I was on Tri Sprintec for ever! My doctor gave me Tri Nessa last month and today when i went to pick up my script it is Norgestimate Eth Estradiol Tab. Ive head this one makes girls gain weight more and breaks out their skin more. I called my doctor and the nurses said they are all the same just different names. it makes me nervous they are switching me and not being constant should i try this new one ? or make sure i get tri nessa back?!!? ## Hello, I've personally been through the same situation you have. I was on Seasonique for years and then the doctor switched me to a generic brand because my insurance would no longer cover "non generic" brands. Since then I had horrible breakouts and started experiencing a lot of anxiety/migraines. Those symptoms didn't occur overn...

I started my period in April, but I wasn't on the brown pill yet. and now I haven't had a period for the month of may. I have no symptoms of pregnancy. I kept holding my urine in for a while now my bladder hurts. maybe that caused my cycle not to come? idk. and I'm taking lo loestrine FE. ## Have you contacted your doctor? Why are you holding your urine in? That's never really a good idea, because it can cause various problems, such as urinary tract infections. It can be normal to skip your menstrual cycle, when you are new to taking oral contraceptives, due to your body adjusting to the hormones, but you should talk to your doctor to be certain. I just started a new birth control two and half weeks ago. I have been on birth control before, started at 16, with some stomach pains for a couple days within the first month. That was on Lo Loestrin Fe, then I switched to the generic. Now moved out and getting my birth control on my own at 20, a new doctor gave me microgestin. (She was so insincere and wanted me out the door ASAP). For a few days I have felt nausea and severe stomach pain, only throwing up once. But it would go away after a few hours. Today things took a horrible turn. The pain was so unbearable from my abdomen I was in fetal position crying all day like a child, while my boyfriend tried to do everything he could to help. Not eating a meal in a couple days, I dry heaved twice and my body temperature would rise and fal...

So last year I was on yaz and after about 3 months, I started having cramps and gas and always felt like my stomach wasnt settled. My mom thought I was lactose intolerant but when I stopped my pills over summer, my stomach was back to normal. Now I am on yaz again and after 2 months the same thing is happening with my stomach. Has anyone else experienced this with yaz? Should I be worried. I think I am going to ask my doctor to switch. ## Hello, Marz! How are you? Has there been any change? Those can be side effects of oral contraceptives, according to the NIH. You may also experience headache, PMS-like symptoms, and spotting. Speaking to your doctor about switching to a different one is most likely a good idea. With many medications, it is a matter of trial and error to find one that w...

Hello im on week four of the birth control patch going on day three and my period has not started is this normal ## Hello, Tee! How are you? I'm sorry, but I'm not clear, are you wearing a patch this week or not? Because you're only supposed to wear them for 3 weeks, then take the fourth week off. However, either way, yes it can be normal to have irregular periods due to the hormones in them. The FDA lists the other typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, irritability and PMS-like symptoms.

I am 2 weeks late for my period so I went to the doctor. They checked me out and did a pregnancy test which was negative. I did 4 at home which were all negative as well. My doctor then prescribed me birth control (Sprintec) to help me regulate my period... So I can start it... My question is, since I haven't gotten my period and it's not Sunday, do I start the blue pills first still or take the white to help get my period? Idk... Please help. ## The pills that you take the week you are supposed to get your menstrual cycle do not contain any active ingredients and will not help you get your period. They are placebo pills and usually cause bleeding due to breakthrough bleeding, since it is a week off of the hormones in the other pills. That said, you do not have to start these on...

So my last period started on saturday the first, so i started the birth control "Estarylla" sunday at approx. 5:30pm, as directed to do so by my doctor. That next morning i woke up from severe hives all over my body, not knowing the cause, as it could have been from a few new items(such as my new laundry detergent, or new lotion, or the birth control). I called my doctor, he said to discontinue all three possible items. I was just concerned, is this going to cause my next period (supposed to arrive march 29th) to be "thrown off"? My period is normally on track, if not within the same week its supposed to come. Please comment with what you think/know. Thanks (: ## Hello, Hudsonsgirl! How are you? Sorry about the hives. It is very unlikely that it would throw it off if you...

Help ... I stopped taking the pill a few days after my BF and I had unprotrected which was during the time I was ovulating, I'm supposed to get my period on tomorrow the 10th but had light bleeding for 2 days the 5-6th can this be implatation bleeding or just my period being thrown off because I stoppedthe pills my period usually lasts 4 days never 2 days. Please can anyone help. ## Hello, Sil! How are you? If you didn't stop them until several days after having intercourse, then you were still protected from getting pregnant. You do not ovulate while you are taking them, they actually work by prevention ovulation. And yes, stopping them abruptly in the middle of the pack would most likely cause your period to be thrown off. When you're taking oral hormonal contraceptives, y...

Hi! I've been taking minastrin 24 fe for about 9 months now. I've never missed a day, but somehow today I slept through my alarm and took it 6 hours late. Will it be ineffective now? ## Hello, Autumn! How are you? No, you've generally got a window of about 12 hours, before it's even considered a late pill and about 24hours, before it's actually considered a missed tablet. The FDA lists the typical side effects of oral contraceptives as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, irritability and PMS-like symptoms. Is there anything else I can help with?

OK I never taking birth control before and now my Dr gave me tri-sprintec and i never a my period in August and I started takening the pill Wednesday 27'and started my period on the 30 how long will I be on my period and is it normal to start on week 1??? ## I can't say for sure how long you will be on your period, it can be irregular for the first 3 months or so, while your body is adjusting to this medication, which means yes, it can also be normal to start at an odd time during the month. You will also not be protected from pregnancy, until you have taken it for a full 7 days. Is there anything else I can help with?

I should have also started my period today but so far nothing should I be worried? ... ## Hello,, Julian! How are you? Why did you start it so late? I was just put on mono Linyah. My dr told me to take the first pill the Sunday after I started my period. I started my period on a Friday, took the first pill on Sunday. I’m not supposed to have my next period for 20 days, but I start the white pills in 14 days. I thought you were supposed to start your period on the day of the first white pill? ## It is normal for your menstrual cycle to change, when you are taking a hormonal contraceptive, according to FDA notes. You may also experience other side effects that could include nausea, dizziness, headache, and spotting. If any symptoms become too problematic, or if you bleed to heavily, you should inform your doctor, as it may not be the right one for you to take, so you might have to try a different one. How are you doing, now?

I went to the clinic and i was given an all white contraceptive pill. I want to know if they work the same as the most common mixed (red and white). Thank you ## Hi Fudua, Do you what brand it was that they had given you? Only asking because I think it really depends on the brand/generic or manufacturer you're comparing it with. In general they all work very similarly for the same purpose, but many of these oral contraceptives have a variation of pink, blue, brown, and/or white pills in their blister packets; each with active or inactive ingredients. So it would be difficult to determine how each one might affect you until you actually take them. More often than not I see posts stating that the brands are better than the generics, but these types of medications can affect each perso...

One of the side effects if you aren't consistant with taking the pills at the same time is spotting. Personally I've never had a problem with breakthrough bleeding (so far) and have always had my period on the brown pills, never any other time. :/ ## Could I be pregnant, I am in loestrin24 this is my 3 package i never been in BC pill when ...

Hi, i am 26 years old. i don't know remember when was the last time i had normal(regular periods). I can skip like 3-5 months without getting my period sometimes. I'm now using oralcon pills, what happens is that i always get my period way before i finish first 21 pills. This is confusing there is just nothing normal about my menstrual cycle. Please help. ## That can be a normal side effect of this medication, there is never any guarantee that it will help normalize your periods, according to NIH reports. You may also experience nausea, dizziness, headache, and mood swings. Have you consulted your medical provider? You may need to try a different hormonal contraceptive. ## I only talked to nurses who also seem confused, I will need to consult a Doctor.. Any suggestion on which t...

Yes, the NHS does list it as a possibility that this antibiotic may reduce the efficacy of oral contraceptives and a backup method of protection should be used. I have been on Gildess 1/20 for 5 months and have had some break through bleeding in the beginning but it went away. I have had bad cramping on my period and in the middle of my pack. I typically take my pill in the morning around 9:00am but last saturday I forgot and took it at 10:00pm but I had already started to bleed by 9:00pm. Its now friday its been a week and I am still bleeding bad. Enough to wear a pad. Its aways worse in the morning and gets less at night. However my cramps are constant. I have no idea what to do? Or whats wrong? Could missing one pill by a couple of hours do this? ## Hello, Kayla! How are you? I am very sorry about the problems that you're having.
