I have a case of the gout and this medican was prscbr: for me by my Dr. to treat my gout i have taken 4 pills 1 every 12 hr (2 pre day) it has not gotten better ## Predisone is a steroid class medication and while it can help with the inflammation that can occur from gout, it is unlikely that it will treat the underlying cause, which is excess uric acid, so is isn't likely to really help clear up the condition. It may also cause some side effects, such as: nausea, weight gain and fluid retention, which could actually worsen your condition. Have you discussed this with your doctor? Here is a link to more details about gout, its causes and treatments: Steroids are, sometimes, used, but, as I stated above, they don't always treat the entire problem for everyone that tries them. ## ...

Gout (also known as podagra when it involves the big toe)[1] is a medical condition usually characterized by recurrent attacks of acute inflammatory arthritis—a red, tender, hot, swollen joint. The metatarsal-phalangeal joint at the base of the big toe is the most commonly affected (approximately 50% of cases). However, it may also present as tophi, kidney stones, or urate nephropathy. It is caused by elevated levels of uric acid in the blood. The uric acid crystallizes, and the crystal...

My doctor told me I had an ear infection and prescribed Amox-Clav 875-125 since I work in the UAE ( I think she thinks I may have brought it over). I developed sinus drainage, extreme sore throat, coughing, and sinus infection symptoms about three days after getting to the states. Since taking the medicine, I have developed pains in my entire left foot. I have gout, and this feels like an expanded case of gout. My throat pain is gone, but now my eyes are blood-shot and matty, and my foot hurts. ## Hello, Marc! How are you doing? Has there been any change? Gout is not something that the FDA lists as a typical side effect of this medication, they usually include nausea, dizziness, headache, diarrhea, and non-allergic skin rash. However, it is difficult to say how any given medication will...

I have been using allopurin for about 12 months now as a gout relief treatment. I have noted that I have been getting outbreaks of rashes - brownish red spots, slightly raised which develop into dry, flaky skins patches - concentrated around the lower back, and upper buttock. This has become concerning now as they have now spread to the legs as well as under the arms. My wife says it is the Puricos (allopurin) and thinks I must discontinue. Any comment or view ## Have you consulted your doctor? It is rare, but Allopurinol can cause a rash, in some people and, when it does, they usually do have to discontinue use of it. is rheumatism/gout a side effect of myrin p forte? My mother had swelling in her knees and hands after taking the medicine for two weeks. ## Has a doctor diagnosed her condition as gout? This medication contains Ethambutol, Rifampicin and Pyrazinamide, it is used to treat Tuberculosis. They don't cause gout themselves, however if someone already has an active case of it, they will make it worse. So, if that's what it is, it's likely that she already had it and the medication aggravated the condition.

I recently began taking Januvia and in less than 2 weeks later I got my first case of gout. Has anyone else had this happen to them? ## I have just been given a prescription for januvia. I notice that one of the side effects is an upper respiratory infection. I am having a knee replacement in two weeks, and I don't need to have an infection. What has been the experience with this? ## I was put on Januvia two days ago and I now have gout in my wrist. ## First off, let me state that this is NOT what would be considered a drug interaction, a drug interaction occurs when you are taking more than one drug at the same time and the two (or more) of them together cause adverse effects. If this type of problem is caused by the drug, then it is considered a Side Effect. That said, I can only ...

I have been taking Eliquis for 3 weeks and have had 3 gout flare-ups. I am not drinking beer and have had limited red meat and seafood (3 of the more popular triggers). Is there a connection between Eliquis and gout flare-ups? ## Hello, Todd! How are you doing? I am sorry about the problem you're having. Yes, gout is a common side effect of this medication, according to FDA reports, you may also experience nausea, dizziness, headache, increased risk of bleeding, and easy bruising. Are you on any other medications? ## I started taking Indomethacin for the gout flare-ups and it worked good. I am not on any other medications. My doctor believes the gout flare-ups were due to rapid weight loss (down 25 pounds in 1.5 months).

osteoarthritis pain from lactic acid ## Hello, Jules! How are you? What condition are you asking about? It seems you're confusing several. I have been taking Quinapril for many years, but cannot get it in Malaysia, so now take Perindopril. I have also suffered from occasional gout for years - but recently attacks have become much more frequent (every couple of weeks). I get gout. Whats better for keeping it down, naproxen 500mg or indomethacin 50mg? Also how much % of antinflamatory is in the naproxen 500mg? ## Because both of these medications are nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), their effectiveness is going to depend upon a comparable dosage to one-another as well as the way your body responds to each medication. Personally, I would look into natural remedies (such as essential oils) as a treatment option, simply due to the fact that there are little or no side effects in comparison to pharmaceutical drugs. As to how much % of anti-inflamatory is in the Naproxen, I don't have an answer to that. Have you tried either of those medications yet to see how well each one helps?
