My skin itches after taking a bath. I have changed soaps and body lotions ## Hello, Sybza! How are you doing? What about your shampoo and conditioner, if you use any? Those typically wash down over the body, when you're using them and then rinse them off, so that's also something you should look into. How about your towels and the detergent and/or fabric softener you use on them? What type of water do you have? All could be culprits. Have you consulted your doctor?

I HAVE CHRONIC ITCHING SYMPTOMS AND MY DOCTOR HAS PRISCRIBED TECZINE 5 mg (levocetirizine) which I am having from past one years however, as advised by doctor only when I get serious itching. I experience various side efects whenever I have TECZINE which include sleepiness wholeday, fatigue, constant visit to toilet, faded vision etc., could you guide me if I will have other internal side effect like kidney, liver etc., I am a type 2 diabietic. ## Levocetirizine is an antihistamine used to treat allergy symptoms. The side effects that you are experiencing are normal, when using this medication. It is processed through your organs, but is only contraindicated in people that already have sever organ damage and require dialysis, because their body is unable to process out the medication. A...

Please help. I sprayed some fly spray all over my body to keep mosquito's away, as I did not have any mosquito spray. Now my body is very itchy and I'm not sure what to do or how to alleviate it? ## There it a chance that you might be allergic to one of the ingredients. What brand are did you use? What have you tried to alleviate the itching? Do you have any visible rash, or hives, which the FDA lists as being other possible allergy symptoms? Have you had any trouble breathing?

I have a rash in my body, mostly my legs. I have been on xarelto ones a day for about one month. It is very itchy I dont know if taking a benadryl will help. ## It would be best to check with your doctor. If it hasn't been worsening and you haven't also had hives, then the itching may be related to the effect Xarelto has on your circulation and not an allergy, which means Benadryl won't do much. The FDA lists the typical side effects of this medication as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, increased risk of bleeding and easy bruising. Is there anything else I can help with?

i have arthritis and Fibromyalgia. I take either Norco or Percacet. Both make me very itchy. Can I safely take them with Benadryl? ## Hello, Julie! How are you? It would be best to check with your doctor first, to make sure it is safe you, because Benadryl can increase the absorption of most opiates, which may be too much for some people. The FDA also warns that opiates carry the risk of being habit forming and could cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth and constipation. Is there anything else I can help with? ## The itching from opiate pain meds is not an allergic reaction and benedryl will not help relieve the itchy sensation. Typical one become itchy when the body has absorbed too much of the drug so you may be on to high of a dose since it is a negative...

I am taking Lisinopril-hydrochlorothiazide 10-12.5. I have been taking it for about 1 yr now. Over the last few month, when I get heated and sweat, I get a severe itching sensation over my entire body. Almost unbearable, but it subsides when I cool down. Could this be a side effect of this medication. ## Yes, there is a possibility that it is from the medication. Medications such as this, which are commonly used to help treat high blood pressure and cardiac conditions, work by having an effect on your circulatory system. Thus, it is very common to see side effect warnings about developing cold extremities, even in normal temperatures and etc. What you may be experiencing could be the opposite effect, when you get warm, more blood is rushing towards the surface of your skin and creating ...

I had stopped taking the Levothyroxine for four days because I was out of town. On the fourth day I had a severe itching or like a nat biteing me all over my body but no rash. could this have been caused from suddenly stopping the medication? ## Hello, Connie! How are you? Yes, that is possible, other withdrawal effects as listed by the FDA may possibly include dizziness, headache and diarrhea. Why didn't you take a supply with you? You really shouldn't skip days of this medication.

I started taking Linzess in early August and around the end of August I broke out with a rash and had severe itching and had to go to a dermatologist. She thinks I had a allergic reaction so I am taking the linzess twice a week. Its not working as well as before, but I was miserable for a month with the itching. ## Hello, Lulu! How are you? The problem is that even just taking it twice a week may not be safe, if you are allergic to it, because such reactions tend to get worse with time. Have you consulted an allergist or immunologist? That might be a good idea, in order to get a better idea of what's going on. ## Thanks Verwon, I will talk to my doctor about seeing a allergist. I am allergic to aspirin, penicillin, so I need to check into this. again thanks! ## My body itches me and...

I have chronic itching due liver disease. My dr. said that taking cholestyramine may help. Can you offer any insight ## Hello, Viktoria! How are you doing? I'm very sorry about your health issues. Cholestyramine helps remove bile acids from the body and in many case where someone has a liver problem, the symptoms they experience such as the itching, are due to it not being properly processed out, anymore. So yes, it may help you, others have had success with it. Is there anything else I can help with?

I just took my first dose and now I can't sleep and my body is itchy, but I do not have a rash.. Can the medicine be causing this? ## Yes, it could be causing it, and it is best to consult your doctor to be sure that you are not experiencing an allergic reaction. The FDA lists the typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, diarrhea, and non-allergic skin rash. Are you on any other medications? Has there been any change?

I have been on Lovastain for three years. My eyes are itching like crazy. I itch all over at night. Has anybody else had this problem? ## Hello, Sherry! How are you? I don't see anything about the itchy eyes, but this medication is reported by the FDA as being known to cause the all over body itching. Other side effects are listed as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache and joint/muscle aches. Are you on any other medications? If the body itching just occurs at night, it could be due to a circulation issue. I used to experience with certain blood pressure medications that I was taking. Have you had this checked out, yet to get a diagnosis?

I am using Asomex 5mg since last two months for blood pressure. Ever since i started using it i am experiencing severe itching on whole body. My doctor has said that might be due to some other reason. I sm clueless. Please tell me what might be the reason. Regards ## whats the side effects of asomex 5 ## Sometimes, these medications can cause itching due to how the affect your circulation to lower blood pressure or improve cardiac function. After 2 months, it likely isn't going to go away and you may need to consult your doctor about trying a different medication. The U.S. FDA lists the other typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, increased urination and hypotension. Is there anything else I can help with?

I have been taking Oral Nystatin Tablets for a few weeks for high levels of Candida found in an Organization. Acids Test. I noticed that about an hour after taking the medicine I start itching everywhere for abut an hour, maybe less then I am fine. Is this a possible allergic reaction or could it be the "yeasties" in my body reacting to the medicine? Thanks for any perspective on the situation. ## Hello, Jana! How are you doing? Are you still experiencing the itching? It would be best to consult your doctor, that could be the sign of an allergic reaction and such a reaction may continue to get worse, with repeated exposure to the allergen. The FDA lists the typical side effects of this medication as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache and stomach pain.

My Doctor just switched my Lortab to MS Contin 60 mg, 12 hr. time release. I had been taking Lortab for 13 yrs and it was no longer effective. I am achieving pain relief with MS Contin but my entire body itches. Will this symptom go away with time? I do recall that I had itching when first using Lortab which eventually went away. Has anyone had the same experience and does the itching go away? Thanks so much!! ## itching is common side effect of many pain medications with oxycontin or oxycodone being the worse, consult with your Dr. in regards of using bendryl, this can cause drowsiness so be careful ## MS Contin contains the active ingredient Morphine CR, which is a very potent narcotic analgesic. The itching is not a very common side effects, however, some people do experience it. You...

I want to know how many are suffering from withdrawal from this drug that causes itching all over the body. At the people's pharmacy there is an article about this very problem, yet Zyrtec doesn't list the information on their web site. This is my third attempt to get off of this med and I'm going crazy from the itching. ## If you take any medication for a long period of time, you will experience some withdrawal effects. This is just as true of allergy medications, as it is of any other. One of the most common withdrawal effects are rebound effects, so for an allergy medication, this can include itching. Have you spoken to your doctor about it? ## I keep getting itching after this. Not had it before, but it's the first time I've taken the medicine for more than a mon...
