I couldn't remember if I took my blue chantix. So I took another one.it was lime 2 hrs apart. I feel light headed when I stand up an little sick to my stomach. Just wanting to know what will happen. ## Hello, Betty! How are you? It could be dangerous, if it caused Serotonin syndrome, but that's not highly likely if it just happened ones. Did you experience any adverse effects? It is most likely to cause more severe side effects, which as listed by the FDA, may include nausea, dizziness, drowsiness and dry mouth. It would also be a good idea to inform your doctor, that way they can watch for any potential issues.

I accidentally took a chantix about an hour after I had already taken one. Should I do anything? ## Hello, Marbak! How are you? It could be dangerous, if it caused Serotonin syndrome, but that's not highly likely if it just happened once. Did you experience any adverse effects? It is most likely to cause more severe side effects, which as listed by the FDA, may include nausea, dizziness, drowsiness and dry mouth. It would also be a good idea to inform your doctor, that way they can watch for any potential issues. In the future, you should also never be afraid to inquire at an urgent care, or via poison control, to be safe. ## I accidentally just took 2 doses of my Chantix. Now I feel really sick. Any suggestions on what I should do or what the side effects are?

Will it hurt me if I take chantix every 8 hours? I work 12 hour shifts at night. ## You should take it in compliance with your doctor's dosing instructions. The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, mood swings, and weight changes. If you're taking it twice daily, that still fits around your 12 hour work shift, you could take a dose right before you go to work and the other one, when you clock out. Is there anything else I can help with?

I used chantix to quit smokong for several months, then slipped up and started again. I would like to use the remaining pills to help me stop again. These are the Blue full strength pills and I was wondering if i can cut them in half to use a the starting dosage? Or can I just start back with the blue pills? ## I suggest asking your doctor or pharmacist, some pills can be safely cut in half and some cannot. ## I was wondering the same thing so I called the pharmacy to find out. They said that you CAN cut the 1mg tablets in half to begin to use Chantix again.

i am taking buspar for anxiety and chantix to quit smoking. ## According to both my physician, psychiatrist, AND pharmacist, yes. I'm currently taking Chantix (Champix here in Canada) with 15mg of buspar 3x daily. However, fair warning. You may find yourself getting brain zaps (Google if you don't know what those are) around the time you take your buspar. It's annoying, but it goes away. However this can be dangerous if you have to drive around the same time, so try and work it so you don't have to. Source: Personal experience ## I haven't been able to find any problems or interactions listed, either, but they should not be taken without a physician's approval and monitoring. As Shane has mentioned, you also have to be careful about worsening of some of the side ...

Chantix Varenicline

Varenicline (trade name Chantix and Champix) is a medication used for smoking cessation.[4][6] Varenicline is also used for the treatment of dry eye disease.[5][7] The most common side-effects include nausea (feeling sick), insomnia (difficulty sleeping), abnormal dreams, headache and nasopharyngitis (inflammation of the nose and throat).[6] It is a high-affinity partial agonist for the α4β2 nicotinic ac...

I successfully did a month of Chantix thanks to the overwhelming support of my concerned girlfriend, friends and family. My lovely sweetheart told me she was less concerned about "kissing an ashtray" than just being able to having me around for a long time. This is my second time on Chantix. The first time I quit smoking for 7 months and I resumed after smoking just 1 cigarette, thinking I had it "under control". One month's worth this time: the insomnia was bad, the dreams were vivid, and my stomach hurt. Heightened road rage seems to be my constant companion now, but then I live in an area of concentrated rush hours over bridges and thru tunnels! Nothing can help that! Good luck to all. ## Hi Scott, Thanks a lot for sharing your experience on this medication! It se...

I'm taking chantix for 3 weeks now can I take xenadrine Ultra ## Have you checked with your doctor? The Xenadrine products are over the counter dietary supplements that are claimed to aid in weight loss, however, as such, they aren't tested for possible interactions with actual prescription drugs. Thus, I can really only advise that you check with your doctor or pharmacist, before taking it.

I've been on Chantix for five days and down to 4 cigs a day. Will I ever quit smoking? I don't think about smoking as much as before. I have smoked for 35 years so I really hope this helps. Thank you Chantix. ## Hello, Nellie! How are you? It has successfully helped many people quit smoking. When is your quit date? The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including abnormal dreams, nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth, weight changes and trouble sleeping. And yes, it doesn't have to be taken with a full meal. Is there anything else I can help with?

I currently take loritab, soma, anti-inflamatory for a chronic back pain... i asked my doctor if it was okay to take this medicine with all the others that im on and he said it was fine.. i feel really weird.. cant stop crying.. somebody help me.. ## I am very sorry to hear about your experience and I have been going through the same thing. I stopped talking chantix on day 9 because I couldnt sleep for days. I want to get back to it. Can I continue taking chantix after stoping taking it for 3 or 4 days? Or I have to start from beginning by taking 0.5 mg?? ## Hi Ehab, From what I've read, the amount of time it take for half a dose of chantix to leave your system is 24 hours. It has been said that a drug is usually out of your system within 5 to 6 half lives. Therefore, within 5-6 days most of the Chantix would most likely be out of your system. Since you've only been off of it for 3-4 days then there is probably enough left in your system to keep your from having to start all over with the (0.5 mg) dose. I think taking the next dose up from that would be sufficient, however I am not a doctor so that is just my opini...

Probably the worst "quitter" out there. Quit for 2 years successfully on Chantix, don't remember any bad mental effects just nasty stomach issues. Tried it again this spring and was good for a couple months, but backslid. Just started upping the dosage and am having major mood swings, anxiety, not really sucidal thoughts, but thinking "it just be easier to be dead" fairly regularly, crying for no reason, feeling uncomfortable around everyone, pretty constant headaches, exhausted, just in general not myself at all. Considering just stopping the Chantix all together, I hate feeling like this. Any experience taking it more than once changing the side effects? ## I've taken Chantix 3 times myself and never really had too many troubling side effects, aside from some g...

Ok so I'm on day 7 of Chantix and for the first 4 days taking it I was throwing up so I decided to eat before taking it. Well the throwing up went away but not the nauseated feeling.. Also I've tried drinking oj, apple juice, water, etc and nothing seems to help... What works for you guys? ## Hello, Mandi! How are you feeling? The nausea should eventually go away, as your body gets used to the medication, but that may take about 4 weeks, or so. Have you tried taking it with milk? Crackers or break may also help more. The FDA lists the other typical side effects of this medication as possibly including stomach pain, indigestion, constipation, weakness and dry mouth. Does anyone else have any ideas that may help? ## Sorry, I saw that right after I clicked submit, I meant bread! LO...

Started my fourth day today. Took pill 1 of 2 this morning, will dose a second time this evening with my meal. The medicine makes me feel quiet, and somewhat moody but nothing I can't work through. My natural tendency today is to isolate. I don't really feel like being sociable, though I wi be anyway just to try and fight against it (if indeed those symptoms are due to the Chantix). I already notice a considerable difference in taste and smell. The best way to describe it is I now "notice" myself smoking the cigarette. It becomes less desirable, though I do still have cravings as I'm a pack-a-day smoker. I have had a mood swing or two at work, but that could just be that I work in a crazy environment. I don't want to fall victim to self fulfilling prophecy, meani...

About 6 months ago I finally decided to try the prescription of chantix that I recieved before all of the warnings after I started taking it I quickly started having depression and violent out breaks also suicidal tendencys. I stopped taking the medication but the side effects are still with me, at this time I don't have insurance and can't afford to get help. Only recently I noticed that the prescription was expired along time ago, until I startex having problems I had no idea what was going on with all the cases by other people for the same problems I'm having now I see that they have settled with every one does that mean I can't make them resposible for my medical bills that are going to come from trying to repair the damage their pills have caused me? I’m done with my box of Chantix as of today & am still smoking. The desire is going away but I feel I need a second dose. Is it ok to get a second dose? ## Only your doctor can decide if it is safe for you to take for a longer period of time. Chantix may cause side effects, such as nausea, sleep walking, insomnia, depression, and aggression, in some people that take it. It also must be used with behavior modification, which includes you stopping on your quit date. The medication doesn't do it all by itself, you have to help it. Are you on any other medications? How much are you smoking? ## I’m smoking about a pack & a half. I can feel the effects of Chantix but am still smoking

I talked to my doctor about wanting to quit smoking and he prescribed Chantix, I will start in about 3 days. Can someone please be honest and tell me what I am about to start going through? I am a stay at home mom of a 3 year old, my husband is only home 1-2 days a week and I have heard this will be a mistake for me to take and that I will have horrible dreams, suicidal thoughts, ad much worst. Can someone tell me if me taking Chantix is a bad idea? I have not heard of many people who have not had bad results and hope this will have different answers. Thank you! ## I have been on chantix for a coupl of months now. I have been a smoker for twenty plus yrs. I had a few weird dreams. No nightmares. I think everyone is different. I've been taking chantix for 6 weeks now. My quit date was on the 17th but I ran out of cigarettes on the 12th so I said to my self... today is a good day to quit... That was a month ago. Only side effects I got was the dreams, although I was not as happy as I usually am but my husband says that just means your like a normal person now...haha very funny. I am so happy that I am a non smoker when I read people quit after 2 weeks that scared me cause I didnt think it would work. But it did!! Little bit of nausea but its worth it not to smell anymore and to breath again. It says to take for 3 months and that is what im going to do... Thank so much Chantix ## Hello, Loni! How are you? The tingling and numbness are bearable, but does not seem normal to me.The side effets seem to b getting worse over time..But the ood thing isi have basically Quit smoking.Any suggestions? ## Hello, Nicki! How are you doing? Has there been any change? You should really have this checked out by your doctor, as those could be signs of a cardiac issue, which the FDA warns that this medication has been known to cause in some people that take it. There is a good chance that it's nothing, but better safe, than sorry. Typical side effects are listed as possibly including nausea, dizziness, he...

Can you take Chantix if you are pregnant? ## It says you should not take it if you are pregnant, because theyare not sure what effect it may have on the baby ## I would suggest consulting with your doctor, they will weigh the pros and cons of your using it while pregnant and let you know what they think you should do. ## I became pregnant in October right after being prescribed Chanix. I never did take it because my doctor said GUARENTEED it will cause birth defects. Of course this is 2010 and the original post was 2008 so I hope you and your baby are well/
