Break Thru Pain

I have been on morphine 60mg extended relief, 3x A day for about 10 years, I have recently noticed that it quit working as well as it did in the beginning so my doctor is going to switch me to oxycoton 30 mg extended relief am I going to go through withdraws because he is only giving me 30mg versus 60mg? I've been through morphine withdraw before and I do NOT want to EVER experience them again!! I am so SCARED!!! I also take 30mg roxys 3x A day for break through pain. ## Hello, Chere! How are you? I have bulging discs at L5,L4,L3,L2,L1, AND S1. I also have spinal stenosis and degeneritive disc disease. My Pain Doc has me on Opana 40ER, one in am when I wake and one around 5:00. P.M. I am also on Norco 10/325 for breakthru and use around 7 a day. I have SEVERE Night sweats and my doc, is after me to slow down the Norco due to possible liver damage. Is there a drug that is just as good as Norco that I can use in Place of it. My pain doc thinks the sweating is caused by the Opana but she is not sure. No doctor can tell me what is causing the night sweats. I go thru 6-8 t-shirts a night and the sweat literally drips off my head at night. I go thru 4 pillows a nite that are wrapped in towels to absorb the sweat. I am 51 Yrs old, Look 40 and have about 20lbs to drop. Can Anyone Help? #...

If anyone knows where I can go please help been on methadone for 8 years and break thru meds for 12 years got hit by a car when I was younger done had neck surgey, which made me hurt worser my middle to lower back I stay in severe pain the meds help to a certain level I dont abuse them or anything its just got to the point without them I probably would not be able to get out of bed the pain is just unbearable on top I have childern to take care of theirs no way I can go without the meds my lower bones are basically shattered I need surgery but dont have the help afterwards so im in a bad situation so please if anyone knows any info to help I would really appericate it. Hey I'm Gwen iv been using Canex V for three nights now and I was instructed to also lightly put it on the thrush but iv noticed it keeps getting worse the skin redness ,itching and the sores , isn't there anything else I can use to get rid of the sores? They are painful I cant even walk properly ## Hello, Gwen! How are you? Has there been any change? Redness and sores aren't typical symptoms of Thrush. Have you been actively engaging in intercourse? Those are more typically symptoms of herpes, there is no cure for it, but there are antiviral medications you can take to help prevent future break outs, according to the NIH. Their typical side effects may possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, and stomach pain. Are you on any other medications?

I have been on fentanyl patch for 10 yrs, and Roxicodone for break thru pain. I was in a car accident in 1998 and have had more issues since. My pain Dr. has decided that he will be following CDC guidelines for PCP's even tho it is a Pain clinic. Actually I think it's because I stopped lining their pockets, having useless procedures, facet injections, etc. I NEED to find a pain clinic,near Rockford Il, Naperville, Aurora. Does anyone know anything about this new medication, and the strength's that they are available in? I'm in desperate need to find a new medication to replace the meds that I've been prescribed for the past 5 years! I've been prescribed Opana ER 40mg tablets, and my dosage is take 2 tabs by mouth 3 times daily. That's for my long-term, and I take Opana IR 10mg's 1 tab by mouth 6 times daily for break-thru pain. I live in Northern VA & was recently (& unfairly) discharged from my Dr. of over 4 yrs. I am nearly out of meds & NEED to find a new Dr. asap! I have osteoarthritis all over and cannot take anti-inflammatories. I have been in pain management for years but the doctor recently changed and the new one wants to do stuff like burn the nerves off my spine and run a wire up my spine and into my neck for a permanent tens unit. I do not want to do these procedures! I do not (and never have) abused drugs and always take them as directed. I need a pain doctor that will prescribe a long acting (extended release) like Opana or Oxycontin AND Norco or Percoset 10/325 for break thru pain. AND one that will not try to do dangerous procedures on me!

After 10+'years new Dr. stopped methadone and break thru Meds. for no reason, nor would give me one. From 2009 thru 2012 I was prescribed methadone and roxicodone for chronic back pain. Which was very effective. The clinic closed down and I've found it difficult to find a doctor who will prescribe methadone. My current doc gives me five 30mg roxicodone a day but I don't get the pain relief I had when taking methadone and the occasional roxicodone for breakthrough pain. I was going to south east spine and pain in Knoxville for almost 3 years they were giving me 60 oxymorphone 30 mg and 120 Roxie 30 mg for break thru pain I got kicked out because my wife over dosed and the local police took all my meds along with hers so I talked with my family doc she sent me to a suboxine clinic one time. I believe the norco is 5mgs like every 4 to 6 hours as needed. She was aware that I take the oxycodone 10 4 times a day this was added for break thru pain and to keep ahead of the pain went to get script filled she (pharmacist) informed me that she would have to call surgeon and pain doctor to clear to fill this med. I'm in unbearable pain. However, if you are talking about a generic for Vicodin, that contains Hydrocodone and Acetaminophen, then it isn't really going to be safe to take 6 of the pills, several times a day, to equal the Morphine. Can Oxycodone be given with Xtampza ER for break-thru pain? ## Hi Red - Well, Xtampza is an extended release form of Oxycodone, so I think that technically what you are asking is if you can take both an immediate release and extended release Oxycodone in conjunction with one another?
