The maximum amount of Acetaminophen that is now approved for these combination medications is no more than 325mgs per dose. Thus, if you have a prescription for one with the higher amount, you'll need to see your doctor for a new prescription. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Does anyone know why Watson generic 10/500mg Lortab is no longer available? I am a chronic pain sufferer and have been on this medication for many years. Now my Pharmacy has changed to a different generic and they do not relieve pain. My Dr. told me to change Pharmacies in order to get the Watson Lortab but other Pharmacies don't carry them either. The Watson White Generic Lortab 10-500 has been changed and they DO NOT work to relieve Pain thanks to our regulaters. I have taken the blue ones for years for chronic pain and I can say Diffinently they Do Not Work ! why take something like blue lortab and change it when it worked for choric pain is it because the drug is owned by doctors that want to keep people in pain why please tell me WHY! ## From my perspective, it's really not as complicated as it seems. The way I see it is that the pharmaceutical industry basically turns otherwise short-term pain patients into long-term customers. By keeping patient's scripts inconsistent and sometimes unreliable, they are essentially making people who are in pain feel like they "need" their services to survive. It's a total control/ego trip their on, but at the rate things are going with so many people now complaining about their meds, I doubt big pharma will stay on top for very much longer. I'm normally get Watson 540 that's my Lortab 10 what is the 500? ## Lortab actually contains 2 active ingredients to relieve pain, the 10 denoted how much of the narcotic Hydrocodone it contains and the 500 denotes the dosage of Acetaminophen it contains. I was getting the blue Watson Lortab 10/500 till they changed to the white ones, which do not help the pain at all. They did do something to the formula, it's not in my head. Today I found a pharmacy that has got the pink 10/500 made by Qualitist Pharm. which they took of the market back in Jan. Now they are back with 3600 on one side and a V on the other. Does anyone know what Watson did or why they changed their formula for Lortab 10/500? It used to be blue and when I picked up my refill today they are now white. I still have a few days of my blue left but I swapped a few so I can try the white. I'm waiting for it to start working and I took it over 2 hours ago. My rx is 1-2 every 3 hours not to exceed 7 in a day. (my pm dr wants me on a stronger med but anything above hydrocodone makes me euphoric and I can't function) The blue color lortab starts to work within 15 mins. Why would a blue lortab 10 turn white? ## Are you certain that it was blue and is a Lortab or the generic equivalent? Are there any markings on it? Some pills may change color if they are coated and get wet, so the color washes off, but I am not familiar with any Lortab made that way. ## If it's a Watson 540, then it didn't "turn" white. Watson Pharmacuticals is changing the color. The white Watson 540 is still a generic Lortab 10/500.
