My thirteen year old son(140 lbs) had a strong bacterial infection involving his salivary glands. His face was very swollen. In order to avoid hospitalization(IV), the doctor prescribed avalox. He finished it 2 days ago. When is it safe to return to bball(his passion) w/out risk to his tendons? This is his life and he is distraught. He is an integral part of 2 teams, but we obviously do not want to compromise his health. ## I suggest speaking to his doctor about this, that way you will get advice on the safest time frame. ## i am a 57 y/o female with polycyctic kidney disease post transplant jul 5 2000 and i have been on predisone ever since. I ordered arthri-d one day and tried to cancel the next. The company's customer service department will not answer. 7 times now I have called. This will go to my bank to be removed as soon as they send the order. My word of advice is don't buy unless you know all.

As a victim of refractory depression I have only found one medication that worked, EMSAM, unfortunately I am allergic to acrylic adhesives. Has anyone found a way to get around the contact dermatitis the EMSAM acrylic matrix can cause? ## Hi Keller, While I may not have personal experience with EMSAM, I did want to suggest trying some sort of topical anti-inflammatory compound to help combat any dermatitis that might occur after applying the adhesive. A couple alternative remedies that you might want to look into are: lavender essential oil (can help reduce redness, anti-inflammatory, anti-bacterial, and more) topical ointments that contain cayenne pepper (for its great anti-inflammatory benefits) There are a plethora of other essential oils that offer similar benefits as well. I hope t...

I have been taking suboxone for 2 years. Out of nowhere I just recently (2 weeks) developed what appears to be contact dermatitis. It started as a single red itchy spot and has spread ferociously over the last 2 weeks. Nothing has changed dosage wise. I also took in two foster kittens but the first red spot occurred before the kittens came and I have owned cats my entire life. Is it possible to develop an allergy to suboxone at random? There is no other side effects, no swelling of face or tongue no nausea or dizziness. The dermatitis (we'll call it) is only on my torso and arms. I just need to know if it's even possible to develop an allergy to this after being on it for so long? It doesn't make sense. Please help! ## Hello, James! How are you? I'm sorry about the probl...

I have a serious ear infection. I have surgery on monday morning. What can i take to ease the pain? ## Hi Jasmine, Sorry to hear about your ear infection. I see that you posted this message back on Feb. 11th (over a week ago)...Were you able to find anything yet to manage the pain? My first thought would be to contact your surgeon and/or anesthesiologist since they should be informed prior to the surgery about whatever it is you're taking that may or may not interfere with their operation or any medicine they give you during the operation. I don't know what type of surgery you're having, but in most cases the surgeon provides patients with pre and post op instructions. Best wishes to you!

I have hypothyroid. I have a food intolerence to dyes, fillers and Additives. I found information on Tirosint. It appears to be the least amount of additives. Where can you get it? ## You might want to contact an international firm such as pharmaworld.com - they are located in Switzerland and appear to be run by a credible staff. ## You'd have to ask your doctor to prescribe it as brand medically necessary. Tirosint contains Levothyroxine, and may cause side effects, such as mood changes, weight changes, and hair loss. Ref: Tirosint Information Is there anything else I can help with?

Can you give iophen to dogs that have kennel cough ## No wtf it's a human prescription go get a prescription for your dog unless you want that dog to be leanin like a mf ## There are many human prescriptions that also have veterinary applications (namely antibiotics and pain medication). An article by Colorado State University also notes that Codeine (an active ingredient in Iophen) is in fact used in dogs. Furthermore, NIH.gov depicts Guaifenesin's use in dogs as well; Guaifenesin being the other active ingredient in Iophen. Nevertheless I do think it's imperative that the pet owner contact a veterinarian for more specific details involving proper dosing instructions... Since animals tend to be much more sensitive to drugs than humans, even a minor dosing mistake could be c...

I just started taking Bentyl for diarrhea, but I have been taking Xanax for anxiety. Now I'm feeling very dizzy. Should I stop Xanax? ## Hello Ern, I'll start by giving some helpful advice. Any time that you are taking prescription medication it is a good idea to contact your doctor prior to taking anything else, even if it is over the counter medication for something that may seem rather urgent. According to the cvs drug interaction checker this combination of medication may increase the sedative properties. This is a moderate drug interaction and shouldn't be cause for a great concern generally but I don't know your entire health history or medical status. Since the Xanax is the prescription medication I would suggest you don't stop taking that medication and inste...
