What is the proper way to stop taking Prazosin? Can you just stop cold turkey? What are the side effects of quitting this drug? ## Why were you taking it? If it was to treat high blood pressure, or a cardiac condition, then it might not be safe for you to stop taking it, since the FDA warns that stopping it could cause dangerously elevated levels to your blood pressure, and heart rate. I love one girl but it is one sided, because of that I having lots of tension. Recently my blood pressure went too high, it was 190/130. Doctors tried Clinidipine 10 mg for few days but its not coming down from 150/120. So now they gave Losar H 10mg. Is it good or else which medicine should I take. I am going through very bad phase. ## Clonodine works for me, it is blood pressure medication but i used it for withdrawl symptoms of coming off H, but i quite liked it. it took away my chest heavyness and racing heart and sweating. I have also used Prazosin (again, for a different medical condition, PTSD) -HOWEVER! I'm getting concerned about my husband. He has been put on Effexor XR 75 mg, together with Prazosin, and Clonazepam 1 mg, for depression and anxiet and PTSD. When he feels more anxious he will take another Clonazepam, or a half mg of it. I realize his dosages aren't high on these medications but he is also extremely sensitive to meds, so for him this may well be a lot. Lately he has been drinking, after being completely off the alcohol for quite a few years. He will start drinking wine after work, and will drink 3 or more 16 oz glasses. Then he will take another 1.5 of clonazepam some nights, or else 2 Tylenol PM's and go to sleep.
