my doctor said to reduce the amount of Triamterene that I am taking, because it is effecting my kidneys I am taking it for my high blood pressure among other pills too. He want's me to take the Triamterene just every other day, but what if I stop all together, cause I don't want to damage my kidneys. Please advice me. ## Hello, Elquapo! How are you? I was on bisoprolol + hydrochlorothiazide and my dr just switched me to lisinopril + hydrochlorothiazide. Do I have to be weaned off of the first blood pressure pill or can I start taking the new ones tomorrow? ## You should be able to make a smooth transition from one to the other, unless you've been instructed otherwise. I have chronic low BP. I am average high and weight, 5'7' 130 lbs. I'm 46 yrs old.It has become more of a problem lately. Also, I have been in severe pain w/ diverticulitis and am unable to have pain meds prescribed due to my low BP. I've been unable to find any info on this subject. Please help!

SOMETIMES AT NIGHT MY PRESSURE WILL SKYROCKET TO ABOUT 235/105. I DOUBLE DOSE MY MEDS BUT IT STILL TAKES AROUND 3-4 HOURS TO GET IT DOWN; NOT LOW BUT LIVABLE. I TAKE CLONIDINE .02 LOSARTAN 100 MG AND SOMETIMES AMLODIPINE 5 MG. ## Actually, the only thing bringing it down after 3 to 4 hours is time, not the medications. These medications don't work like that to bring it down that fast, they take time to work, which requires consistent dosing for 4 to 6 weeks to have an effect, occasionally doubling up, just when it spikes does nothing. Have you consulted your doctor about the spikes? What are you doing that may make it elevate like that? Is the patient showing any symptoms, which the NIH lists as possibly including nausea, dizziness, or fainting? While these numbers are slightly low, they are not usually dangerous, the main concern is if someone is experiencing dangerous symptoms.

Thanks in advance.. ## It could be that it is just not the right medication for you, not every medications works for everyone that tries it. Have you consulted your doctor? There are other you can try to see if they lower your blood pressure. Have you lowered your salt intake and do you get lots of exercise? It can also be affected by someone's being overweight and being sedentary. So, if you're carrying a few extra pounds, you should work on losing them, preferable via proper diet and exercise, since those both also play a role in lowering it. Hi for over 8 month I have unbearable ringing in both ears.when I move to walk or get up I have terrible throbbing in both .
