Hemostasis or haemostasis (from the Ancient Greek: αμστασις haimóstasis "styptic (drug)") is a process which causes bleeding to stop, meaning to keep blood within a damaged blood vessel (the opposite of hemostasis is hemorrhage). It is the first stage of wound healing. Most of the time this includes blood changing from a liquid to a solid state. All situations that may lead to hemostasis are portrayed by the Virchow's triad. granddaughter has severe blood clotting through her whole body, any naturel healing sugestion, pill pusher not makeing any progress thanks ## What have they tried? It really isn't wise for anyone to try and suggest anything, not knowing her medical history and what medications she is on, because even natural remedies can interact with certain medications and cause severe problems. Do they know what is causing it?

can nitrofur/mona/macro 100 mg dosage cause blood clots? ## From what I could gather, Nitrofurantoin does not list blood clotting as a potential side effect at any dosage. This is not to say it can't happen, but this information is being pulled from government webpages, so there is a certain level of trust that comes with the information provided. I also researched to see if there were any contraindications or special precautions against those who may already have blood clots, and this does not appear to be a factor in the safety of this medication. "diarrhea that is watery or bloody" is closest side effect I was able to find on Nitrofurantoin. From my own observation, most blood clots are stemmed from one's dietary habits or smoking habits with cigarettes/tobacco. I hop...

I recently started taking eliquis and I always pass blood clots during my menstruation. Should I be worried? ## This medication has been known to cause such issues in women that take it, as reported by the FDA. You may also experience nausea, headache, heavier periods and easy bruising. However, if your periods do get very heavy, or the clots become large or more frequent, then you should have this checked out by your doctor. Can any other ladies that have been on it chime in? ## I'm having the same issue- had to stop BC mid pack because they found 2 clots in my lungs. I started on Eliquis last week and have had a super heavy period with clotting. I can't figure out if it's because of the mid pack stop, or the eliquis. Waiting for my doctor to call me back- it's very unn...

Doctor prescribed this medicine in place of Beta-Nicardia Is this medicine is good because it contains Asprin. ## This medication actually isn't used to treat high blood pressure. It is used as a blood thinner and to prevent blood clotting, so it's nothing like the Beta-Nicardia that you were taking. Are you sure it was supposed to replace it, or are you perhaps supposed to take it in addition to the other? Side effects may include nausea, dizziness, stomach irritation and increased risk of bleeding. ## DEh PLATT-CV 20 is Clopidogrel Bisulphate ( 75 mg ) with Atrovastain ( 20 mg ) and Aspirin ( 75 mg ). I want to know this drug is safe because it contains Asprin.

5 years ago my father had a double bypass and was prescribed Felodipine, Atenolol, and Clopidogrel. He is still taking them and now has signs of low blood pressure and orthostatic hypotension. He has confusion, dizzy spells, shakes, and has fallen several times now. is the 3 prescribed medications a common combination and/or can it be the cause of his recent episodes? ## Yes, prescribing several to get better control of blood pressure and to stabilize cardiac conditions is completely normal. However, our bodies do change with time, so what worked well for years may suddenly start causing problems. The Clopidogrel is used to prevent clotting, not to control blood pressure. Learn more Clopidogrel details here. So that means that if his BP is going too low, the likely cuplrits would be the...

Hi, I am pregnant and on blood pressure medication to regulate my high blood pressure. I recently heard that since I'm pregnant and on blood pressure medication I should also be on blood thinners to prevent a blood clot. Is this true? ## I have never heard of such a thing, as a matter of fact, from what I've read in pregnancy information, most women are just on a blood pressure medication, such as Labetalol and nothing else. Many of them have blood thinning properties of their own, so another blood thinner is rarely necessary, unless there is some other underlying condition, such as a clotting disorder, prior stroke, or etc. What has your doctor advised?

My father's been having high blood pressure for the last 4+ years. He is a TB cured individual (not consuming sugar). My question is, why was Deplatt 75mg prescribed and how long should it be taken for? ## I've been taking Deplatt 75mg since 2007 and would like to know how long I should continue treatment? ## Has this been discussed with either of the relevant doctors? Deplatt contains the active ingredient Clopidogrel, which is used to help prevent blood clotting. I have been taking plavex for about 2 years to prevent blood clotting after heart surgery the question is I sweat frequently at night after taking plavex is this a serious sign should i stop taking it? ## What you really need to do is talk to your doctor to determine the cause of the night sweats. While they can sometimes be caused by medications, it could also be a symptom of some other, serious health condition. It is also important that you not stop this medication, without your doctor's approval. Have you consulted them, yet?

blood thinner ## Did you mean Plavix, the antiplatelet medication that contains Clopidogrel? Since it's used to prevent clotting, it is not a straight blood thinner, which is why it's paired with Aspirin in some cases. The side effects may include nausea, dizziness and increased risk of bleeding. There are more Plavix details available here.

eye drops ## Is it possible for rastasis eye drops to cause the blood to thin so that clotting is difficult. My husband has been using these drops for about a week and a cut on his hand was still bleeding profusely the next morning. This is very uncommon for him and rastasis is the only new medication he is using. ## Restasis is listed as containing Cyclosporine, it is used in drop form to treat chronic dry eye. The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including irritation, redness, burning, and eye irritation, and yes, it has also been reported to cause bleeding and clotting disorders in some patients. How is he doing, now? Has there been any change?

Deplatt-A contains Clopidogrel and Aspirin, it is used to prevent blood clotting and to thin the blood, thus one of its side effects is an increased risk of bleeding.
