I use Aggrenox (blood thinner) and Losartan (blood pressure) and my hair is thinning. If I use women's Rogaine will there be any side effects, or problems with the medications? Glo ## Hello, Glo! How are you? I didn't find any interactions or problems listed, but it's always best to double check such information to be sure. However, you may be better served to speak to your doctor about switching off of the Losartan to a different medication, it has been known to cause hair thinning and hair loss in some people that take it. Additional side effects, as listed by the FDA may possibly include nausea, dizziness, headache, increased urination and hypotension. Is there anything else I can help with?

I understand that it is alright to take Tylenol when on Warfarin which I am doing but for awhile taking Tylenol did actually effect my INR results and the Warfarin dosage had to be altered accordingly. I have been diagnosed with Bursitis and the Tylenol is not helping at all but I hesitate to try any other pain medication if there is one that is compatible with Warfarin. Seems to me when on Warfarin there are so many limitations. ## There are others you can try, if your doctor approves, they just have to be ones that don't cause additional blood thinning, such as Oxycodone, Hydrocodone, Morphine, or other opiates. The NIH warns that they carry the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, constipation, and dry mouth. Only your physi...

All ## is diltiazem cd a blood thinner ## Is diltiazem a blood thinner? ## No, it is not. It is a calcium channel blocker that is used to high blood pressure, and certain cardiac conditions. The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, increased urination, low heart right, and hypertension. I cannot possibly list all the medications that may cause blood thinning. To the OP can you please post back and clarify which one you are asking about? Thank you!

I have high blood pressure and I am taking loprin 75. Is it right? Note: I used to be a drug addict - i.e. morphine (opiates). ## Did your doctor tell you to take this? From what I can find, it is listed as containing Aspirin, which is used for blood thinning and heart health, but will not help lower blood pressure. Its typical side effects are listed as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, increased risk of bleeding, and stomach irritation. Are you on any other medications?

i take wellbutrin, paxil. kolatapin, and adderall could they thin your blood ## dose wellbutin thin your blood ?? ## No, that is not a normal side effect of these medications. The FDA lists them as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, insomnia, nervousness, and weight changes. Are you having an issue with blood thinning? Are these the only medication you are currently taking? What are your diagnosed medical conditions? There is really no way to say how any medication will affect anyone that tries it, so it can't be 100% ruled out, but it is unlikely that the listed ones would cause any dangerous blood thinning.

I'm on metoprolol and digitek. I had a cold so I took ibuprofen and pseudoephedrine. Would this cause thinning of blood? My nose is bleeding and eyes appear very bloodshot. ## Ibuprofen is an NSAID and while it may cause bleeding and change the way your blood forms platelets it does not thin your blood. This is pretty much a characteristic of most NSAIDs. Aspirin is the most common NSAID known to actually think the blood. ## Ibuprofen has been known to cause hemorrhage, so yes, it can cause blood thinning, and other issues, according to FDA reports. Other side effects may include nausea, dizziness, headache, and stomach irritation. How severe is the nosebleed? Are there the only medications you take? How much Ibuprofen did you take? Can you please post back with more specific detail...

I have been taking blood thiners for the past 4 days now. Ever since I have been taking the blood thiner blood comes out in my urine. Does the blood thiner cause this to happen? And if so, why? ## From what I've read, if you can see blood in your urine, you should probably get an evaluation as soon as possible. At least to make sure that there's nothing serious taking place. Common drugs that may cause visible urinary blood include, but are not limited to: Blood thinning medications (such as aspirin, warfarin, or heparin), penicillin, and the anti-cancer drug cyclophosphamide (Cytoxan). Does anyone happen to know why blood thinners cause this, or Is it simply a matter of blood viscosity?

after the completion of course of duvadilan retard can be it possible to stop thinning of blood within 2/3 days for normal delivery ? now I completed 29 weeks pregnancy . ## Well, first I would like to state this site is not medical professionals, so we cannot give you definitive advice. There are cases where other medications may be used to increase the viscosity of the blood, however, before using them, your doctor must take your medical history under consideration, as well as the health and safety of you and your baby. That said, in many cases, most doctors do not want to administer more drugs than necessary to a pregnant woman, due to the risks that can be associated with them. There are many times where it is safer to just deliver the baby via c-section, where any potential blood l...

I was prescribed this tablet for blood thinning, after taking just one tablet, I had the most dreadful side affects. The worst has been itching, even after having stopped the tablet a week ago, I had very bad nausea for 3 days, shocking water retention in feet & ankles, even 3, 40 grams furemuside a day didn't fix it. That has resolved itself, headache, constipation, I never have that. I am back taking aspirin, still feeling unwell & the itchiness does not want to go away, no matter what I try. ## Are you on any other medications, or just the Aspirin? While the NIH does warn that many medications can cause itching as side effects, and they do list it being possible with Xarelto, along with nausea, dizziness, headache, easy bruising, and increased risk of bleeding. However, it...

Now that I am taking pradaxa, I can no longer take arthrotec for arthritis. Is there any other arthritis medication I can take? ## Hello, Denis! How are you? You should be able to take medications that don't cause blood thinning, which the Diclofenac in the Arthrotec does. (Diclofenac NDC code for more information 0054-4223.) The FDA lists the typical side effects of Pradaxa as possibly including nausea, headache, increased risk of bleeding, and easy bruising. (Pradaxa 0597-0149). can my mum take these with taking warfarin and bloodpressure tablets ## Erythromycin is an antibiotic that is used to treat various types of infections. In regards to using it with the Warfarin, it can be done, but the doctor must carefully consider the dosage, because it can increase the blood thinning effect of the Warfarin. As to the blood pressure medications, I can't really answer that, without knowing what they are. Is her doctor and pharmacy aware of everything that she is taking?

Hello, I am having a lumbar puncture to measure CSF pressure in a week. I have been prescribed low-dose percoset (1/2 of 7.5/325 per day) to help with the pain and pressure until the lumbar puncture. I was told not to take any blood-thinning medications until the procedure. Can I still take the percoset? Or will it thin the blood as well? ## From what I could gather Percocet has two components; Oxycodone + Acetaminophen, and neither are blood thinners. So you should be fine taking it prior to your surgery. Learn More: Acetaminophen + Oxycodone Details If you have any more questions or concerns, please post back and I will be happy to help you.

I take Eliquis. Side effects: I have Periphial neuropathy, thinning hair atrophy of mucus in arms, weak legs, depression, insomnia, bad balance, bruise easily, dry skin, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, stiffness in morning, pain in legs in the morning. ## According to FDA reports, it has been known to cause some of these symptoms as side effects, such as the pain, high blood pressure, and easy bruising, but not most of the others. Are you on any other medications? How long have you been taking it? It's really impossible to say how any given medication will actually affect anyone that tries it, since we are all different.

have had dental surgery and have to avoid aspirin. Need to take painkillers. Do mefac caps contain any aspirin? ## The active ingredient in Mefac is Mefanemic Acid, this is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory used to treat pain and swelling. Such medications can also cause some blood thinning, just like Aspirin, so you should check with your doctor or pharmacist to make sure they are safe for you to use at this time. Is there anything else I can help you with? ## Took Ibufren which helped. Couldnt find out much about it or its aspirin content but didnt care in the end! .... thanx for the reply. x ## Ibuprofen does not contain Aspirin, it contains Ibuprofen, another NSAID. If you need any more information, just ask!

Can I use Kavinace for sleep if I take warfarin? ## SInce the Kavinace is a natural supplement, it really hasn't been tested for interactions with prescription medications, as is done with other drugs. Have you tried asking your doctor or pharmacist? There are some herbs and supplements, such as Vitamin K, or anything that may cause blood thinning, that should not be taken with the Warfarin and they would be able to check it more closely for you.

I have been taking Sintrom (10 yrs) as I have 12 stents around my heart. I still have angina. I recently went to A&E after a fall, and the duty doctor looked at my medications Plavix/Aspirin/Sintrom, and seemed horrified that I take ALL of these. My blood is so thin, that if I even scratch my arm casually, it takes up to an hour to stop, my sheets are a mess each morning. Is the above combination TOO MUCH thinning? I darent even eat a single piece of green veg!!! ## Hi Olivo. Aspirin and Sintrom are not a very good combination as i heard the doctor saying. You should research possible drug interactions between these two pills. Best regards.
