My dr prescribes 3 a day and my insurance will only pay for 2 a day. I cannot afford to pay for the rest of the medication ## Hello, Patsy! How are you? I'm sorry about the problem you're having. There are various doses available, as well as time released formulations, so your doctor may be able to switch you to one of those, which may be covered by your insurance. I have been on bupropion SR 100mg tablets twice daily for several years and am pleased with the results. This week my pharmacy filled my 3 month rx with bupropion ER (from 2 different manufacturers, slight color variation) with no mention of the switch other than explaining the color difference. Can I continue to take the ER twice a day? Contact my Dr.? Question the pharmacist? I see from previous posts that the prescribed dosing is usually different for SR & ER. Thanks ## I am not sure where you read that, but there is no difference between the SR and ER, they both just designate it as being a time released formulation of the medication, so the dosage would remain the same. You may also see other abbreviations used for it, such as CR, CD, XR and etc. but they all mean the same thin...

I've been taking Bupropion SR 150 mg made by Sandoz - successfully. My mail order Rx service arbitrarily changed me to one made by Anchin. I feel I'm spiraling down. can there be that much difference in brands? ## Hi KayS, I'm sorry to hear that the mail order Rx service changed your prescription without notice. I've heard of that happening to many others on the site, I can only imagine the frustration. If there is any difference between the pills, it would most likely just be the "inactive" ingredients that were used. That may or may not cause any issues- but if it does you will definitely want to talk to the Mail order service and a let them know what has happened. You can learn more about this drug on the page for Bupropion Details I hope my reply is helpful, ...

Hello I was just prescribed 100 mg of bupropion sr twice a day. It's a blue pill that says E410. I was wondering if this pill causes weight gain? ## Hi Ali, How are you? Contrary to what you might be experiencing, the drug monograph for Bupropion only lists "weight loss" as a general side effect, and nothing to do with weight gain in that regard. However digging a little deeper I did notice other individuals post their concerns about having problems with gaining extra weight while they were taking Bupropion. With that said, part of me does wonder if taking this medication may have resulted in certain changes in behavioral/emotional patterns when it comes to eating more or less food throughout the day. The ironic part is that it also lists "loss of appetite" as a pote...

Was on Bupropion SR 150 MG once a day. refill says Bupropion HCL XL 150 MG Tablet once a day. used for Depression in 14 year old female? ## They are the same, the SR and XL both just designate it as being a time released formulation of the medication. There are just several different abbreviations for it used by manufacturers and pharmacies. Learn more Bupropion details here. Is there anything else I can help with? ## I take bupropion xl and have sent back the sr tablets because they dont last through the evening. A druggist told me I would have to take two sr tabs a day. Can you safely dissolve Bupropion SR 150 MG? The tablet is hard to swallow. ## Hello, Ann! How are you? No, you cannot. The SR designates it as a time released mediation, so dissolving it may result in your getting to much of the medication, at once, which could cause an overdose. The best thing to do would be to speak to your medical provider about prescribing the regular release tablets, so you can cut or break them, if needed. The FDA lists the typical side effects of this medication as possibly including nausea, dizziness, dry mouth, nervousness and insomnia. Is there anything else I can help with?

I'm getting my perscription in the morning. i am already an agrivated, agressive person. i'm afraid of this getting worse. any advice? ## Have you started taking it, yet? It may not worsen those traits in your, it may actually help them improve, since it is an antidepressant. Those paradoxical effects don't happen to everyone that takes it. Learn more Bupropion details here. Are you experiencing any side effects? ## I can only speak from my own experience and tell you that it did not happen to me. I am extraordinarily aggressive and sharp with people. It may have leveled me out, paradoxically. ## Hi Julie, I am in the same boat. I picked up my script yesterday and after googling it to death decided I was going to start it. MMD and Anxiety for 21 yrs, plus over weight and a s...

Please if anyone could give me any input I would Greatly appreciate it! ## I, too, felt more anxious when first starting. I've been on now for almost 6 weeks and I don't know how I'd survive without it! Of course, it can affect people differently. Keep taking as directed and give it a little time. If it doesn't get better, there are lots of meds out there, and you should try another. What is the difference between bupropion hcl xl and buproprion xl ## This type of thing often confuses people and I understand why. However, there is no difference. They are both the same medication, the hcl just hasn't been listed on both of them. It stands for hydrochloride and designates the specific chemical salt that the medication is derived from, but it doesn't have to be included on a prescription or medication label. I hope this clears it up for you! You can learn more Bupropion details here. Is there anything else I can help with? ## What is the difference in Bupropion HCL and the generic wellbutrin SR ## You are wrong about that. They are not the same. Another problem with generic not feeling my normal self as with Watson mfg. After two weeks I'm irritable moody cry easily and problems sleeping...don't dare to be sociable. Same problems as the generic Sunco... Why aren't these regulated better? This is my life. ## Hello, Laura! How are you? Under the Hatch-Waxman Act of 1984, generics are allowed to differ from the name brand, in the amount of the active ingredient, by as much as plus or minus 20%. However, they do not have to measure against each other, only against the name brand. This was done to help bring generics to market faster, in hopes of keeping prices lower. The FDA considers this an acceptable therapeutic window and, for most people, it doesn't cause a problem. But some people are sensitive to medications ...

I started on a course of Bup. XL of 150 mg for the first week and then double that the second week. Mornings which had been so difficult for me were great, but when I switched to the 300, I had terrible insomnia, and trouble reading. So the doctor switched me to Bup. SR 200 mg, and I am back to exhausted again. I have plenty of the XL left and am considering switching back and maybe cutting the second pill in half. Any recommendations or experience? ## The first thing that needs to be cleared up for you is that the XL and SR mean the same thing, there is no difference in those. They are both just abbreviations that designate those ones are being time released. If you were doing so well on the 150mg dosage, why did he want you to keep going up? It would really make more sense to stay at ...

round pill pink 555 ## I was just switched from Bupropion SR 150 3x a day to Buprobion ER 200 2x a day. But the pharmacy label on the new bottle says Buproprion HCL ER 200 and below that generic for Bupropion HCL SR 200 but it's only twice a day. I thought only the brand (XL) was still the only 2x a day version. So now I'm totally confused about the difference between SR, ER, and XL. I'd been feeling worse, but the last 3x a day was for 150. So seems like now my dosage has been reduced? Does this make sense. (My doctor also has a pharmacy degree, and gets *very* annoyed at being questioned about my medicines.) I feel so dumb, but I just can't figure this out. Could someone here please straightened me out--unconfuse me? Thanks very much! ## Hello, Meg! How are you doing? ...

Is it safe to take bupropion SR and hydroxizine pamoate at the same time for anxiety and depression? ## Hello, Sherry! How are you? I didn't find any problems or interactions listed between these two medications, but it's always best to double check such information to be safe. As listed by the FDA, Bupropion may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, dry mouth and drowsiness. Hydroxyzine may cause side effects including dizziness, drowsiness, sedation and dry mouth. Is there anything else I can help with? ## I read somewhere in a pharmacology textbook that using both can possibly increase your risk of seizure with bupropion. Though your dose for bupropion needs to be 200mg or more and you would need to take your hydroxyzine at the same time for the seizure risk to be he...

I have been on Bupropion 150mg XL for years and am now switching to 75mg SR but cutting the 150mg SR pill (MU12) in half per my doctor's directions. Is it safe to cut the pill and take it on a daily basis? The official Mylan site says not to, but that was my doctor's directions. Would like to get other opinions before I start. ## Hello, Gary! How are you? Well, only your doctor can speak to their own rationale, but my best guess would be that since you've already been taking the higher dosage, they don't see much risk of your overdosing by cutting this tablet. Unless you're taking the whole tablet, you won't get the full 150mgs. The FDA lists the typical side effects of this medication as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, insomnia and nervousness. H...

IMy doctor switch from 75 mg of ic bupropion hcl to 150mg of ic bupropion sr I dont want to gain weight.People tell me wich is better. ## The only difference here is the dosage and the fact that the new one he prescribed for you is a sustained release tablet, which means you take one tablet a day and it is slowly released, rather than releasing all of the medication at once. The side effects, however, remain the same: nausea, drowsiness, dry mouth and headache. If you weren't gaining weight on it, then there isn't much chance that the new dosage is going to have that effect on you, either. Are there any comments or questions? ## I WOULD LIKE THE SIDR AFFECTS OF BUPROPION 150MGSR TAB WATTS
