 Subutex Buprenorphine
Buprenorphine is a semisynthetic opioid derivative of thebaine. It is a mixed partial agonist opioid receptor modulator that is used to treat opioid addiction in higher dosages, to control moderate acute pain in non-opioid-tolerant individuals in lower dosages and to control moderate chronic pain in even smaller doses.[3] It is available in a variety of formulations: Cizdol, Subutex, Suboxone, Zubsolv, Bunavail (available as buprenorphine HCl alone or buprenorphine and naloxone HCl (see bupre...

I was wondering if anyone could help me here. I was on a high dose of methadone - 135ml & in total have been on that & now Suboxone & Subutext for a total of 10 years. I've spent the last few years reducing & am now on 2mg of Suboxone & 1.2mg of Subutext. I've actually had to stop reductions as I've been really sick for the last 7 months. I feel nauseous & weak all the time, occasionally throw up & burp up sick all the time. Sometimes I wonder if it could be that I am so low now on my medication, although I know by rights I should have stabilised & be fine. Would love to hear from anyone who has been on one of these medications for a long time & then stopped at a low dose for a while & had any problems for months. Thank you! ## You mig... ...

What's the difference between the small and large pill an which is stronger the 2mg or the 8mg? ## Hello, Sherrie! How are you? When it comes to medications, please don't let them confuse you. As applies in most other situations, the relevance of numbers in medications is the same, so the higher the number, the stronger the dosage. Learn more Subutex details here. This is a narcotic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. As to the specifics on the pills you mentioned, them sizes don't mean anything, so I can't tell you anything about them without more information. Can you please post back with the markings on them? Thanks! ## Size DOESN'T matter but the strength goes ... ...

take subutex and suboxone together
10 Replies RSS
I ran out of subutex last night can I take suboxone today ## Hi Ash, Based on my research, there are no drug interactions listed between Subutex and Suboxone. So with that being said, I wouldn't anticipate having any problems when switching between one or the other. Also, because Subutex contains the same active ingredient "Buprenorphine", taking the two meds together or within a short a time frame of one another would also be similar to just having an higher dose of Suboxone. Is your doctor also aware that you're taking both medications? ## Have only four 8 strips Suboxone to last until January 21st! I currently take 12 mgs day. Reason Im short? They were stolen and I can't turn the person in as he is family. I have no concrete proof. anyway, I've be on this for... ...

I woke up in WD and took a Subutex immideately. After about 45mins I still didn't feel too well, so I took another and feel much better now. Is this okay? I just read of people taking QUARTERS and it kinda freaked me out. Hah. Is it just that I may have a higher tolerance? ## What dosage have you been instructed to take, or are you trying to self-treat? If you're trying to self-treat, you should be aware that Subutex contains a very potent narcotic, you can learn more Buprenorphine details here and it can be very dangerous. Usually, the dosage is very precisely calculated to help prevent withdrawal symptoms. ## I'm self treating but I immediately went to just taking one a day. ## I forgot to mention that I was coming off of H. Pregnancy on subutex

I'm 32 and I have been an opiate addict for about 3 years. It started innocently as treatment for my RA and just blew out of control. I tried detox and all that before and ended in failure, so I found a good Dr and started suboxone treatment and have not touched a pain pill since. However 4 months ago I found out I was pregnant and rather than risk a miscarriage from withdraw my Dr changed my script to subutex. I'm truly terrified of my labor because I have a phobia of needles so an epidural is out of the question for me. My Dr said they can give me a higher dose of pain meds thru my labor for pain but I'm so scared they will overdose me or harm the baby. What are the risks of taking pain medication while on the subutex does anyone know. ## I am not going to deny that labor ... ...

U took 4 7.5s perks around midnight will I go into withdraws if i take a 54 411 around 10am ## Dear highboi1989, u must wait until u r in withdrawals b 4 u can take the sub. If not, u could get sick and feel like crap. U should not take both together, either. It could b dangerous. So, remember, wait until u r withdrawing b 4 u take the subs. GOOD LUCK! ## There is nothing in Subutex to counteract other opiates, so someone does not have to be in full withdrawal to take it. Subutex contains only the opiate Buprenorphine. It does not contain the Naloxone that Suboxone does which so why you must be in full withdrawals, before you can take it. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth... ...

suboxone, subutex and opiates
1 Reply RSS
This is simple. I've been on suboxone for five years. I'm clean. I took opiates for thirty years. Methadone was the kinky way out and frankly doesn't work for the same reason subutex rarely works. You can still take opiates on top of both. Suboxone has a blocker. It is easy knowing you can't feel high. I still go to therapy and meetings. Beats being deaf. Good luck. ## Hello, Anfy! How are you? Actually, Subutex can still block other opiates from working, so many people do have good luck with it. It contains the active ingredient Buprenorphine, which tends to cling to the opiate receptors in the brain much stronger than most other opiates, so it can also cause precipitated withdrawal, if someone has been taking any recently. The FDA classifies it as an opiate that is mos... ...

is methadone after subutex safe?

Hello my name is kev. I have been consuming about 3 to 6 mg of subutex daily for about 7 months. I'm very eager to eliminate the subutex and start on these methadone. Is it safe to consume methadone 20 mgs the day after taking about 3 mgs of subutex? I heard suboxone was the dangerous one, not subutex and I also heard the taking methadone after subutex is the safe apose to methadone to subutex. Any answers would be highly appreciated. Thank you. ## People are just stupid. The bup is what keeps you from feeling high on other full opiates. The naloxone is only in the suboxone to keep you from misusing the drug. If taken properly the naloxone will not affect you. noone seems to understand that subutex is just as useful for opiate w/d as suboxone and it is the active ingredient Buphreno... ...

Subutex and Percocet
2 Replies RSS
I only took two Subutex 8 milligrams how long till I can take Percocet 15 ## You will still need to wait at least 72 hours, before the Oxycodone will be effective, due to the Suboxone blocking it's affect, unless your doctor instructs you otherwise. The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Is there anything else I can help with? ## First of all, he said subutex, not suboxone. That being said, 16mg is quite a bit so I would wait at least 24 hours. You won't go into withdrawal as it doesn't contain the same naloxone that suboxone has. You might not feel it though as the subutex is still working. No need to take such high ... ...

I had a knee surgery yesterday. I have been using subutex to help me taper narcotics. I stopped the subutex 2 weeks before surgery. My doctor prescribed both percocet and oxycontin. Has anyone used Dilaudid by pill at home ## I have suffered with chronic neck and back pain for years due to disk and nerve problems. My Dr. switched me from oxycontin to diulaudid (4-8 mg) and it worked for the first 9 mos. or so, then I got no relief. Many people get sick on it or very itchy. I am now on a higher dosage of Percoset. ## Are you familiar with subutex? ## No, I'm not. ## It is a new drug that has some pain killing ability. It is a controlled substance. I have the relatively new generic for subutex. It's round and white with the numbers 54 411 on one side and blank on the other. does anyone, other than myself have trouble sleeping too long when taking buprenorphine ? ## Hello, Allan! How are you? Do you mean it makes you more tired/fatigued so you sleep more than usual? If so, that isn't uncommon. Buprenorphine is classified as an opiate, by the FDA, and that is a common side effect of such drugs, along with nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth and constipation. Help! How can Subutex patients be treated for pain?

I've been worried about this ever since I started and I haven't spoke to my doctor yet. I sincerely do not care about getting high anymore and this really bothers me. Can somebody please help? I take 24 mg subutux, I was told to stop taking it 2 days prior to surgery an was prescribed 10 mg oxycodone 4 times a day for withdrawel. I has surugery yesterday and was told to double the oxygen and take 20 mg every 4 hours. l I can not sleep I am in withdrawel and in agony. ## Did you contact your doctor? The Buprenorphine in Subutex is a very strong narcotic opiate, so you might not be on a high enough dosage of the Oxycodone to actually help. I can understand their not wanting you to take it for surgery, but did they say why they didn't want you going back on it afterwards? It can handle pain and would have avoided these types of problems. ## I feel awful for you have you told them yet...if so go to the er! ...

does subutex really do the trick?

Ive been using opiates for a few years now and im just gettin sick and tired of the bull thats involved with it. I cop my pills illegally and its only a matter of time before something happens. Im looking into subutex so i can have energy to work. I work a very physically demanding job and unless i am on opiates i have no drive to get things done when i am working. It helps me get threw the day and gives me motivation to work.I take suboxin but it makes me sick to my stomach and sometimes i vomit. Is there a way to help with these symptoms ## THe symptoms you are describing are normal side effects of the Buprenorphine that is in both Suboxone and Subutex, because it is still a narcotic opiate.
