Butrans 10 Mg

I read the reviews and I question if they were written by the manufacturer. I was on Butrans. Started on 10 mg and was eventually switched to 20 mg. When I was switched to 20, at least noticed it did something. I was miserable. I had been on hydrocodone and Opana and I was switched to Butrans by pain management dr. I kept begging to be switched back to anything I had been on because Butrans just didn't cut into the pain. I was not given anything for breakthrough pain (I have switched doctors since). Anyway, it was very mild and had serious side effect of depression and I believe some weight gain. Would not recommend it to anyone in chronic severe pain. Judging from your description it does sound to me like your experiencing what may be considered withdrawal symptoms (i.e. various physical and mental challenges such as restlessness, anxiety, mood changes, joint pain, etc.. just to name a few). I personally haven't heard of anyone going through withdrawals off of Opana that's only been used on two occasions, however, depending on how long you've been on Butrans for and whether or not you're still taking it, my thoughts are that some symptoms might also be related to side effects as well. Im having an awful time with migraines. No triptans work so I'm on narcotics for chronic pain. Currently taking hydrocodone 10/325 twice a day but its not helping much anymore. Pain mgnmt dr prescribed Butrans 5mg patch. Its not covered by my insurance so I wanted to know if its better for pain than the current hydro I'm on before spending $170 on a mths supply. I started Butrans 10 mg last Friday. On the following Monday I started to feel dizzy and nausous. Then by Thursday I was dizzy nausous and felt like I was having a hard time breathing. Took the patch off and did not put another one on. I am still feeling dizzy and nausous but I can breathe now!! How long will the dizziness and sick feeling last. I was only on it a week!! ## Hello, Debi! How are you doing? Are you feeling any better? It may take a few days, before the side effects completely wear off and you start to feel more normal. Due to the breathing issue, you most likely did the right thing by taking it off, because it can cause respiratory depression which has the potential of being dangerous. Have you contacted your doctor? You should check with them to be sure that all is well.

I have been on butrans 10mcg/hour equizilnet to 90mg of morphine or other a day .I would like to change to roxicodone 30 mg because I work out in the heat and the butrans release to quickly and end up being out by the 7 day .but don't know how to go about asking my dr. Any suggestions ? Please help ## My advice would be to just discuss the issue with your doctor, without asking for any specific medication. Trying to get a specific medication tends to give the impression that you are drug seeking, however, there is no harm in telling your doctor of the problem. I was recently prescribed Butrans patches, 10 mg. and they are to remain on for 7 days at a time. What no one told me, and this is important, as HOT baths help my pain, when patches and pills don't quite do it, is that a hot bath can cause the patch to release more medicine than is safe or intended, and can result in death. I take the Norco 10s 3x day instead of 4, because the Butrans is supposed to help fill in. I do not want to risk my life for pain control, but pain is the one thing I can't control by myself. What would be a good solution to that patch? I wore one for 7 days before I found out how dangerous it is. I need my hot baths, so now what can I do? I've been taking 30mg of Methadone for a few months. I've had 3 severe back surgeries and started taking the Methadone until I could get into pain management. I had a medial nerve block yesterday and I also only took 10mgs of Methadone yesterday, too. The pain Dr. wrote me the Butrans 5mcg/hr patch. It's Buprenorphine, i suppose like Subutex without Naloxone. I'm in a lot of pain today, but scared that if I apply the patch i will go into withdrawal. Hi, last year in December I overdosed on 100 50mg capsules of tramadol, this was intensional but I was found and I was rushed to the hospital on a blue light, one route I had three seizures and the emergency team was unsure if I would survive, the reason I tried to take my life was I had been in a large amount of pain due to spinal stenosis, for the pain I was taking tramadol 2 x 50mg 4 x a day, 5 ml of oramorph 4 times a day, 2 x co codamol 500/30 4 x a day 50 mg Amitriptaline once a day and I had 10 mg butrans patches, even though I was on this amount of meds I was still in considerable amount of pain and I had enough. I need to find a kind pain management doc in San Antonio, TX that will take medicaid Amerigroup. I'm currently seeing Dr. Kanishka Monis. He is a nice young man BUT, his staff and their way of handling patients is terrible. I was changed from Butrans 10 patches with 3 8mg suboxone a day to 20 mgs of methadone, after a week of hell I called to see if I could up the dose a little. No. I had to see him. But I couldn't get another appointment for 10 days. They have NO protocol for adjusting dosages in patients that are not at a therapeutic level of medication. I was prescribed fentanyl patches in May of 2010. I never opened them, and want to know if they would still be good. ## What's the expiration date on them? Fentanyl is a narcotic and it doesn't become dangerous if it is old or expired, but it can lose effectiveness and since the patches are made with a type of gel, it might have started to solidify a little, which means you would absorb less of the medication. I've been sick & haven't taken my meds right. If I take .5mg of klonopin in the morning how do I know it's going to be there on my test so my Dr can see that I'm taking it?
