Can I Take Hydrocodone Acetaminophen 5 325 And Ibuprofen

I have been taking 3 ibuprofen for jaw pain after having roots extracted for future implants. The dr had prescribed hydrocodone/acetaminophen 5-325, but I don't like the way it makes me feel. I was trying to cut back on pain meds after 4 days, so I took 2 of the ibuprofen instead of 3. It isn't helping, so can I add 1/2 of a hydrocodone pill or would it be better to take a 3rd ibuprofen pill? ## Scottie, If the hydrocodone was causing undesirable side effects taking an additional Ibuprophen would certainly not hurt. You may wish to take it with milk or something to coat your stomach .so long as you don't exceed the daily max.dose of any NSAID you will be fine.Hope you feel better soon,Kenie.

Hi my husband had carpal tunnel surgery done he is taking hydrocodon with acetaminophen 5-325 2 tablets every 4 hrs can he also take Advil ## They can be taken together, as long as his doctor approves. The FDA warns that opiate medications carry the risk of being habit forming and taking it together with Advil may cause him to experience more side effects than usual, which could include nausea, dizziness, headache, increased risk of bleeding and stomach irritation. Is there anything else I can help with? ## Can I take hydrocod/apap 5/325 with ibuprofen please help ## Can I take hydrocod /apap 5/325 with ibuprofen please help

Hi, I got 10 teeth extracted yesterday morning. For pain I was taking hydrocodone, and it makes me so sick with an awful lot of nausea and throw up. I don't wanna take this medicine... still got pain... Can I take ibuprofen instead? Thanks. ## Hello, Mary! How are you? It will not likely provide as much pain relief, and due to the risk of bleeding it can create, you should double check with your dentist to be sure it is safe for you. The FDA lists its other side effects as possibly including headache, dizziness, and stomach irritation. Are you on any other medications? Will you be getting a partial soon? ## Just got my gallbladder out and it seems the norco 5-325 only helps for a short time; so I was wondering if I could mix ibuprofen with norco? ## Can Norco & Ibuprofen be take...

Which is better to take for relieving pain from a pinched nerve (hydrocodone/acetaminophen 5-325mg or ibuprofen 100mg)? ## They really aren't comparable, to be honest. Hydrocodone with Acetaminophen is a narcotic pain reliever, while Ibuprofen is just a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory. The FDA warns that Hydrocodone carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth, and constipation. Which one has your doctor instructed you to take?

can I safely take hydrocodone 10 325 with 800 mg ibuprofen-I've been on hydro for years and I'm ha ving alot of pain now ## Yes you can take both. Ibuprofen is for inflammation. If taking it helps, you need to tell your dr. ## Hi Willy, Sorry to hear about the extent of your pain. From what I've found they actually do make a combination of Hydrocodone + Ibuprofen under the following brand names: Vicoprofen, Reprexain, and Ibudone. Perhaps you could ask your doctor about trying one of these as an alternative to the 325mgs of Acetaminophen, if you have any concerns about it's potential cumulative effects on liver health with long term use? Overcoming the pain is what matters, but I just try to encourage the safest methods possible if it can be helped. None the less, I hope...

is there a pain medication with ibuprofen that is stronger than the acetaminophen? ## Hello, Deloris! How are you? Yes, there is one called Vicoprofen that's available as the name brand and generic that contains Ibuprofen, rather than Acetaminophen. It isn't necessarily stronger, but it does work better for some people. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Is there anything else I can help with?

will the 800mg ibuprophen help boost 10/325 hydrocodone. That was prescribed to me years ago.Just wondering if that still goes?. ## Hello, Tammy! How are you? Since Acetaminophen is also in the tablet with the Hydrocodone to potentiate it, you shouldn't add the Ibuprofen, unless your doctor says that it's safe for you to do so. Is there anything else I can help with?

One Norco 10-325 is equal to how many Ibuprofen? I take 6 Ibuprofen at a time to kill pain and it just barely works. What is the strength difference between one Norco and the Ibuprofen? ## Hello, Mailand! How are you? There is actually no way to accurately compare these two medications, since Ibuprofen is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory and the Hydrocodone is an opiate narcotic that's coupled with Acetaminophen (aka Tylenol). The FDA warns that Hydrocodone carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth, and constipation. Which has your doctor instructed you to take?

My wife has horrible tooth pain in the upper and lower right molars. She just took two ea 200 mg ibuprofen about 1 hr ago with no relief. Can she take 1 10 mg hydrocodone/325 mg apap now? ## No, the two anti-inflammatories, Acetaminophen and Ibuprofen should not be mixed, that is too high of an amount of them and it raises the risk of bleeding and other complications. Has she contacted a dentist? ## correction. Ibuprofen and acteminophen serve 2 distinctly differant objectives and are wholey compatible to be used with each other. In fact is quite often perscrbed together. Ask doctor for cor5rect dossages. ## acetaminophen (Tylenol) does NOT have anti-inflammatory properties. It is ONLY an analgesic(pain reliever) and an antipyretic (fever reducer ## I have a severe toothache. I've b...

I'm allergic to aspirin and ibuprofen and I was wondering if hydrocodone acetaminophen 7.5-325 has any of that in it? Thanks ## No it does not. It's only hydrocodone and Tylenol. VICOPROFIN does have ibuprofen in it so stay away from that! All the best, HOUSE ## No it does not have any of that in it. It is two different kind of medication ## No. Hydrocodone has acetaminophen which is the ingredient in Tylenol. ## @cheeky, Yes, I agree with what everyone else said. Just to help clarify, every drug name which you listed in your message are actually different ingredients altogether. So if you are allergic to Aspiring and Ibuprofen, you might be able to take Hydrocodone and Acetaminophen (which are 2 completely different drugs). As long as your doctor is aware of your drug allergies...

I'm on warfarin, so I can't take ibuprofen. My gout is extremely painful, is hydrocodone-acetaminophen good for gout? ## Hello, Chayong! How are you? You should take it, unless your doctor has specifically told you to do so, because Acetaminophen can increased the effect of the Warfarin, which could increase your risk of dangerous bleeding. The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. I've had severe chronic pain for years. Pain dr. Gave me 7.5/325 hydrocodone. I have hep c and chronic anemia. I don't want either tylenol or Ib.. what can I ask for that has none of those and is stronger? Would a fentanyl patch work? ## Hello, Andrea! How are you feeling? Fentanyl is the strongest narcotic available, so it may not be wise to jump straight to it, because that's not going to leave you anywhere to go in the future, once you build up a tolerance. Learn more Fentanyl details here. There are several others that are stronger and don't contain NSAIDs. One would be Oxycodone, which is available in instant release, regular release and time released formulations. Learn more Oxycodone details here. There's also Morphine, Dilaudid and Opana. I was rear ended and was told i have a sprained lower back and the er doc prescribed me 400mg Ibuprofen, Baclofen 10mg, and Hydrocodone/Acetaminophen 5-325 Tb. Can i take these together? If not, how can i take these? On a side note, the pharmacist didn't give or explain it to me either. ## They can be taken together, if they have all been prescribed for you, but you may experience more side effects than usual, according to FDA reports, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, headache, and sedation. Have you started taking them, yet? If so, how are you feeling? Are you experiencing any issues? ## Has anyone taken 300 mg Wellbutrin, 100 mg Tramadol and 400 mg Naproxin together? hydrocodone is all the same. "Vicoprofen" is superior for dental pain ## Hi Kim, I'm not sure what the basis of your post is in so far as saying that "hydrocodone is all the same"? But the idea of adding Ibuprofen to the mix instead of the standard Acetaminophen/Tylenol doesn't seem to measure out a significant difference in my opinion, since they are both NSAID's. Vicoprofen may be good for pain for one person, but not necessarily another since everyone tends to respond differently. However each drug still comes with an understanding that undesirable and potentially fatal side effects such as liver or kidney damage, stomach bleeding, etc, has been reported to happen. So even if one does yield better results, the risk factors of using either one long term are...

do they make a vicodin 10/200 apap? ## No! The minimum amount of Acetaminophen in any of them is 325mgs. However, this is a medication called Vicoprofen, which contains 200mgs of Ibuprofen with the Hydrocodone. Since it's also a narcotic analgesic, it also has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, dry mouth, constipation and drowsiness. Hydrocodone BT-IBU 7.5-200 or Hydrocodonee-Acetaminophn 10-325, which is stronger? ## Hello, Bill! How are you? The doses of Ibuprofen and Acetaminophen are going to be approximately equivalent, so you have to look at the dose of the Hydrocodone, which means that the one with 10mgs is stronger. Learn more Vicodin details here. Learn more Vicoprofen details here. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. I had ankle surgery yesterday and they put 2 plates and 10 screws in my ankle. I was prescribed Tylenol 3s and ibuprofen 800mg when I went to the urgent care the day before surgery and was prescribed Valium 5mg and Hydrocodone/Acetaminophen 10-325 after surgery. Would it be safe for me to take a Valium 5mg and Tylenol 3 together for the pain to hold me over until it’s time for me to take my Norco again in 3 hours? Please advise. Thank you. ## You should not combine the Tylenol 3 and Norco, since they both contain opiate narcotics, as well as Tylenol/Acetaminophen. You should really stick with one, or the other. The FDA warns that these medications carry the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, constipation, and dry mouth. Why...

I just had eye surgery and was given Norco (4x a day) and Motrin (3x a day) to take for pain, can I take them at the same time or do I need to space them out? ## Hi Chris, Hope you're recovering well from the surgery. From what I could gather, there are no drug interactions listed between Norco (acetaminophen + hydrocodone) and Motrin (ibuprofen). So I don't see why it wouldn't be ok to take them both together if that's what you need to do in order to achieve adequate pain relief. Also as long as it's the same doctor who prescribed both, I think that he/she would've informed you up front of any possible risks involved with doing so if there really were serious consequences to be had. I hope this helps!

I'm taking Norco 10/325 for a hip replacement but I have a bad toothache so should I take Tylenol or ibuprofen for the pain until I can get to the dentist next week? ## Hello, Diane! How are you? Norco actually contains 2 active ingredients, Hydrocodone which is a narcotic, and Acetaminophen, which is the pharmaceutical name for Tylenol. Thus, it would not be safe to double up on it. Additionally, the Norco itself should actually help, it is commonly prescribed for toothaches. The FDA warns that it carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth, and constipation. When will you be seeing your dentist?

Does 800mg ibuprofen help the two tablets of acetaminophen/codeine 30-300 work better to relieve pain? As well as hydrocodone 7.5-325? ## No, while Acetaminophen and Ibuprofen can augment how well an opiate works for some people, it is not going to make it equivalent to Hydrocodone. The FDA warns that this medication carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth, and constipation. It would also be best not to take anything else, without your doctor's approval. Are they aware that you are taking two tablets?
