So for each 30mg Oxycodone, you'd need 45mgs of Morphine. However because everyone reacts to these medications differently, it's almost like comparing apples and bananas here. Regarding side effects, drug interactions state that "using morphine together with oxycodone may increase side effects such as dizziness, drowsiness, and difficulty concentrating. Some people may also e... ...

just wanted to know if there is a difference between the 2. I am perscribed morphine sulfate er 15 mg twice daily. My neck has been operated on a few times so i have severe pain daily. I forgot my pills at home over the weekend. My mother is perscribed Opana 10mg. She gave me one and it seemed to work better. Wanted to know if there is a difference between the 2. I am not sure how to go about asking my dr to switch me. Don't want her to freak about my mom giving me one of hers... ## Opana contains the active ingredient Oxymorphone and it is actually stronger than Morphine. So, the one 10mg tablet that you took was actually equal to taking 30mgs of the Morphine, at once. They are both narcotics, so the side effect profile is similar and can include: nausea, dizziness, drowsiness and ... ...

Adding food coloring to clear liquid morphine
1 Reply RSS
I am a hospice nurse. We administer clear liquid morphine to our patients and teach the family how to administer it. Many are having trouble seeing how much they are pulling up in the syringe. Is is appropriate to add a very tiny minuscule amount of blue food coloring so that the patients can see the liquid and be safe? Please help. Thanks ## Hello, Pamela! How are you? I'm not sure if it would be safe, since food colorings aren't made to be used in such a manner. There are some dyes that are, so you may want to look into ordering one of them and using it. You wouldn't need a lot, just enough to add a slight tint to make it easier to see. Thankyou ## Trying to increase the Oxycodone 'feeling is what often leads to addiction and you should really watch that habit. Narcotic LEAST likely to harm the liver? Morphine?
1 Reply RSS
Of all the narcotic pain meds, is Morphine the LEAST likely to affect the liver in a negative way? If not Morphine then which of this type and class of drug is the least toxic to the liver? ## Hello, Keikeeo! How are you? Most medications are processed through the liver and carry the same risks of harm, as long as they don't contain Acetaminophen. Thus, along with Morphine, other options can include Oxycodone, Hydrocodone and Hydromorphone. I have chronic back pain from two fusions. I fell from 5 step up on a rainy deck and I had to have C3-4 fusion and L5-S1 And have been on pain meds for 11 years. This is the only way I can get through the day. ## Hello, Rita! How are you? There are 70mg and 75mg extended release capsules available and the next up in tablet form from the current dosage you are taking would be 100mg extended release tablets. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. 17 Replies RSS
I am taking morphine sulfate er 30mg tablets twice a day and also taking morphine sulfate imm rel 15mg once, sometimes twice a day. Finances won't allow me to get the morphine er at this time. Question: what is dosage of morphine imm per day without morphine er for 5 or 6 day until I can get the morphine er? ## They are both Morphine, so the dosage would be the same, however, the problem you are going to run into is that it is not going to last as long and since it is being released into your body much faster, this will potentiate the side effects, such as the nausea, dizziness and constipation that it can cause. Have you consulted with your doctor? You should really do so, before you try anything of this nature. It would probably work better for managing your pain to take a lower d... ...

how strong is a 30mg morphine and much release an hour

How much does a 30 miligram tablet release every hour if you take one very 12 hours ## Hello! How are you? The strength is 30mgs, but the specifics on their time released are not released, because that would actually be proprietary information. Thus, they only have to prove with testing that the medication is being released to the FDA, but not tell the public how much each hour, half hour or whatever. You can find more Oxycodone details here and there are more Morphine details here.
