i am taking isoptin sr 120 mg{verapamil} for bradycardia and hypertension, but sometimes my bp is still high, can i take 2.5 mg of enalapril together to control the bp or is it harming ## They can be taken together and are sometimes prescribed together, when someone's blood pressure is very high and their doctor needs to bring it down fast. However, only your doctor can say if it is the right medication for you to try. How high is your blood pressure? Do you watch the fat and salt in your diet? As reported by the NIH, both can contribute to high blood pressure, in some people. The FDA lists the typical side effects of these medications as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, increased urination and hypotension.

My wife experienced alarming bradycardia (heart rate <50 bpm), weakness and dyspnea after only 5 doses of Multaq. She has been a long time user of the antidepressant Nardil. International package inserts (PI) disclose inhibition by MAOI's of Multaq's metabolic clearance. Regrettably the US PI does not disclose this potential for drug interaction. I have urged both Sanofi and the US FDA to correct this omission of useful information. ## In response to your request for more information: Heart rate returned to the normal range (~75 bpm) within 5 days of discontinuing Multaq. We are in Scotch Plains NJ ## So, she's doing better now? II certainly hope she is and yes, if this is an issue then it is something that they definitely should warn about in the drug monograph. Been taking Concor 5mg, 2.5mg am and 2.5 mg pm for 6 months. The first 5 months Concor kept me from having breakthrough atrial fib episodes. Now I am having them frequently and the Concor is not able to control the. I do have bradycardia but not high blood pressure. I am an expatriate US living in Cyprus and don't have anyone to ask. I have episodes frequently. what to do? ## Do you have a doctor you are seeing for this? Concor contains the active ingredient Bisoprolol, which is a beta blocker. And there are 2 possibilities as to what may be causing your problem. One is that your body may have simply just gotten used to the current dosage, so it isn't working as well for you as it used to. This happens to most people, sooner or later, and there is no specific time frame for it, ...

I had Aortic Valve replacement 4 weeks ago. Now I am starting to have my usual fall allergies and starting to sneeze and cough and it really hurts. I have always taken an allergy pill called loratadine. Is it still safe to take that even if I am experiencing bradycardia now? ## It would be best not to take anything, without the approval of your cardiologist. Can high dossages of Bisoprolol (5mg+0+5mg) may be used with a single dossage of Multaq 400mg (1+0+0)? Is there any sideeffects using these medicines togetherly? I am a patient of HCM (non) with irregular heartbeats age 43ys . Current treatment Concor5mg+0+Concor5mg with Plavix ## Use of the Beta Blocker Bisoprolol, with the Dronedarone in the Multaq could result in increased plasma concentrations of the Bisoprolol, this can result in Bradycardia and also increase the depressant effects of the Dronedarone. Thus, if your doctor is going to have you use them together, your dose should be carefully adjusted and you should be monitored regularly. Are there any comments or questions?

since i started taking this medication i find it very difficult to pass urine...is this normal?? ## Looks like this medication isn't manufactured in the US, but I was able to find the active ingredient to be Bisoprolol. Side effects for this drug are listed below (I believe one or more of these side effects can indirectly make it difficult to urinate): Overdose of Bisoprolol leads to fatigue, hypotension, low blood sugar, bronchospasms and bradycardia. Bronchospasms and low blood sugar because at high doses drug can be an antagonist for 2 adrenergic receptors located in lung and in liver. Bronchspasm due to blockage in lungs of 2 receptor and low blood sugar because of decreased stimulation of glycogenolysis and gluconeogenesis in the liver via 2 receptor.
