I have a second degree burn and, although it doesnt hurt anymore my skin is pulled tight and is very dry. What are the side effects of Furosemide? ## As with many diuretics, Furosemide can cause dehydration and electrolyte imbalance, including loss of potassium, calcium, sodium, and magnesium. It is especially important to prevent potassium loss. Excessive use of Furosemide will most likely lead to a metabolic alkalosis due to hypochloremia and hypokalemia. It should be used with caution in horses with liver problems or electrolyte abnormalities. Overdose may lead to dehydration, change in drinking patterns and urination, seizures, GI problems, kidney damage, lethargy, collapse, and coma. I take furosomide and after wards I feel exhausted. Do I need to be taking potchloride with it for my potassium. ## Too much potassium is just as dangerous as not enough, so you shouldn't add it, unless it's been shown that you're low in it, through a blood test. Learn more Furosemide details here. Furosemide is a loop diuretic that removes fluid from the body, so there are several reasons you may experience fatigue, other than being low in potassium. One reason may be just a normal side effect of the medication, a second possibility is that it is making you dehydrated. How much fluid do you take in each day? Whenever you're on a diuretic, unless your doctor instructs you otherwise, you should always make sure to drink at least 64oz.
