them in half.... Am I at serious risk if I take a whole pill for severe pain??? I am embarassed to ask my doctor in fear that he will think I am an addict trying to get a cheap high. This is not the case however. I actually am not a fan of taking pills at all, not even tylenol. The pain is almost unbearable. What do I do??? ## 4mgs is not a dangerous dose, though it is really strong and if you aren't used to taking medications, it will probably hit you very hard and you'll experience more of the side effects. Since it is a potent narcotic, they can include: nausea, drowsiness, dizz...

I am searching for a comparible drug to the Oxycodone? Due to national shortage I cannot get the Oxycodone. But I need something to replace it without Tylenol. ## I'm not sure how comparable these two drugs are to Oxycodone, as I have never taken them. But to help answer your question, Dilaudid (hydromorphone) as well as Demerol (meperidine) are also narcotic pain relievers used to treat moderate to severe pain. You can learn more about this drug on the page for Dilaudid Details and Demerol (meperidine) Details Maybe you could ask your doctor about either of these options as potential candidates for replacing Oxycodone. Hope this helps! ## There are other options, but it may be difficult to locate any of them in stock in a pharmacy. However, a couple you can discuss with your doctor...

yellow oval pill v/36 01 ## This contains Acetaminophen 325mgs and Hydrocodone 10mgs, it is a generic for Norco. This is a narcotic pain reliever, very strong and addictive. ## I wouldn't say they are "very strong", they are strong if you're not used to narcotic pain relievers, much stronger than a darvocet, tylenol 3, or even a plain vicodin 5/500, but weak compared to pain relievers such as percocet, roxycodone, morphine, dilaudid, demerol, oxycontin, fentanyl, and the many other stronger painkillers on the market. I HIGHLY agree that they're very addictive though. I struggled with addiction to vicodin and norco, so I know how addictive they are. ## in trouble need 5 10mg vicodin to feel ok a day

I take one 2mg Dilaudid at night at 7pm regularly with one 50mg Amitriptyline and two 500mg of Tylenol. When I saw the Dr the next morning he wanted a urine test. He said that he could not detect the presence of Dilaudid in my urine. Why is this so? ## I Googled my dilemma and the result was the reason, that the hydomorphone 2mg was (short acting) which would be out of the system in 6 hrs ## Concerning my previous post, I had printed out my research and showed it to the Dr. He was satisfied with that.

I was given a drug test and I came up positive for cocaine. I don't know how it could be when I don't even use drugs. I was drinking tonic water before the test. could that do it? ## I tested positive for cocaine and I never use any illicit drugs. I'm on Dilaudid, Norco, Zoloft, Prilosec and I take an occasional Tylenol 3. I don't know how it could have gotten into my urine. I would be stupid for me to take a UA the night before and use cocaine knowing that I am a chronic pain patient and I knew that the test was coming. Someone please help me with an answer. I also drink tonic water and lemon or lime with a little sugar just about every day or when I'm socializing with my friends.
