The half life of Methadone can be up to 59 hours, so if you multiply it by 2 (118 hours) and then divide that by 24 (hours in a day) you end up with approx 5 days. How did it go for you?

With that said, I don't think you'll have to be overly concerned about having it out of your system in 8 days time. As far as detoxing goes, in my opinion, fruits and veggies are the answer. Been clean from opiates, had a relapse, went to a methadone clinic but still on of course. If left up to them I would be forever with the money they're making in a private facility. So i've brought myself down to 10mg over period of time. But my question is how long does it stay in your system? That said, I do have my doubts that it will go undetected in any test except a blood test. If you have a valid prescription for Methadone you should be fine though. I took methadone for 10 yrs for pain at a methadone clinic because it was cheaper than dr. and I had no insurance. I HAVE to have pain meds due to spinal cord injury.
