SMALL YELLOW PILL, LETTERS MIGHT BE PAF, NUMBER IS 117 ## Good pill.... bad medicine ## I have solved the mystery about the yellow pill, thanks to this site. Now, I'm a little upset with the facts. My husband suffers from a neurological illness, involving his brainstem. It's been a very difficult road for him, dealing with the problems that cannot be prevented. I am angry because the pill about which I had inquired here has turned out to be a good medication, but very bed medicine for my husband. One of his problems is that his brain makes him waste sodium; a problem we have been able to handle by being very careful. After a recent neurosurgery, he was also having trouble with a very erratic blood pressure. He was initially put on Lisinopril, but upon discharge he was given an a...

Blood pressure (BP), sometimes referred to as arterial blood pressure, is the pressure exerted by circulating blood upon the walls of blood vessels, and is one of the principal vital signs. When used without further specification, "blood pressure" usually refers to the arterial pressure of the systemic circulation. During each heartbeat, blood pressure varies between a maximum (systolic) and a minimum (diastolic) pressure.[1] The blood pressure in the circulation is principally due to the pum...

my doctor said to reduce the amount of Triamterene that I am taking, because it is effecting my kidneys I am taking it for my high blood pressure among other pills too. He want's me to take the Triamterene just every other day, but what if I stop all together, cause I don't want to damage my kidneys. Please advice me. ## Hello, Elquapo! How are you? What else are you taking? What type of kidney issue has shown up? If this is the only medication you're on for your blood pressure, then it wouldn't be advisable to completely stop it.

I was on bisoprolol + hydrochlorothiazide and my dr just switched me to lisinopril + hydrochlorothiazide. Do I have to be weaned off of the first blood pressure pill or can I start taking the new ones tomorrow? ## You should be able to make a smooth transition from one to the other, unless you've been instructed otherwise. The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, increased urination, and hypotension. Is there anything else I can help with?

Is 10 mg. Less than 10/12 mg ## Hello, Connie! How are you? Can you be more specific as to what medications you're asking about? The 10/12mg denotes a medication that contains 2 active ingredients and then the 10mg would contain just one, so I'm afraid I can't be more specific, without having more information. The FDA lists the typical side effects of blood pressure medications as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, increased urination, stomach pain and hypotension.

I have been taking coverall 2mg for about 1 year now. I have blurred vision, awful leg pain, and have developed a cough with mucus running down the back of my throat. I have also gained weight for no reason. I also take pariet 20mg. Can you please give me some advice? ## Hello, Ollie! How are you? The blurred vision and leg pain might be due to the Coverall, the FDA does list those as being possible side effects, along with nausea, dizziness, headache, and increased urination. Both of these medications are listed by the NIH as possibly causing weight gain. As to the cough with mucous, that might be due to an acid issue, if you are taking the Pariet to treat acid reflux, or a similar condition, it can cause a cough with mucous and sinus drainage. What type of foods do you eat? What do yo...

SOMETIMES AT NIGHT MY PRESSURE WILL SKYROCKET TO ABOUT 235/105. I DOUBLE DOSE MY MEDS BUT IT STILL TAKES AROUND 3-4 HOURS TO GET IT DOWN; NOT LOW BUT LIVABLE. I TAKE CLONIDINE .02 LOSARTAN 100 MG AND SOMETIMES AMLODIPINE 5 MG. ## Actually, the only thing bringing it down after 3 to 4 hours is time, not the medications. These medications don't work like that to bring it down that fast, they take time to work, which requires consistent dosing for 4 to 6 weeks to have an effect, occasionally doubling up, just when it spikes does nothing. Have you consulted your doctor about the spikes? What are you doing that may make it elevate like that? You most likely need a med adjustment in the evening, which will probably be a higher dosage of one of them. One that you could ask your doctor abou...

If you're blood pressure has been at normal levels on this dose, it's possible that the dose is now too high and you may need to take a lower one. Usually, higher doses are used at first, to bring someone's blood pressure down as fast as possible, then the doctor should be monitoring them regularly and they should be checking it themselves, so the dosage can be adjusted as needed. While these numbers are slightly low, they are not usually dangerous, the main concern is if someone is experiencing dangerous symptoms.

My age is 48 and my blood pressure remains at 150 past one year I am on telmisartan and amlodipine combined with bisoprolol 5mg. Suggest how to lower my blood pressure ## Hello, Krishna! How are you? What types of foods do you eat? If they are heavily salted and very fatty, that will play a role in causing your blood pressure to be high. It can also be affected by someone's being overweight and being sedentary. So, if you're carrying a few extra pounds, you should work on losing them, preferable via proper diet and exercise, since those both also play a role in lowering it. And have you talked to your doctor? These just might not be the right medications for you to take, you may need to try something else. ## Since last one year my bp is 150/75.
