Can I Take Meloxicam With Tylenol 3

I'm having bad back spasms! I am currently on Humira and have taken my 15 mg meloxicam with no relief. Ice helps somewhat. Can I take a Tylenol-3 (with codeine)? ## I didn't find any problems or interactions listed, but it is always best to double check. Have they all been prescribed for you? The FDA warns that Codeine carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, constipation, and dry mouth. Are you on any other medications? ## I have severe hip and leg pain and I am on regular meds for other things too. I took Tylenol #3 and Meloxicam and the regular meds. Is that ok or should I go to the emergency room?

I'm taking Nucynta 100mg 4 x a day with IB profen 800mg 3 x a day for back pain but am currently out of Nucynta so I have been taking Tylenol/Codeine # 3 and # 4 with my IB Profen and a few 7.5 Meloxicam. I should be getting my refill today but I take the other meds to keep from going into withdrawels, been there several times getting off Oxy, and several other opiates and it is nothing nice. Are these safe to mix? ## You should not be mixing the Ibuprofen and the Meloxicam, the FDA classifies these both as nonsteroidal anti-inflammatories, so you are essentially doubling up on the same medication, which increases your risk of bleeding, stomach irritation, and possible ulceration. How are you doing? There is also a risk of liver damage from combining those two medications, according...

I hurt my knee and I just started taking meloxicam. The doctor said to take extra strength Tylenol. I have some Tylenol 3 that I had for my jaw. Can I take it with meloxicam? ## Tylenol 3 contains Codeine, alone with Acetaminophen, according the FDA lists. Thus it would be best not to take it, unless your doctor instructs you to do so. The FDA warns that it carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth, and constipation. Is the Meloxicam helping? What type of knee injury did you experience?

I have osteoarthritic hips and run a restaurant, I am on my feet 5-6 hours a day. I currently take meloxicam 3-4 days a week with Tylenol Arthritis. I need something stronger, would Tramadol 50mg be a better choice? Could I take them both in the morning safely? ## Tramadol is classified as an opiate, by FDA standards, so it carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, constipation, and dry mouth. As to your other question, it depends on what you want to take it with? I'm sorry, but your post wasn't clear. Can you please post back and clarify? Thank you!

Does Meloxicam contain Aspirin or Tylenol? ## Hi Lynnette - No, Meloxicam is its own drug / active ingredient. It is a different drug from Aspirin or Acetaminophen (the active ingredient in Tylenol), though it is in a similar classification. Meloxicam is a Nonsteroidal Anti-Inflammatory drug (NSAID) most commonly prescribed for osteoarthritis (OA) and rheumatoid arthritis (RA). More Details:

meloxicam is taken instead of advil. it is used like advil or tylenol or alieve. it should work the day you take it. it should not take days or weeks fr you to notice a difference in pain levels. i take it daily along with my other pain medications,, and if i forget it the narcotic meds do not even work as well. they are both necessary ## Hello, Allison! How are you? Thank you for your post. You are correct, traditional analgesics, including NSAIDs, such as Meloxicam do work as soon as you take them, they don't require a certain period of time to reach their full efficacy level, which is why they are often prescribed to be taken as needed. And the reason narcotics don't seem to work as well without it, is because NSAIDs and Acetaminophen potentiate the action of narcotics, so it...

I've took meloxicam for five days for a toothache and discontinued use two days ago I'm having pain again is it ok to take a ibuprofen ## Hello, Lisa! How are you? It should be fine, as long as your prescriber approves. It's usually taking them at the same time, together, that may cause problems, according to the NIH, such as liver damage, liver failure, increased risk of bleeding, stomach irritation, and stomach ulceration. When are you having the tooth fixed? ## I just started taking meloxicam 15mg daily (supposed to be for a month for plantar fasciatis on both heels). The doctor specifically told me to stop taking ibuprofen, naproxen or any other NSAID. He said I can take tylenol. So, I would check with the doctor who prescribed the meloxicam. One side effect i: Ibuprofen...

How often can it be taken? My RX says once a day. Is it ok to take 1 in the AM and 1 in the PM? ## I take 15mg meloxicam in the morning and it seems to do ok, but by bed time I have pain and can't sleep. Could I take one Aleve? ## Is 2 aleve twice a day equal to one 15mg melodic am? It does not seem to last 24 hours. ## I have arthritis in my hip and was given a cortisone shot 2 months ago. As it has worn off the pain is gradually returning. I was prescribed meloxicam but started pain management with first Tylenol and am back to Aleve. My last dose was 1 day ago and wonder if it is now ok to try the meloxicam? I want to make sure the Aleve is out of my system. ## I accidentally took three ibuprofen and one 15 mg of meloxicam at the same time. I realized this after I had swallowed th...

I ran out of my meloxicam that I take for severe arthritis and degenerative disc disease. Due to being in the process of changing PCPs I am looking for an ITC comparable to the meloxicam or something that might even work better. I am a lot of pain and am having a hard time moving. To further complicate issues I had gastric bypass surgery 9 years ago and am supposed to be limited in taking NSAIDs. I am currently taking 2600mg of Tylenol two to three times a day and roughly 1600mg of Advil with minimal relief. Please advise. ## Unfortunately, there really isn't anything available over the counter that is a strong, which is why Meloxicam is available by prescription only. The FDA lists the typical side effects of this class of medications as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headac...

I've been taking 15 mg of Meloxicam once a day for about 2 weeks for bursitis. I'm also taking Tylenol approximately 2200 mg per day for pain. I've begun experiencing extreme dizziness just today when getting out of bed. I've notified my Dr. I didn't think and took today's dose of Meloxicam already. Is there anything I can do to help clear this medication out of my system? ## Hello Nana, Unfortunately I don't think there is anything you can do to metabolize the meloxicam any quicker without taking a different type of drug. There are no listed interactions with meloxicam and food or over the counter drugs that would increase the metabolism of your medication. A side note I wanted to let you know is that according to the National Institute of Health, dizziness ...

I went see my primary doctor for low back pain and gave me meloxicam 15mg to take once a day with food. Will it be safe to take? ## Hello, Vic! How are you? If you have chronic gastritis, you shouldn't take any nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory, such as the Meloxicam. They can be very harsh on the stomach and can cause gastritis, or gastritis flare ups as side effects. Other side effects, as listed by the FDA, may possibly include nausea, dizziness, headache and increased risk of bleeding. Is there anything else I can help with? ## tyvm, i'll call my doctor to see if he can prescribe something that's not NSAID, tylenol alone doesn't seem to help very much.

I started taking Meloxicam (15 mg) ten days ago for spondyloarthritis. I few days ago, I started having headaches and tension in my neck/shoulders. I read that you're not supposed to take iboprofen or other NSAIDS with it, so I took Tylenol instead to get rid of the headache, which worked. I also noticed that I was having bloating, belching, loose stools/diarrhea, and weight gain, despite diet and exercise. In fact, while I was doing my walking yesterday (roughly 3 miles or so in an air conditioned mall), I started feeling a little lightheaded and getting winded easier than I should have. Afterwards, on my way home, I stopped by the grocery store and was still feeling a little strange and when I reached the blood pressure machine I decided to check mine. It was high for me: 161/90+ ...

What are the side effects and how well does this drug work for severe arthritis in your back? ## Hello, Jessy! How are you? Like any medication, it works well for some people, but not for others, since we are all different. This is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory and the FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, increased risk of bleeding and stomach irritation. Have you tried it, yet? If so, is it helping you? ## Some of them mostly severe headache and stomach upset I tried to eat with it but no help ## My doctor put me on meloxicam can I take gabapentin100 in morning 300 at night. Also Tylenol and ibuprofen if needed ## I too am experiencing headache and diarrhea. It has helped with some joints but not my knees. I am thinking of stopping it...

I got a prescription for generic norco and it has watson 853 imprinted on it. I was wondering if I am getting the correct medication or if I am being ripped off at this pharmacy? It is yellow. ## white round ww 2410 ## What is a round, off white or very light yellow pill with M 89 imprinted on it? ## Watson 853 is indeed a generic for Norco. It contains Acetaminophen and Hydrocodone. No listing for WW 2410, sorry. M 89 is Meloxicam 15mgs, a generic for Mobic. This is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory. ## Is watson 853 indeed 10mg hydrocodone with 325 mg of tylenol? ## Is an oval small red pill with the markings KALI 083 a norco? ## Ron, KALI 083 is Acetaminophen 325 mg + Tramadol 37.5 mg, which is generic for Ultracet. ## Watson 853 - Yes, generic Norco...I have been getting it for a few...

Hi. I took Meloxicam 15mg tablet for 14 days. it was a white round pill. Doc told me not to take Advil with it but I could take Tylenol. I took the last pill 48 hours ago. How long before I can take Advil? ## Hello, Pearl! How are you? The reason he told you not to take Advil with it is because both it and Meloxicam are nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory medications, so taking them together would be doubling up and raises the risk of possible liver damage and bleeding. However, only a few days are necessary between them to safely switch. None of them linger that long. Unless your doctor specifies otherwise. Is there anything else I can help with?

I have been taken meloxicam for a week for bursitis in my right hip. Since I started this med I have fallen on my spine. I then took meloxicam with alieve only 5 gels. Stopped when I was told that this was not right. Started taking Tylenol now. My question is will this amount of alieve be real serious? Also can meloxicam cause stomach area to swell. Seems like mine has. ## Hello, Mickey! How are you? Both the Meloxicam and the Aleve are nonsteroidal anti-inflammatories, so taking both is bascally doubling up on the same medication and your doctor may want to check your liver function, since you took both. The swelling could be due to fluid retention, which it can sometimes cause, so you also need to have that checked out by your doctor. Are there any other questions or concerns?

started taken meloxicam 15mg a week tomorrow, for psoratic arthritis it has not reduced the pain, do I need to take it longer before it kicks in. also i have cramp in my hands and pins & needels ## Hello, Mary! How are you? The FDA classifies this medication as a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory and lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, increased risk of bleeding and stomach irritation. That said, it should have started to help right away, similar to Tylenol or Advil. If not, it's most likely not the right medication to help you and you'll need to see your doctor to try something else. Is there anything else I can help with?

I am looking for a doctor in sioux falls, sd that's not "afraid" to prescribe narcotic pain meds. I've had severe back pain for years, have been through chiropractors, physical therapy, injections, nothing helped. I feel like I just had to learn to live with the pain. Since having 2 kids, the pain has increased immensely, but my current Doc will not give me anything that helps. I have tried meloxicam, gabepentin, tramadol (which I found I was allergic to, though it did help slightly), and feel I am about to overdose on naproxen and tylenol, because they are all I have access to and though they don't help, I keep hoping they may if I take enough. I need something to help me function normally so that I can be a good mother. I hate just dealing with the pain. Thanks in ...

I have curvature in my back and arthritis in my back and the only relief I have is oxycodone, I want to get off this but do not know what to try. Would Meloxicam or Tramadol be a good substitute? Please tell me of anything else I can try. Alleve or Tylenol does not do much and I'm in constant pain without Oxy. ## Hello, Demi! How are you? Neither of those medications are as strong as Oxycodone, plus the Tramadol is also a type of opiate that carries the same risk of being habit forming. It can also cause very similar side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth and constipation. Why do you want to stop taking the Oxycodone? How long have you been on it and what dose do you take?
