Here is the deal. I have a herniated disc and degenerative disc disease. I have had physical therapy, chiropractor and epidural steroid injections. I am a Kaiser patient. I am taking Morphine ER 15 mg 4 times a day with percocet 5 mg 3 times a day for breakthrough. I ran out of meds early last month because i went camping and lost the bottle that had a weeks worth of meds inside. I don't take the entire bottle with me when I travel, just what I need while I'm gone. I did not tell my doctor that I lost the meds. My doctor gave me a script that was dated for 6/25 (tomorrow). Last week I was out of town for our annual week long vacation. While I was there (in the same state, but 3 hours from home) I went to an urgent care with my empty script bottles and the urgent care doctor gave...

I have spent so much time trying to get my Opana 20mg er and 10 mg ir filled. I had to start sending my scripts to Optum Rx by mail to have them filled. Honestly I've never seen anything like it. I didn't even have this much trouble getting Oxycotin and Oxycodone filled. My insurance co didn't want to pay for my oxycodone anymore so they suggested I change to Opana. The first couple of months it was ok but then I don't know what happened but when I said I couldn't get them filled anywhere I meant it. I went 3 weeks without medication before I received my first order back through the mail order company. I'm trying to change to another medication that I can get locally that my insurance will cover. My question is which medication works better, Opana or Oxycontin an...

Hi all. I have intractable pelvic RSD, peripheral neuropathy, lumbar facet spondylosis. I live in California and am about to have to change insurances at the end of this month. The new insurance has ridiculously high Rx prices. I go to a PM for all my pain meds, but my primary dr has in the past managed them for me. My question is if anyone knows if I get an Rx for the 60mg Oxycontin twice a day like usual from my PM and then my primary to write a script for 40mg 3 times a day and then I can go to 2 totally different pharmacies and fill one with my insurance and the other at another pharmacy and pay with cash, will that flag the DEA and cause my PM to get a notification of "Doctor shopping"? I am just trying to have enough meds to get me through an extra month until my husbands ...

I have been going to a suboxone doc for 8 months now every month he cuts me to lower and lower dosages well this month i was cut to just 4mg a day havnt been doing to well i also have cronic back pain i started calling different doc around to switch doc for one that will prescribe suboxone for pain as well as detox so i set an appointment with one told them everything about my history they said they were only a detox and can only give suboxone for 2 weeks and thats it. Well long story short they referred me to get an mri for my back pain and gave me a script for suboxone for 2 weeks. They also looked at my pharmacies history to make sure that i have been taking them too well 2 day later i go to my suboxone doc for suboxone for addiction to opiate i go to him everuthing is fine he writes...

I have been on suboxone for 6 months due to the decision to get off percocets. In the last 5 days I have had 2 major surgeries but my sub script doesnt expire till tues and my sub doctor told me to use the pain meds the surgeons gave me then the day before the operation he changed his mind. I am in extreme pain. In Massachusetts do u think I can fill the percs on tuesday? I am bleeding and in terribke pain ## I think I might be a bit confused, Michelle. I'm assuming the Dr prescribing the Suboxone is a pain management specialist. Is that correct? And the Suboxone is prescribed to ease your dependence on Percocet, correct? And you have a legit written prescription from the Suboxone Dr, but the Suboxone Dr has told you NOT to fill his/her script and to only take what your surgeon pres...

I moved from fort lauderdale to Naples fl and I have been on my roxy 30's for 4 years now. I'm and injured vet and have been in four horrible car accidents now to where I can't get out of bed without all my meds. So for the past 4 months I have to drive 5 hours just to get my meds filled. I don't have money like that and I have a two year old that can't stand the drive and she's right, it's not fair to her either. Are there any Drs reading this or anyone that may be able to help? I have all records. MRI's, cat scans, treatments. I don't know how much more I can do and if not for me help me raise my daughter.

My pain specialist prescribes Hydrocodone 7.5/325, 90 pills per month. He gives me scripts that are post dated, 3 months at a time. My refill date is the 1st of every month. My question is this... the script is a 30 day supply and since July has 31 days in it, can I get them refilled on July 31st instead of waiting until August 1st? Hope this makes sense. Thanks for any help to my question.... ## Hello, Clatono! How are you? Yes, you should be able to get it filled on the 31st. Ultimately, it's up to your pharmacy, but there shouldn't be any problem. The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Is there anything else I can help...

I love the physician I am seeing, but he has move his office a now I drive about an hour and a half to see him. my regular pharmacy which is right across the street from where I live is now refusing to fill my prescriptions. Some people drive hours to see reputable specialist, which these days are not easy to find these days, can someone explain to me what the problem is please and thank you? ## Hello, Dianne! How are you? I'm sorry about the problem that you're having. There is a limit on how much of any controlled substance a pharmacy can order in and stock each month, it's based on the size of the pharmacy and their customer base. It used to be that this limit was rarely enforced, so when they ran out of any certain medication, they could just order more in…however,...

Okay, so I have a prescription that is exactly 1 month old tomorrow. It is for seven Vyvanse 50 mg and in 2 days I will be getting my normal monthly script for 60 mg Vyvanse. Can I fill the 50 mg for 7 days today without having a problem filling my original script of 60 mg for 30 days? ## Most likely not, it could be seen as suspicious, essentially you'd be going down in your dose, then suddenly back up. The FDA warns that his medication is a controlled substance that carries the risk of being habit forming, it may also cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, irritability, and weight loss. Why were you prescribed two different dosages? Are they from the same doctor?

I am prescribed 60 of the 20mg Adderall IR a month, and last time I saw my prescriber, he gave me three written prescriptions for 60 of the 20mg, all of them say "earliest fill date: March 9, 2017". Can I fill them all at once? I already filled one of the three, covered by insurance, on the 9th. Can I fill the other two whenever I want if I paid cash? The reason I'm asking is I've never seen the three scripts all have the same date in which they can be filled (they used to say "fill 4/9/17" and "fill 5/9/2017", for example). Also I'm going on a vacation with my family next week so I'll need to have a vacation override anyway. I'm in WA state. ## Jade, No, there are no longer prescription overrides on controlled schedule narcotics of the CII ty...

I had a MI on Jan 24th of 2016 and had a DES inserted. I have been on plavix for 9 months and the side effects are destroying my life. I am still taking aspirin. But have stopped plavix. It's been 2 days. I want to use Nattokinase instead of plavix. Has anyone used this and should I use it with aspirin or stop the aspirin and just take the NATTOKINASE? I can hardly function on plavix as it makes me feel very weak causes confusion. Everything goes bad when I take it. I told my cardiologist it was making feel like I wanted to die and thought it was other scripts I was on which I no longer take. BP is perfect and diet improved. Plavix and aspirin is all I am on and when I stop taking the plavix I feel normal again. When I try to take it again out of fear of dying from clot forming on m...

I have been on pain meds since 2005 for tendinosis, and more recently for DDD and a herniated L5 to S1. I have been taking six Norco 10's a day since 2008, and usually had no problems getting my scripts filled until recently. It seems pharmacies are getting scared of these new laws. I was using Walmart for several months until today they said they weren't taking any scripts from my doctor because of "lack of communication and because he writes to many scripts for pain meds". Yes, he writes many scripts for narcotics because he's a pain specialist! And I'm sure if he ran a clinic for diabetics he would write lots of scripts for diabetes! I swear, this narcotics scare is driving people nuts! Anyway, I'm so sick of all this craziness. I just want a pharmacy that...

Need to know if my combat surgeon can write 3 refills on Norco 10MG? It's intrusive to ask each month. Also, he is stone deaf. How will the pharmacy verify. He got rid of his phone. We text and email. ## Hello, CajunConnie! How are you? As of this time, no. The regulations were just tightened by the DEA, since this medication is so frequently abused. They've placed it in a more restrictive category, so patients can no longer have refills on it. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. I live in Bradenton FL and I have been going to the local methadone clinic here for almost 2yrs now and I'm OVER IT!!! Yesterday I was forced to miss my best friends funeral in GO solely because this clinic would not give me travel doses only guest dosing 80 mile round trip from where I wld be at. I am on medicaid and it doesn't cover out of state so we were going to have to pay $110 for both my husband and I for only 2 days!!!! On top of that they wouldn't even accept credit card so I was unable to go. I need to find a doctor locally who would be willing to write me a script of methadone monthly and aide me in tapering off my dose. I was on 177 mg a day and started tapering after this last Christmas 6 months ago. I am now at 66 mg and counting. (This was one of the reasons ...

I have a question I missed my Dr's appointment and made another one unfortunently I am going to be out of my med (oxycodone) So she wrote out a script for 5 days. When I go back to get the rest of the month worth will my insurance cover it? I have mass health. They are cutting me down as I asked them to in hopex to me getting off of them soon,I just didn't know if the insurance would cover two scripts in a month period even though it's only going to be for five days until I can go back to get the rest. ## Re: "how early can you fill oxycodone pills" To ensure an accurate answer, it'd probably be best to consult the specific pharmacy location that's filling your prescription. According to the CDC.gov, state laws surrounding refills may vary. They note that in ...

I've been working to reduce my reliance on pain medications with my doctor's help. I've been able to come down from 200mg morphine sulfate to 15mg MS Contin. The doctor said he was happy where I was but I wanted to try and go further. He wrote a script for 10mg Kadian since a lesser dose of MS Contin wasn't available. Unfortunately, my doc's son died suddenly and he's away. I cannot find a pharmacy that is able to fill this prescription. I live in a metro area. He had said if I had trouble filling it thinking my insurance might not cover it to call him and he'd write the script for my old dosage of MS Contin. He's not available and will be out approx. 2 months. He came in to write this month's scripts for his patients but his staff neglected to mentio...

Canada has had most of the oxymoron on back order for several months now. Our scripts get filled but they replaced them with what I consider second rate medicine. Lately I have been fortunate to receive my script with what I have been prescribed ..... But in Canada very few medical plans will cover any kind of opiate in the oxy family. ## Hello, Andolian! How are you? I am very sorry about the problems that you're having. What type of issues did you have with the ones you consider second rate? This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. So I recently moved here to South Florida (Cutler Bay to be exact) from Nevada and I have been taking 60 10 mg Vicodin a month for 7 years with no need for increase for pain from endometriosis. I brought my records and prescription bottles with me when I moved thinking I would have no problems transferring to a new long term Dr. who could fill my scripts. NO SUCH LUCK. Every Dr. I have gone to tries to fill me bogus Tramadol and tells me that there is no reason I should be taking Vicodin. They are making me feel like a drug seeker and absolutely refuse to give me my script.
