May I cut a hydrocodone M357 tablet in half? ## when i take hydrocodone it puts me to sleep and i am sleepy all the next day. is it possible to cut this pill in half and will it still make me sleepy ## The answer to your question is Yes, you can cut this pill in half to divide your dose. The main reason I know this is because M357 has a score line going through half of the pill. To my knowledge the score line is there for this specific purpose :) More details about this drug can be found in the link below: I hope this helps! ## That is correct, it is not a time released medication and you can cut it in half to lower the dosage. I had to do so myself, when a dentist prescribed it for an infection and the entire pill was too much and made me very ill. As a general rule, if the medication ...

My doctor prescribed me Hydroco 7.5 500 mg. I also take Spironolact and Pantoprazole 40 mg. Hydroco seems too strong for me, so I cut it in half. I was wondering if that is o.k? I am diagnosed with Cirohsis of the liver and I have poor circulation on my legs, and they are very swollen, so I take Hydroco for pain. I also have anemia and an umbilical hernia. Oh and by the way I have an enlarged heart. ## Although I can't give you a definite answer, as long as the drug is not an extended release tablet, cutting it in half shouldn't hurt you. Always pay attention to how your body feels, and if you have any concerns it is best to double check with your prescribing physician. small round blue pill with an R on one side and a line on the other side with the numbers 031 ## To answer your question, yes, this pill can be split in half since there is a score line on the pill. I have also seen 0.5 mg doses of this drug, so it would only make sense to me that this can be done. For more information about this drug, please refer to the link below... If you have any other questions or concerns, please post back and I will be happy to help you. ## Totally agree with David's reply. ANY tablet can be cut if it is scored. The score is an real indication of permission. Pill cutters brought from pharmacys can come in handy and give you a better chance of breaking it evenly if cutting on a regular bases. ## I have, alprozolam 2.0 can I cut it in half if I don't want t...

white pill ## What does 20/12.5 mg mean? ## The pill you have is Lisinopril (20 mg) + Hydrochlorothiazide (12.5 mg). To answer your question, the two numbers simply stand for the milligram of each ingredient. These two drugs are respectively a combination of a diuretic and an ACE inhibitor, to control hypertension. You can view a detailed description of the drug, by clicking on the link below... If you have any more questions or comments to add, please post back so I can further assist you. ## can this pill be cut in half if too strong ## I would check to see if there is a score line on the pill. If so, pills with score lines are generally made to be cut in half. I believe there is a Lisinopril 10 mg + Hydrochlorothiazide 7.5 mg combination in which case I personally would feel content ...

My pain mgt MD gives me oxycodone IR 30mg but I cut in two and see if pain goes below 5 of 10 after 1 hr after first dose of half tab, if not I then take the other half. So far since my leg reconstruction surgery 7 weeks ago I have needed the full 30mg every time. Here is my question: Will I get a longer time of pain relief and thus a longer time period of my sense of well being when pain is gone by (1) taking the 30mg at single dose q 4 hrs or by (2)taking 15mg q 2 hrs, of course not taking the 2nd 15mg dose if pain<5? It seems to be cumulative but not in any consistent way that I can get a pattern tracked for optimal benefit? I was an RN for many years prior to CVA a few years ago, so am familiar with some of this but of course individual results vary. Thanks ## If your doctor app...

I have no more AF so tried to go off Eliquist and diltiazam. However when I did (slowly, one at a time) I felt a tightness in my chest and a rapid heartbeat for a few seconds on getting up. Is this from going off the medicine or is it a different heart problem. Can't get in to see the specialist until March. ## Please tell me how to get off 180mg of diltiazam. I have been on it for four years and have a pacemaker. For five months now I have had no problems at all. The AF has gone completely away and I believe it's because of prayer. I have cut ELiquist in half and am feeling really good. When I had my pacemaker checked the last two times it proves that nothing is going on. I'm afraid to go cold turkey. Anyone have any advice? Thanks ## I'm in the same boat. Let's bra...

My small child picked up a pill on the floor of a restaurant today. It is round, flat and orange with a stylized letter E or G (like a logo design) and the number 43 underneath it. The other side has a cut line in the center to enable someone to break the pill in half. I worry that it could be a pill that is harmful to handle. ## Located a match to a round pill with E 43 on it, it's Midodrine HCl 5 mg. Midodrine is indicated for the treatment of symptomatic orthostatic hypotension. To learn more click on the link below... Do you have any more questions or information to add? Can I overdose on 1 30mg ER morphine tablet? i weigh 173 lbs if that atters. i have nver taken anything stronger then a hydro 10 and kinda scared to take this medicine. ## I'm not personally aware of the difference in potency from Hydrocodone to Morphine, but I wouldn't suggest taking anything that puts a scare in you like that. If it's too strong it's too strong and your best bet would be to start off with a smaller dose (cut in half perhaps to assess your tolerance). To answer your question though, I don't believe you can overdose on 1 tablet, but you may or may not experience some very undesirable side effects if your body is not used to it. Unfortunately the only way to find out is to try it. I would just suggest a smaller dose to start off. I hope this advice he...

Does it hurt the op 40's if they are cut in half? I don't like to take the whole pill at once. ## Since these are time released tablets, it isn't advisable that you cut them in half, because even with the new formulation, it could still result in the Oxycodone being released faster, so you get too much in your body, at once. There are lower dosages available, have you tried asking your doctor about just prescribing a lower one? ## That's not correct you can cut them ## Yeah you can. I seriously just took a 30mg op cut in half and it felt like 5 or six of my 10 mg (pink) oxycodone. I believe my tolerance is pretty high and my doctor has me on 8 pink 10's a day. So to answer your question you'd be fine taking half a 40. Don't listen to all the conservatives. Li...

I was put on 25 mg. of chlortalidone several months ago. I lost a lot of weight and felt terrible. I contacted my dr. and they had me cut it in half. I continued to not feel well and started having irregular heartbeat, tingling and numbness, muscle cramps. My dr. sent me to a cardiologist who ran a stress test and echocardiogram. It showed irregular heart rythmns but he said he thought I was ok. I had read about low potassium while on diuretics so he asked if I'd had a blood test (which I hadn't nor was it ever suggested). My potassium came back below normal so the cardiologist & fam dr. were all worried and told me to increase my potassium and get retested in a week. I did and my results came back normal. But I still feel awful--irregular heartbeat, tingling, stomach issues...

Hi, I had been on paroxetine 20 mg for about a month, and suddenly have like, a layer of fat on my belly that hasn't gone away. For more background, I started taking it probably a little more than a month and a half ago, and I started experiencing some extreme (for me) side effects that I had never experienced with anxiety or depression meds before, namely dizziness and feeling sleepy more often. I looked up other people's experiences to see if those were common side effects, and then saw people talking about how it made them gain a lot of weight. I'm 5' tall and about 95 lbs, and have never had any problems with weight before but just in case I made sure to start exercising more/longer (both cardio and muscle toning type stuff), cut down on sugar (and some other things ...

Can I cut the pill in half? I use it to help me sleep. The pill is too strong. Do I have to take the whole pill? I notice it has a coating on it. ## Hello, Darlene! How are you? There is no time released Hydroxyzine, so that should be okay, unless your doctor feels there is some reason not to do so, but it might taste horrible, once some of the coating has been removed. The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth, and sedation. Is there anything else I can help with? ## Yeah i believe you can cut it if it's too strong. But it is also advisable to consult a doctor and ask for advice before doing so. Then you will be sure of what you are doing. So it's left to you to decide

This is my 1st post ever, anywhere. I am trying to get off Fentanyl. 7 years ago I was Rx'ed 25 mcg patches every 72 hrs. Went to every 48 hrs within a month. Went to a 50 every 48 to a 75 every 48 to the 100 mcg every 48 hrs.. Been on 100 mcg's (48 hrs) for several years now and I'm sick and tired of taking the patch. I have DDD, two failed rotator cuff surgeries as well as an elbow surgery (pain). The shoulder and back pain is the worst. I'm 52 years old, worked a steady job with Ma Bell as a lineman 25 years and wore my body out. Three weeks ago I started cutting my Mylan brand 100 mcgh patches in half. So far so good. How long does the medicine last in your system? What are the side effects of this medication? Can it be mixed with any other medicine such as tylenol, advil or excedrin? ## Hi Carlos, Chlorpheniramine is reported to be the active ingredient in Clorfeniramina Maleato. Chlorpheniramine has a half life of 21-27 hours; meaning that it can take roughly a full day before the last dosage you took is cut in half. Most pharmacists consider 5 half lives (5 days in this case) to be the average time frame it takes to leave your system. Keep in mind though that higher half life values ranging up to 43 hours have been reported. In cases like this, the drug can take as long as a 10 days to leave your system.
