I have to take a drug test next week, ( in seven days), and took 2 mg of Ativan. I was wondering if it will show in a urine test. I am 165 lbs and have a reasonably high metabolism. ## After 7 days, no it should not show in a urine test, thought it will be detectable much longer in blood, tissue or hair tests. If yo have a valid prescription, all you have to do though is tell them that when you go in for the test. My 18 yr old sister told me she altered a prescription her psychiatrist gave her for Ativan for a higher dose. I told our mother, a retired nurse, who told me NY just a few yrs ago started some sort of tracking system to find these types of things & prosecute them, so she could get caught. My mom found a Rehab in another state for her to get help, but now we're worried the cops will be coming for her.With these programs, how long a time frame does she have before they catch up to her?

If Xanax and Ativan are both benzodiazapines, why did the Ativan work to relieve anxiety without causing depression but the Xanax didn't? ## It really depends on the person and how your body reacts to it. Just as an example, I'm fine with a low dose .5mg of Ativan, but if I take anything higher it makes me depressed and I feel very groggy for several days afterwards. However, there are other people that use it just fine without any problems. You really just have to figure out what works for you. I mistakenly took 1mg of ativan yesterday around 4:30 pm. I have a probation urine test today at 6 pm. I have never before taken a benzo. I've been drinking water and coffee and eating regularly. I weigh a muscular 185 pounds. I've heard that I'm either screwed or in the clear. Can anyone shed some light? ## I think your good even if it is sent to the lab. Ativan is in the Benzo family (Xanax, Ativan, Valuim, Klonopin...so on). I have taking Ativan for 25 years in conjunction with my heart, severe anxiety , which my heart pills do not take care off. If I don't have my Ativan, I get very anxious and eventual my heart goes out of rhythm. Now my Cardiologist tells me I can't get them, because he is not allowed to prescribe them. OMG, what can I do? ## Just an update! I am living in Jacksonville, NC and this issue may have been partially resolved. I have been taking one of each in order to take the edge off the anti depressant (Aspen Escitalopram.), is that too much? ## I really cannot say, you didn't say how high of a dosage you were taking of anything. Have these all been prescribed by your doctor? Do you have any other medical conditions and is this all the medications you are taking? I do want to warn you that these are BOTH Benzodiazepines, so they should not both be used at the same time. Can you post back with more information?

After my Sinuplasty surgery 2 days ago I was given a scrip for 10 tabs of Percocet 5 -325 to be taken 1-2 every 4-6 hours as needed. I also have scrip for Ativan EQ .5mg. I was given several weeks ago for Metroprolol withdrawal that was causing my BP&pulse rate to go up. Since all the pharmaceutical companies buy & sell companies regularly and the pharmacies switch to the cheapest generics they can find monthly, has anyone found in the year 2015, a generic Ativan/Lorazepam that is of good quality? I only take it as needed and do not take daily. Just before Christmas I filled a script for generic Ativan and did not feel that it worked anymore than drinking a glass of water. The imprint is Watson, 241/1, white, round. My health insurance will pay for generic only. I am allowed to pay a higher copay in order to get the Brand medication if I wanted but Brand gets costly. How much is too much? I've been realizing I'm taking higher and higher doses. I need help. How much is considered an overdose? ## I know what you mean, but the term overdose itself is explanatory. Anytime you take more of the prescribed dose is an overdose and you risk adverse reactions. It's a gamble each time. I know it's easier said than done, but if you need an adjustment, it's best to talk to your physician. I know that sounds very stuck up and not understanding but I do. I speak from experience that running out early is far worse than needing that adjustment to a higher dose. Does ativan / lorazepam lower blood pressure at 1 mg tab? I am starting new bp meds that haven't kicked in yet. I was weaning off ativan but felt pressure was a bit high so I took a whole 1 mg for the first time in a week. I was down to 1 1/2 for the whole day. The ER gave me 2 mg to lower my blood pressure and it worked but I don't want to take 2. I was labeled with panic disorder about three years ago. I've had Klonopin prescribed while I was on suboxone and alto it helped a little tiny bit, it was not nearly enough. I was taking two mg three times daily. Along with 20 mg suboxone daily. That's two and a half pills. I panic for no good reason. My chest is always hurting and heavy and I can't ever catch my breath. Okay well I was injured in a very bad car accident and I am suffering from a Traumatic brain injury and also I have a very hard time talking without a large amount of benzodiazepines; but for right now i am only given 2mg 3xs a day of ativan,but yeah so before that i was on 1mg 3xs a day of Xanax, but yeah the reason I switched to ativan was bc plus I have honestly become immune to the Xanax ..so yeah I am going to be seeing a nuerologist on March 2nd and from their diagnoses i am going to have to take it to my Dr appt on March 7th and then I will have to get a recommendation from the neurologist 2 be at a stronger does. Husband has myriad of physical and mental issues, the most debilitating to me is his anxiety and depression. Given the meds he has used already for years, what else could he take that woudnt interfere with what he is taking now? He goes for a psych medication evaluation in two days and starts pain mgmt in two weeks. Any input highly appreciated ## I have been on almost everything for depression. .MDD, Oct and anxiety.
