my Dr checked my BP today in his office he did a 6 test cycle , it was remarkably good for once @ 120/65 BUT I noticed he checked with cuff on my right upper arm, When I test it is much higher BUT I use my left arm , So my DR re tested with cuff on Left arm, results were much high at 160/80 range . the question is is this OK? and why is there such a variation,Should I follow up with more investigation or just forget it ? ## Hello, Rob! Earlier today my bp was 139/113, a few hours later I checked again and it was 155/86. I have numerous health issues. I'm hoping blood pressure isn't being added to the list? ## When did you check it? Was it after eating? And if so, what did you eat? Was it after activity? If so, what kind of activity? What time of day did you check it? There are so many things that could cause such blood pressure fluctuations, according to NIH reports, so it is very hard to say from this limited information.

I have had incidents of orthostatic hypotension and syncope in the recent past. I will have blood pressure fluctuations during the day ranging from sometimes a morning high of 154/90 down to 93/56 at some point during the day. I have Grade 1 diastolic dysfunction, pulmonary venous hypertension and moderate diffusion disorder. The lung diffusion disorder is 4 points away from severe. I'm iron deficiency anemic and have numerous other medical issues. Last year I had a CRP four times normal and an ESR, I think, that was twice normal. I was placed on hydroquinine (sp) and am still on it. The maximum dosage twice a day. I have central sleep apnea and OSA. My vpap settings are 18/13. Is 154/70 considered to be high blood pressure? ## Normal is considered to be 120/80 and normal life activity will cause some fluctuations, so anything slightly lower or higher, such as 125/82 or 110/65 are not considered to be a problem. Was that just one reading, or has it been consistently showing high over several readings? ## it fluctuates, but for a while now my systolic is considerably high and my diastolic is low ## Actually, they new normal or "good " range for blood pressure is BELOW 120/80. A perscribed BP med should lower blood pressure shortly after taking it.

i've been diagnosed with high blood pressure recently. medications was started after 2 weeks of observation. first reading was 110/160.. later on fluctuating between 90-105.. i was adviced to start taking medicine metosartan 25. current reading 82-126.. but after taking these from 1 month.. i feel lil suffocation and tiredness sometimes. is it because of side effects of these or due to pressure fluctuations?? doc advised it is due to the same and body takes time to adjust from high to low pressure suddenly.

I take Lotrel for hight blood pressure but take it in generic form the cap was pink and white and the last ones I got were just pink with 931 on one end par on the other what is it ## I was taking the generic for Lotrel 10/20 that were purple a little lighter then the name brand put out by Teva, no problem.
