Hello! My name is Mark and I've had heart surgery a week and a half ago. Now, I have norco 10/325 and have been taking them for years. However, my doctors at the hospital had me stop taking norco while inpatient, and have prescribed me morphine 30 er along with tramadol 100mg. A morphine at waking and when going to sleep, and three tramadol doses between. Can I swap the tramadol for my norco? I did so today and haven't felt well. Chills, cold sweats and light fever, but those are all common with heart surgery as it's a rough battle to fight off pneumonia while your lungs heal. So... Instead of taking a norco for my last dose I went back to tramadol to see if it'll work. Am I safe? Can I take morphine and norco? Help please! ## Legitimate people with chronic pain issues a...

I've been taking Synthroid 112 mcg for six months following a total thyroidectomy and I experience confusion, hard time concentrating, night sweats, problems walking (like a drunken sailor), general "spaced out" feeling, and awful depression. I think the dose is wrong, but doctor just looks at TSH numbers (last TSH was 2..53 and T4 was 1.6) and says everything is OK. It is not! I don't know what to do... ## Don't let any dr tell you what your body needs - figure it out yourself. I have had a thyroid condition since i was 8 years old (going on 42) and over the years many dr's have given their opinions about what to do, try this or that and come back in 6 months! Find a thyroid medication and try them out as well as the dosage. If you feel sick, well then stop and ...

white oblong tablet. On one side there is an O, a space, then 15. Found in daughter's gym bag. ## Hi Patti, The closest match I can find is Trazodone HCl (150 mg). It is a small, white, oval pill with the imprint APO T150 on the front and 50 50 50 on the back. It looks like a pill that could be easily smudged, so maybe some of the imprints wore off. I would definitely ask your daughter, hopefully she will be honest with you. Trazodone is indicated for: Clinical depression with or without anxiety. Insomnia, Fibromyalgia, to aid in sleeping. Control of nightmares or other sleep disturbances. You can learn more about this drug on the page for Trazodone Details Please post back if you have any more questions!

I have been on depakote for about a month now. I feel worse now than I did when I wasn't taking it. I am so spaced out it's not even safe for me to drive. Is this what I have to look forward to while on this med? ## Hi, Deb! Sorry about the problem that you're having. Depakote can cause those types of side effects, but they should start to ease off soon. It generally takes about 4 to 6 weeks for your body to get used to a medication and the side effects to start tapering off. Learn more Depakote details here. If they don't, or if they get worse, you should consult your doctor as it may not be the right medication for you, or the dose may be too high. Is your doctor monitoring you regularly?

Hi I started taking restoril a few months back for insomnia after I was having adverse reactions (sleep walking, cooking, and redosing with out knowing it) and so restoril is amazing for putting me to sleep and keeping me asleep. But my problem is I'm turning 21 tomorrow and my brothers and my fiancé are throwing a party for me which I know we are going to be having a few alcoholic beverages and what not, so my question is if I took my normal 30mg dose of restoril tonight, could I have a few drinks tomorrow? Any feedback would be much appreciated, thank you ## Hello, Kyle! How are you? Happy birthday!! What was causing the adverse reactions? And no, it would be best not to mix this medication with alcohol, since that can worsen the side effects. Can you possibly skip it for a f...

I just had eye surgery and was given Norco (4x a day) and Motrin (3x a day) to take for pain, can I take them at the same time or do I need to space them out? ## Hi Chris, Hope you're recovering well from the surgery. From what I could gather, there are no drug interactions listed between Norco (acetaminophen + hydrocodone) and Motrin (ibuprofen). So I don't see why it wouldn't be ok to take them both together if that's what you need to do in order to achieve adequate pain relief. Also as long as it's the same doctor who prescribed both, I think that he/she would've informed you up front of any possible risks involved with doing so if there really were serious consequences to be had. I hope this helps!

I was on Prozac (fluoxetine) for about 8-9 years starting when I was about 14 years old. I'm 23 now and for about the last two-three years I started getting weird side effects and feelings that I never had before. I would feel spaced out, disoriented, out of body, dizzy, angry, light/visual disturbances and really wishhy washy, like bi polar feelings and suicidal feelings. I had never had these ever before. I was on the Prozac for severe anxiety and panic attacks. I never had depression or bi polar feeling ever in my life. And I always would get dizzy spells and just feel SOOO spaced out and out of body literally so freaking weird. So when these symptoms started happening I went to numerous docs and they all found nothing wrong physically. Blood tests, check up all normal. So I deci...

I take Percocet and Flexeril and was told by the doctor to wait a couple of hours before I take one or the other. What are the possible side effects, positive and negative? ## More than likely he advise to space them apart because they can both cause central nervous system depression. This can cause your breathing to slow and be shallower, a slower heart rate and etc. Using them both together can also worsen some other side effects, that they both can cause, such as drowsiness, dizziness and nausea. He is probably trying to minimize this for you. If you use them as he instructed you to, you may be able to get better pain control. Many doctors prescribe a muscle relaxant, like Flexeril, along with other pain management medications. Reducing the tenseness in the muscles can help lessen th...

Dr gave me Vimpac and said I was having seizures but I have never had one. Been on it for 6 months and now I have headaches, a rash on the side of my neck, balance is off and vision is blurry. I also have trouble sleeping at night but also trouble keeping myself awake during the day. I'm more depressed and my anger has stepped up times 20. What should i do cause the dr won't do anything right now. & no I have not had any blood work since I have been on the drug. 6 months going on 7. ## There are different types of seizures, so sometimes people don't realize that they are experiencing a seizure. My 11 year old daughter was prescribed chewable Augmentin twice a day for strep throat. Since it upsets her stomach, I can't give her one before school. Can I give her 1 at 3 pm and the other before bed at 9 pm? ## No, that wouldn't a good idea. Since it's an antibiotic, the intent is to keep it regularly spaced out, to keep the levels up in her body long enough for the bacteria to be eradicated. Thus, you'd be leaving too long of a gap, between the 9pm one and the 3pm one going round the clock. As to the nausea, has she tried taking it with food? Other side effects may include non-allergic skin rash and diarrhea. ## a doctor prescribed Augmentin 625mg for my 10year old boy who had a congested chest and throat infection. He is 39kg.He has a history of asthma though he see...

Can Motrin 800 be taken an hour after the first one is taken. My mom is 82 and wants to take them 2 one one hour and the other an hour later ## Hello, Sharon! How is your mom? No, Motrin contains the active ingredient Ibuprofen, which is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory and they need to be spaced about 8 hours apart, unless her doctor directs otherwise. The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, increased risk of bleeding and stomach irritation. Is there anything else I can help with?

yaking lamotrigine for bi-polar disorder, can i take tramaol safely? Can anyone answer tis for me? ## Please talk to a doctor or pharmacist about possible interactions and side effects. Second hand information on blogs is not always good to go by. Good luck! I am on limotrigine as well, I take t4 for chronic pain but not with the limotrigine. I space them out by two or more hours to prevent liver damage. ## The FDA warns that taking them together might increase the severity of side effects you experience, such as nausea, drowsiness, dizziness, sedation, and confusion. But you should only take them both, if your doctor has approved. What dosage have you been prescribed of them both?
