Buspar Weight Gain

Today I went to the dr. She switched my Effexor and Buspar to Elavil. I have never taken this medication before. Its 25mg x 2 daily. I'm very interested in this medicine because I have a very hard time gaining weight and I've read blogs on yes it can cause weight gain. I'm also interested in how tired and sleepy it will make me. That's one negative effect I don't want. I'm more interested in energy and good mood lift... I was not told the reason I went freaking bald was these pills. My daughter and I are both balding. hell,no I am 4 days off seroquel, welbutrin xl, and buspar, all of which cause hair loss. the doctor took me off 250 seroquel and told me that I would only gain weight on the higher amount. put me on 100 and I gained 20 pounds. mind you I had gastric bypass and eat basically grapes and dang apples. I am itching like crazy and digging like I have something. Checking to see if I can take Contrave along with Buspar, Effexor, Metoprolol and Quinapril? I have put on weight and would like to try Contrave if there are no side effects with the above medications. ## Hello, Jeanne! How are you? No, according to FDA Contrave should not be taken with Buspar, since it can increase the risk of your experiencing seizures, and not with the Quinapril, because it can increase the risk of negative effects on your liver/liver damage. However, if you want to lose weight, there are other options you can discuss with your doctor. Your weight gain could be due to the Effexor, and/or Metoprolol, so it might be solved by simply changing medications. I need a psychiatrist near Athens Georgia or Gainesville Georgia that will prescribe ativan or klonpin for servere aniexty and panic attacks and I need the phone numbers for them please THANKYOU VERY MUCH ## Instead of those medicines try Buspar it worked to prevent the panic attacks in the first place for me for 4 years. It is not addictive like Klonopin either. Any doctor should be willing to prescribe to you. I am a big guy and take 30mg twice a day. It is generic so cheap too.
