Can I Take Percocet With Ibuprofen

I took 400 mg of Advil about 2 hours ago while eating. When is it safe to take a 5/325 mg Percocet? I had a minor surgery on a Bartholin cyst last night. ## Hello, Smith! How are you? I HAD RECTACELE SURGERY. I ALSO HAVE SEVERE BACK PROBLEMS. I TAKE 1 OXYCOD/ACETAMIN EVERY 4 HOURS AS NEEDED FOR PAIN. CAN I ALSO TAKE 1 200MG IBUPROFEN WITH IT? So I was diagnosed with Shingles last week and was initially prescribed Vicodin for the pain by Urgent Care. In 6 days blew through the 20 Vicodin due to the pain being unreal. I called my PCP and they upgraded the prescription to Percocet 5-325 because the Vicodin was simply not working. The Urgent Care doctor called me and said no don't take the Percocet, take 600mg of Ibuprofen instead and if that doesn't show relief then they said to try Gabapentin. Between the Valtrex and Vicodin I've had extremely minimal side effects, mainly just drowsiness fortunately. I'm confused as to how 600mg of Ibuprofen is supposed to do what Vicodin couldn't do over 56 days 5-6 times a day? would this be classified as oxycontin ? they are small pink pill--19mg ## Percocet contains Acetaminophen and Oxycodone in a regular release formulation, so the equivalent without the Acetaminophen would be Roxicodone. OxyContin is a time released formulation. Additionally, there is no 19mg tablet. Are there any markings on the tablet in question? ## Oxycontin is simply an extended release version of Oxycodone. Without Acetaminophen though, Percocet would just be Oxycodone (immediate release). Is there an imprint on the pill you are describing? Was in the er a few nights ago and the doctor gave me 600 mg Mortrain and 2 325 mg of percocet. When we took my prescriptions In to get filled they switch them to oxycodone and ibuprofen can I still take them together like the doctor wants ## Hi Heather, How are you? With that said, I don't see any reason why you wouldn't be able to continue taking them together as the doctor suggested. I take Lortab 10's, Fentanyl 100mg patch every 3 days and Ibuprofen. I stay in constant pain and wanted to know what I could switch to that would be stronger and help with my constant pain. Hello, I am having back surgery on Tuesday (it's Friday night now) because of extruded discs. I was told that I could not take any Ibuprofen for the pain, so they prescribed me Percocet 5/325 to help with the agonizing pain. It says to take 1 every 6 hours and that the maximum daily dose is 4. The issue is that after just a few hours the pain comes back full force (the pain never fully goes away...) and I end up taking one every 3-5 hours depending on how active I am and how painful it is. For instance, today I took one at 9am, 1pm, 6pm and 10pm because of the amount of pain I have been in. Is this safe for such a short period of time, if I end up doing something like this on a daily basis? I only plan on taking it if it's absolutely necessary, but I've been in horrible pain...

Hi looking for some guidance hoping someone could shed some light. I have very chronic neck and back pains. I also having bulging disk in my neck C4 all the way to C6. I have been on Norco, Vicadin, Ibuprofen 800, genetic Percocet and name brand Percocet ( the hello pill with the Percocet logo on it) I have had 2 neck procedures done. I’ve been prescribed Percocet and was told I could take Advil (I imagine any type of ibuprofen) or Alieve to help boost the pain relief. Will I get the same by using Percocet in conjunction with Meloxicam or what would be the best way to boost it?? Any suggestions for something stronger than vicodin? It really doesn't work anymore. I take two 7.5mg doses every 4 hours 3 x a day and A LOT of motrin. ## Wow! Does your doctor know that you are taking the Vicodin and Motrin? It is really not good to be taking both of those. The Vicodin contains Acetaminophen and the Motrin contains Ibuprofen. As to what else you can use for pain, there are many other options on the market, if the Hydrocodone in the Vicodin is no longer cutting it. One option that would be stronger is Percocet, which contains Acetaminophen and Oxycodone. Ip 464 is Generic Percocet 10mg/500mg ## I'm sorry, but that is not correct. The round, white tablet with IP over 464 contains 400mgs of Ibuprofen. Its side effects may include nausea, dizziness, headache and stomach irritation. Is there anything else I can help with?
