About how long after starting Nexplanon did you experience irregular bleeding if you did? ## According to the side effects listed by the FDA, it can vary from person to person, but usually takes at least a day, because it may take that long for the hormones to fully enter your blood stream and start having an effect. These types of implants typically cause irregular bleeding in many women and it may last, off an on, for the duration of time that you have it. Other side effects are listed as possibly including nausea, headache, irritability and PMS like symptoms. Is there anything else I can help with?

This summer has been a rough summer for my body. In May I had a superlight period, then June, July and August basically had my period for 3 weeks straight then off my period then 3 weeks again. They are super heavy and filled with a lot clots. In August I went to the doctor, had a ultrasound done, biopsy and everything came back normal, though she did say I had debris up there. She put me on medroxy, where i would start it on the 10th-end it on the 24th. I had my period when I started, it seemed to stop for about 5 days and now its been back for almost a week and its super heavy and clotty. She gave me a 3 month supply of this, does it take awhile for it to work. I am feeling little weak and tired and am sick of supporting Tampax on my own. Help! ## Hello, Nora! How are you? It seems yo...

I've been on medroxy for 3 years but stopped in oct 2013. I got a new doctor who put me back on march 2014, I started at 60mg a day because I bleed and don't come off my period. I got down to 40mg the week before last. Last week I started the 20mg. I had intercourse for the first time in a year on 4/5. Everything was fine. I had intercourse on 4/12. On 4/14 I started bleeding and have not stopped. My bleeding is increasing. My doctor told me to up it to 40mg again. In the past was only on 5mg at the most and I have never had this problem. I can't stop bleeding. I'm giving it until Friday before I call my doctor again to see what he wants me to do. This has never happened to me before. What could be going on? ## Hello, Nina! How are you doing? The levels of progesterone t...

Hi i just started mono linyah and i have been bleeding from march 8 till now. Is this unusual? And on a normal basis do i get a period on the 1st day of the white pills? Thanks ## Hello, Nicki! How are you? Yes, that can be a side effect of oral contraceptives and it may continue for the first 3 months, or so, of taking them, while your body adjusts. As reported by the FDA, you may also experience nausea, dizziness, headache and PMS-like symptoms. And yes, you should have your period within a day or two of starting the placebo pills. Is there anything else I can help with?

I've been on Effexor for about three weeks after a change over from Wellbutrin. I am taking 75 mgs twice a day. I am feeling so much better, but over a week ago I started spotting. This lasted for a few days and stopped. Today I started again. I read that Effexor can mess with hormones. I have been in menopause for a couple of years. Has anyone else had this problem? And if so, did you continue to take the Effexor and did this 'side effect' eventually go away. I will be contacting my doctor this week, but I wanted to know if anyone else has gone through this. ## Anytime you experience vaginal bleeding past menopause, you need to have it checked out by your doctor immediately, because there is a chance that you may have a condition that requires medical treatment. Yes, some a...

I started taking sprintec on October 21st, my cycle waa due on the 24th. It didn't come. Usually I'm a normal blender for 2 days, then very light the last 2. I stopped taking sprintec and my cycle came on Nov 2. I have been bleeding like a slaughtered pig, with clots for 5 days.....having to change every hour. What is going on? ## Hello, Kay! How are you? The hormone in the oral contraceptive can affect your cycle, it may be heavier or longer than normal. Did you stop taking it altogether or do you just mean you stopped for the placebo week? The FDA lists the other typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, irritability and PMS-like symptoms. With the clotting, you should consult your doctor, because that's usually due to your estrogen being too ...

Hi, i started taking nordette on the 18th of march 2016 and i have been bleeding since then. Should i be worried? ## Hello, Shanthi! How are you? If you're concerned, it never hurts to consult your doctor, however, irregular bleeding can be a normal side effect of oral contraceptives for the first 3 months, or so, while your body gets used to the medication. Other side effects may also include nausea, dizziness, headache and irritability, as listed by the FDA. Is there anything else I can help with?

I started taking Tri Sprintec in October but I began to forget and was messing up. My period started last Saturday and I’ve been taking my new pack everyday since last Sunday. How long does it take for the pill to make my period stop. I take birth control only to regulate my periods because I’m irregular. The last thing I want is another 2 week period or even longer like I’ve had in the past. ## That can be a normal side effect of this medication, according to FDA reports, you may experience irregular bleeding for the first 3 months, as a side effect, while your body gets used to the medication. Other side effects are listed as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, mood changes, weight changes, and PMS-like symptoms. If things don't improve, after 3 month...

How are you? Yes, that can be a normal side effect for the first 3 months, or so, of taking oral contraceptives. If it continues past 3 months, you should consult your doctor as this may not be the right medication for you to take. Other side effects, as listed by the U.S. FDA, may possibly including nausea, dizziness, mood swings, and weight changes. Are you on any other medications?

Hi. I just started my 3rd pack of pills and I have had continous bleeding (like a medium period) since the 1st pack. Should I stop taking them or will my body eventually adjust and stop bleeding? I feel like it's never going to stop! ## Hello, Reo! How are you? According to the FDA, irregular bleeding can occur for the first 3 months, while your body is getting used to the hormones. You may also experience nausea, dizziness, headache, weight gain, irritability and PMS-like symptoms. If it doesn't stop by the 4th month, then you may need this may not be the right contraceptive for you and you'll need to speak to your doctor about trying something else. I am on the 7th bottle. The last few weeks my toes have become quite red. The doctor said to expect this. However, my toes are getting quite irritated from rubbing on my shoes. They actually start bleeding when I walk any distance. If I cover the ends of my toes with a Band-Aid that protects them and they do not bleed. I have not read that this is a side effect. Have others experienced this? ## Hello, DiDi! How are you? No, I didn't see this listed among the side effects, but if the skin is getting irritated, then it does make sense that it could happen. The FDA lists the redness and irritation as being the typical side effects. However, I'd suggest having it checked out by your doctor, just in case. Do they even bleed, when you wear socks?

Such bleeding is usually due to a hormonal imbalance and this may help to restore balance for you. The FDA lists the typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, irritability, and PMS-like symptoms. Have you started taking it, yet? ## No! because still bleeding. I have been put on this antibiotic for a suspected uti infection. Since taking it I have started to have a light period. This is unusual for me as I take cerezette and haven't had a bleed for years, can this happen? Anyone else had this? I'm worried that something more serious is going on and not a uti. ## Hello, Michelle! How are you? This antibiotic tends to reduce the effectiveness of oral contraceptives, so essentially, it nullifies them and induces a period, it is normal and the prescribing doctor should have warned you about it, because it also puts you at risk of candy. The FDA lists its other typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, weight changes and irritability. Is there anything else I can help with? ## Hi and thank you for your reply, ...
