Have had a lump removed above the right breast last week. Path reports say that the margins were clear and no lymph node involvement. I will see the surgeon and oncologist next week. I also have a blood disease called essential Thrombocythemia, (body makes too many platelets) so that complicates things for my treatment. The good thing is that my hematologist of 17 years is also my oncologist. I know from advice that chemo is for safety after all is said and done, but would like some advice on what is really bad news.

I had incurred stage 2 breast cancer because of taking Femhrt!! I would like to know what recourse I have??? ## I was diagnosed with stage 1-2 triple negative breast cancer and the first thing my doctor told me was to stop the Femhrt. I would like to know if I have any recourse? ## I am 51. I took the pill (Loestrin) to regulate my periods during perimenopause, and now that I'm thru it my doctor has put me on Femhrt. My doctor (as well as others I solicited advice from) ALL insisted that the benefits of Femhrt far outway the risks. I am so scared about the risks though. My symtpoms are things I can live with, but I am taking the Femhrt now (have for about 6 months) because my doctor i so insistant about its benefits. I am very interested in your input on this matter. God bless you. ...

I know someone with stage 4 breast cancer. It has spread to her liver, she has a tumor on her breast bone, etc. How has H-86 worked against this aggressive stage of cancer? ## Hi Michelle, From what I understand, there are no real reports of H-86 being a legitimate cancer drug. There are less than a handful of vague articles that briefly state it's use for such treatments. One other user on here found information claiming it to be a type of fermented wheat germ; however I personally have yet to come across any specific details linking them to one another. If anyone else out there has more information on this H-86 substance, please do share! On a side note, I would like to add that there are several (yes, several) other types of natural cancer killers out there if you do the research...

Does anyone know of someone being diagnosed with breast cancer while on Humira? ## HI, Audrey! According to an article that was published by the Journal of the American Medical Association, both Humira and Remicade can increase the risk of cancer. It's because they are anti-TNF agents and they said that patients taking one had a three-fold increased risk of developing cancer. Learn more Humira details here. Of course the issue is knowing whether or not the person would have developed cancer anyway, or if it was due to the medication. How long were you on it? ## 2 years and 2 months ## I was on Humira 2 years and 2 months. ## I was on humira for about 1 year and dx with dcis last Sept. on routine mammogram. Also dx with sarcoidoisis at same time. Had double mastectomy and found mult....

As a breast cancer patient, I would like information on Xeloda before administration. ## Xeloda (Capecitabine) is used in combination with other medications to treat breast cancer that has come back after treatment with other medications. It is also used alone to treat breast cancer that has not improved after treatment with other medications. Capecitabine is also used to treat colon or rectal cancer (cancer that begins in the large intestine) that has gotten worse or spread to other parts of the body. It is also used to prevent colon cancer from spreading in people who have had surgery to remove the tumor. Capecitabine is in a class of medications called antimetabolites. It works by stopping or slowing the growth of cancer cells. Capecitabine comes as a tablet to take by mouth. It is u...

Fellow breast cancer survivors beware of Tamoxifen! I have just found out that Tamoxifen Increases your chances of getting a stronger and more deadly form of endometerial cancer by 50%! I'm so angry at my Doctors for telling me that because I had breast cancer I had an increased (30 to 50%) higher chance of getting uterine cancer. They didn't bother to tell me the percentage increased due to the Tamoxifen. All they told me about this drug is that it would decrease my chances of the breast cancer returning by 35 to 40%. Thank God I had so many issues with the Tamoxifen that after one year I made them switch me to Arimadex over all their objections that it would screw up their statistics. I'm not making this up. Please research this drug beyond the standard B,S. we have been b...

Recently had chemo and then breast removed from 2 spots on breast and in 2 lymph nodes under right arm now fix s tart 6 -8 radiation and herceptin 1 xmonthe for 12 months could cancer spread ## Yes, there is always a risk of cancer spreading, or of developing new cancer. The best thing to do is to follow your doctor's instructions for further treatment to help prevent it from spreading. The FDA does warn that you may experience side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, weight loss and hair loss. Have you started treatment, yet?

i am on Angelique for two weeks and has a family history of breast cancer. Is it safe to use it as i also had hepatitis A in 2014. But my liver is more than okay now. ## Any type of hormonal supplementation could increase your risk of cancer, including breast cancer, according to the NIH. Why was it prescribed? Are you on any other medications? Its other side effects may include nausea, dizziness, headache, irritability, and PMS-like symptoms.

Will begin treatment post surgery next week. Would appreciate input about options. I am told that I need 5 wks. of radiation, and chemo? I don't know what they will suggest yet. They found the margins of the lumpectomy clear and no lymph node involvement. Now what?? ## I had a successful lumpectomy, with clear margins and no cancer in the sentinel lymph nodes. In spite of that I am told I need 5 wks. of radiation and chemo also. Anyone else been given this treatment for similar outcomes?? ## I had 36 radiation treatments and they wanted me to follow with the tamoxifen pill...started the pill for two months every day and found it messed me up....anxiety attacks and panic attacks...quit taking it until I talk to someone about it, the side effects are not good...... ## Like you, my lum...

I developed a liver problem due to breast cancer (metastasis to liver) and am now having jaundice and stomach pains. Please share your thoughts on how I should go about healing my body? ## Do you have any specific information on your liver problem? Can you post back and be more specific? Are you currently on any medications, or chemotherapy? Pain, and jaundice are typical of most liver issues, accord to the FDA, but the proper treatment for them depends on more specific details. How is your breast cancer doing? Have you been cleared of it?

I read nifedipine causes breast cancer. Is it true? It's supposed to be taken twice daily for high blood pressure. ## Hello, Mercedes! How are you? Are you post-menopausal? That is when the greatest risk was found, though more research is needed to be sure of that and it seemed only relevant to calcium channel blockers, according to JAMA and the studies they have already compiled. Thus, if you are concerned, you could always speak to your doctor about trying a medication that is in a different class, such as a beta blocker. Is this the only medication you are taking?

I have a pill that is white, round and kind of flat with a breast cancer ribbon logo on one side and the other side is scored with no other numbers or letters on it. Does anyone know what this could be? ## That is rather odd. That symbol, which is actually meant to be a stylized R is used by Actavis Pharmaceuticals on some of their products. However, according to NIH listings, they all have additional markings on them, I've not been able to find any that only have the R logo and nothing else. Does anyone else recognize this tablet? I'll keep looking and post back, when I have more information for you.

Hi, I have just finished treatment for breast cancer. I had a mastectomy, chemo and radiotherapy. The lump they found was 5.5 cm but only 2.5 was cancerous. It spread to 3 lymph nodes in spite of it being grade 1. I'm now on Tamoxifen and have been since February. Shortly after starting them, I developed a rash around the vagina. My symptoms sound nothing like any I've read and I'm frightened it might be a secondary cancer. My rash hasn't really spread since February but is a little sore with no itching at all. It also feels a bit swollen. I've been to the doctors but she didn't seem to know what it was and said it was probably a side effect of tamoxifen. Has anyone else heard of my symptoms being related to tamoxifen? ## Hello, Lemony! How are you? Yes, such an ...

I'll be 84yrs.old in a few weeks and weigh 87lbs. Have been diagnosed with stage 1 breast cancer. Dr. had to look real hard to find it, no lump detected but advised surgery and lymph node removal and radiation. I've been looking on the web and I think I have a bigger chance of dying from other causes than breast cancer at my age and weight. I'm active (golf twice a week) and healthy now and don't think I would be after surgery. Anyone else in this situation or has been? ## Really, at your age both the surgery and cancer treatments are likely to be more rough on you than the cancer itself. To be honest, if it were me and I was 84, I'd say no and would choose to live whatever time I had left not being sick and miserable. My dad is 83, he'll be 84 in January and he ...

I had lost my Uterus at 42 and kept my Ovaries with the idea that I would ease into Menopause. This was not a good plan. My Ovaries figured out that they were the only players on the board and within 12 months, I went into Menopause. After a year of horrible hot flashes and feeling terrible, an OB-GYN doc that I met at a conference told me told about Estradiol cream. He suggested that I go on it but would be able to adjust for the severity of symptoms. Mostly it was true. I did not use a full dose on most days and it did stop the symptoms. But what it also did or may have done was cause two pre-cancerous diseases in my Breasts: LCIS and Atypical Ductal Hyperplaisia. Suddenly I was on Tamoxifen and off the Estradiol literally on the same day. I cannot say for sure that the Estradiol was ...

Then went to my liver lung and brain. I take methadone 10, Oxycodone 5 and after January 1st,2013 I won't be able to get my hydrocodone 750`s. I have constant pain. Do you have any ideas to get rid of this pain. ## Hello, Lola! How are you doing? I am so sorry about what you've been going through. You might be able to just get the lower dose and take an additional Acetaminophen tablet, or half of a table with it. Have you checked with your doctor, yet? They will be able to let you know if it is safe for you to do that. ## Have you considered alternative treatments? Try the Jim Kelmun baking soda and molasses recipe for pain reduction. From right breast cancer removed and 12 lymph nodes also removed. After that it went to my liver, right lung and then my brain. Due to all the extreme surgeries I am in awful pain. Even though I take methadone, oxycodone and hydrocodone 750, January 1,2014 no more 750's. Pain 1 to 10 , I am A TEN. ## Hello, Lola! How are you doing? I'm very sorry that you're in so much pain, I hate to see anyone suffer. And yes, that is correct, there will not be anymore combination prescription products available with that amount of Acetaminophen after the new year. Have you discussed the issue with your doctor? They may be able to adjust the dose of one of your other medications to help you more.

I have a high genetic risk of breast cancer and undergo diagnostics every year. I was recommended for a preventative mastectomy in a yr but my most recent scan showed a few cysts and a lesion with internal echoes. My Dr put me on tamoxifen as a preventative measure. I had a fna done which showed papillary architecture in the lesion and was recommended for a lumpectomy and mri which I am having the mri today and the surgery will depend on the results of this as to how soon they do it. Since I have started the tamoxifen I had nausea at the start which has stopped and very severe bone pain especially in my legs hips and hands it'.
